“Our 2 year old reactive Border Collie was very happy with Makenna. She made sure that he got a lot of exercise and good playtime sessions with her dogs. Their backyard is huge fenced in space and our dog got plenty of enrichment time exploring new spaces in a safe evironment. I will definitely be coming back!”

“Anthony watched my dogs for a week while I was on vacation. His house was set up well to accommodate pets. There were other dogs there for my dogs to play with and a large fenced in back yard with dog toys. He sent me pictures of my dogs every day while we were away - it looked like they were having a lot of fun! Would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a great place for their pets to stay!”

“Enaes did a fantastic job handling my very nervous pooch and was very flexible when I was stuck out of town due to the weather. She provided updates and I felt comfortable having Pheo in her care.”

“Andrew and his partner took excellent care of our dog and were very playful with him. Very quick on their responses, easy communication, and responsible. I definitely recommend!”

“YiTing is a wonderful care sitter! She kept me updated every day and always let me know if she had any concerns about my little Shih Tzu, such as when she wasn’t eating well. She sent me pictures regularly and even discovered what toys she liked to play with—without me having to say anything! This was my first time leaving my dog with her, and I felt very reassured. I will definitely book her again for my next trip.”

“My anxious doodle had a wonderful week with Cynthia. This is our first time leaving her for more than one night, and I received dozens of pictures of my happy, perfectly content dog. Thank you Cynthia! You’re the best. 🐾”

“Lauren & Cris took loving care of my two 8-month-old chihuahua mix puppies for a full week. I received photos of the puppies playing and getting snuggles almost daily. It was so reassuring to see the dogs having a good stay and knowing that they were getting personal attention. I would absolutely recommend Lauren & Cris!”

“Tiffany was my main point of contact and she was so sweet and caring with my senior (14yo) husky mix Molly. I received updates each day morning, and night, and she took my Moll Doll on tons of walks. Molly got to sleep on furniture and I can tell she had the time of her life in the new comfy environment. It was such a relief knowing that she was so well loved while I was away that now I feel like I need to take her back for visits to her new favorite home away from home.”

“Amanda and her family did a fantastic job with my middle-aged lab. I got frequent pictures of her and she seems to have received the royal treatment! I was invited to come do a meet and greet, too, which was really helpful as it was our first time trusting our treasured girl with this family.”

“Dan and Claire did a great job watching Cooper. I could tell from all the pictures they shared while we were on vacation that Cooper was content, busy, and having a great time. I could see him enjoying the company of all the dogs there as well. Thank you so much!”

“Kerri was great! It was my first time leaving Oreo for so long but she updated me everyday and sent videos. Oreo has anxiety when it comes to strangers but warmed up to Kerri very quickly. If needed she will be my go to dog sitter 😊”

“A C was able to accommodate my last minute request to watch Obie and they sent pictures and took really good care of him while we were away. Will definitely book again with them!”

“Tori took excellent care of our pups. She sent us updates, pictures and stayed in contact with us the whole time. Our dogs seemed happy and relaxed when we dropped them off and picked them up. I definitely recommend Tori! Thank you for taking such good care of our furry babies.”

“Dawn was/is great!! I’m just moving to Michigan and she was able to take Spinks short notice. I really appreciate her. Spinks had the time of his life and enjoyed playing with her dog Callie. She is very responsive and will send pics and videos of your pet.”

“Great family! They absolutely exceeded every expectation in caring for my dog. Millie was showered with endless energy, boundless love, and adventures that left me with peace of mind I’ve never felt before. The family’s warmth, including their two amazing daughters, made it feel like a five-star home away from home. I left my dog with them without a second though and I’m counting the days until I can do it again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Farmington
Makenna watched my pup while we were on vacation for a week. She was prompt in our communications and flexible. Rosie seemed to be well taken care of and I'm sure she loved exploring Makenna's vast backyard. I appreciated the updates and felt like my pup was in good hands!

Thank you Brit for taking amazing care of my Diesel. I appreciate how Brit personalized care of my almost 15 year old yorkie. The updates were great and allowed Diesel to get his exercise in and make new fur-friends! I will definitely reach out the next time I need boarding for Diesel.

Rohit has been nothing short of wonderful! Benji stayed with him for a full week, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. He kept us updated every day with photos and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind and made us feel like Benji was still close to us even while we were out of town. It was clear that Benji was well cared for, happy, and loved throughout his stay. We highly recommend Rohit to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and genuinely caring to watch their pet. We can’t wait to book with Rohit again in the future!

Great stay for Kenzy! She took really amazing care of my little man! He really enjoyed himself! She kept me up to date with pics and videos. Since we have been home he misses his interactions with CoCo! I would highly recommend! We will be returning boarders with her!

Felisha was so kind to take our pup last minute! We appreciated her flexibility and friendliness. She communicated with us in a timely fashion while we were away on our trip. She seemed to know how to read dogs' behavior, and was very attentive to Rosie's needs. My pup even had a built in playmate with Freya 😊. Rosie came home happy and well-cared for. Thank you Felisha!

Karen and her husband were honestly the most kindest people I’ve ever met. My family normally takes our dog Lola everywhere we go but wasn’t allowed to bring her to Florida with us for our daughter soccer tournament so she stayed with Karen for 8 days. I didn’t worry about Lola at all because not only was she happy to be at Karen’s I knew she was completely safe.

Julie and Ari got along great. So did Julie's dog Ernie. Julie was very able to handle our timid dog's special care and meds. Very affectionate w Ari, and sent pictures of Ari's daily life which showed a relaxed dog. She was also accommodating to our schedule needs which changed before the boarding. I felt comfortable w Ari in Julie's care and will not hesitate to hire her again.

She was amazing with my Ivan pup needing a last min sitter for new years eve!! I received multiple pictures throughout the night and next day as well as updates how he was doing! She took him on multiple walks and he actually ate a lot of his food!!! He normally eats almost nothing when we travel with him. The multiple walks wore him out and he's done nothing but nap since we've gotten home with him! I will always use Ivona anytime I'm in the area and need a sitter!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
