“Thea was amazing! She was not only great with my dog but she kept me updated the entire time I was out of town! She kept my dog so happy and entertained the entire time he was with her that he came home exhausted! I highly recommend her as a pet sitter”

“Shelly was excellent and Benji must have felt comfortable with her as he was pretty calm when we picked him up. Usually he is highly excited when dad comes back. Shelly sent photo via text of Benji and his new friends. Would definitely recommend.”

“Holly made our first Rover experience a great one! She was super about responding to my initial questions and she kept me supplied with pictures and updates during Rapunzel’s stay.”

“My boy Chauncey stayed with Dan and Clare for three nights four days. I was sent multiple forgraphs to show how he was faring including him eating and sleeping. I had a GPS collar on him which showed the amount of play time and rest time he was given. (A LOT)!! Their yard is huge and fenced. Unfortunately my dog has learning to jump over cyclone fencing the week before staying with Dan and Clare; therefore, I put his GPS collar on him. They watched my sweet naughty (sporting dog - very concentrated on looking for creatures and can lose his mind by only having those thoughts in his head ;-) ) and I could tell much attention was given to watching out for him and guaranteeing he was safe. Their three dogs - after they bark upon your arrival - are very sweet and very accepting of newcomers. I would use them again in a heart beat. I travel on the road with my dog and also spend time in Texas so it will be hit and miss when the need arrives. However, should you want a safe, clean, dog "resort" for your pup go here. Lots of new smells, critters to chase and great hosts for your four legged family member, Thank you Dan and Clare!”

“Rollo loved his stay! Stephanie sent fun photo updates and even gave him first aid/bandaged his paw when he ripped his toenail. He had a blast and we’ll be sure to return!”

“Lynn was absolutely amazing! She was organized and attentive to Luna’s needs. I could tell she was in good hands. Great amount of detail in her communications. Highly recommend Lynn’s services!”

“Brian had a great time staying with Nadine and her own dog. Plenty of walks and play. She kept me updated with many photos and videos. We will definitely book Nadine & Mark again.”

“Sarge had a great time staying with Amanda, and thoroughly enjoyed playing with the other dogs. He came home happy and healthy. We received regular picture and video updates, which everyone enjoys and is greatly appreciated. Would definitely consider again for future needs. Thank you!”

“Aaron is super wonderful! Every time we book with him, he has been very attentive to the needs of our dog, he communicates multiple times throughout the stay and Rocky has a great time there! We will definitely continue to book with Aaron!”

“JoAnn was amazing! We recently adopted a dog and were a little nervous about leaving her in a new place for the first time. We immediately felt so comfortable with JoAnn during our meet and greet visit and our pup had so much fun during her stay. JoAnn took great care of her and sent us many photos and videos every day. She went above and beyond. We will absolutely bring our dog back when we need a sitter and would highly recommend JoAnn.”

I am also an avid organic gardener and I love to grow my own food. I own a quaint cottage home with a fully fenced yard. My own dog Velma is famous on the lake for being my paddleboard companion! I would love the opportunity to work with elderly or disabled animals, and am competent administering medications. It would be my pleasure to get to know your dog, cat, chicken, shrimp, goat, bird, hamster, and any other critters in your family! Feel free to contact me for references and resume. “Had to leave the country for 12 days and Lindsay accommodated us last minute. I know in my heart that Fuji’s safe and happy when he gets to stay with her. Thank you again!”

“Briana is definitely comfortable taking care of dogs. This was the first time ever to leave my puppy with a "stranger" and other dogs. My energetic puppy instantly warmed up to Briana's small dog and Briana was so calm and helped my puppy quickly become comfortable with her bigger dog. My puppy had SO MUCH FUN at Briana's with her fun dogs and huge backyard (an Australian Shepherd's dream yard). I was and would be totally comfortable leaving my baby at her home!”

“Rachel and her family did an amazing job watching Drake while I was out of town! He had a blast, they took the best care of him, she communicated great and sent plenty of pictures while I was away. Highly recommend and I will definitely be booking with her again next time I go out of town!”

“This was my first time leaving my puppy with someone besides family and Tory knew how nervous I was about this. But she calmed my nerves & was giving me constant updates with pictures which is what I loved. I would definitely be using her again in the future! Thank you Tory for being trustworthy, honest & caring towards Niko♥️”

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wonderful Dog Sitter! Bhagyesh did an amazing job caring for my sweet Sasha! ❤️ From the very beginning, I felt comfortable knowing Sasha was in good hands. Bhagyesh was caring, attentive, patient, and treated Sasha with so much kindness and love. I truly appreciated the updates and the peace of mind knowing Sasha was happy, comfortable, and well cared for while I was away. It’s not always easy leaving your fur baby with someone else, but Bhagyesh made the experience so much easier. I would definitely trust Bhagyesh with Sasha again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a caring, responsible, and trustworthy dog sitter. Sasha was lucky to have him! 🐾

This was my first time using Rover, and Kathy made this the best experience ever! She is very warm and friendly, and she took wonderful care of my little 14-week-old Cavalier, Mia. Also, she updated me every day with texts and pictures. I'm so lucky to have found an angel to care of Mia while I'm away. I definitely highly recommend Kathy to care for your pets! 🐶🐾🩵🤍

Wish I could give Daniella and her family 10 stars!!! They were just wonderful to our 10 year old Finn who has only been boarded a couple of times in his life and is a pretty spolied guy. They treated Finn just like their own and he even slept on the kid's beds! Very accommodating to last minute drop off changes and giving Finn his meds. Communication was excellent - so appreciated Daniella's daily updates. Lots of walks and play time. Finn slept for 2 days when we brought him home! It was so comforting to be away and not have to worry about him. It was obvious they truly cared for our dog. Highly highly recommend!!

We have had fantastic experiences with Luke! He has taken care of our two dogs and cat for over a week - twice this year. We felt completely at ease the entire time. He clearly spends quality time with the animals—playing with them (they love playing with his dog Rico) & keeping them engaged. Most importantly, our pets came home happy, relaxed, and well cared for, which says everything. Luke is easy to work with—great communication, quick to respond & flexible coordinating drop-off and pick-up. We really appreciated the photo updates, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. We will absolutely book with Luke again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
