“My kitties have always been cautious around strangers and typically won't greet anyone unless they know them. But within a day Sarah was able to get them to have treats from her and eat while she is around and ACTUALLY allowing them to be petted by her. They aren't the type of cats that warm up to strangers this quickly. I am pleasantly shocked and it truly warmed my heart for other people to see how sweet my little babies are. Thank you so much for doing the drop-in visits.”

“Katelin was amazing. She went above and beyond for my babies. She even brought in packages inside my house while I was away, which she absolutely didn’t need to . My cats were well fed and happy. We love her ❤️❤️❤️”

About: I’m a dog and cat lover with a Golden Retriever and older cat of my own, so I know how important it is to have someone you can trust with your pets. I work from home part-time, which gives me a flexible schedule to provide care when you need it. I’m happy to care for your pet in my home or yours—or simply stop by for some company, playtime, walks, and attention. Whether you need regular care, occasional help, or just want your pet to have a little extra love while you’re away, I’d love to help! I am currently working full-time. However, I work from home, so I can easily provide care at any time. I have my own pets at home and I don't like to be gone for longer than 4 hours without taking them out. I would prefer to take care of pets in their environment but I always treat them like family. I prefer complete honesty if a dog is fearful or tends to run or hide. Pets are like family and I take that responsibility very seriously.
“Theresa was an amazing cat sitter for my two apprehensive and cautious kitties. She put all of my anxieties at ease with daily check ins, updates, photos, and overall mood of my girls while I was away. She was honest about their quirks and made it very clear that she was not rushing them into any contact or interactions without giving them space and time to warm up. I'm so grateful for her cat sitting services.”

“Thank you so much Angela! We were nervous going out of town for the first time after adopting Zilla, but you put our worries right at ease. We really appreciated the meet-and-greet, all of the communication, and the photos! We’ll definitely be reaching out again next time we’re taking a trip. :)”

“Mackenzie was wonderful! We could tell by the photos that both cats enjoyed her visits. One of our cat is a bit of a princess and didn't eat her first two meals. Mackenzie called to report the issue right away and I assure her that the cat would be fine as long as she got her meds!”
“Megan was absolutely amazing with Axle. She spent time walking him around and playing with him in the yard. Axle looked so happy in the photos she sent of him playing. We are definitely booking her again!”

“Ana was very responsive and extremely easy to communicate with. She kept us updated at all times and took exceptionally good care of our fur babies! I highly recommend Ana and would not hesitate to use her again!”
About: I have had dogs my whole life and responsibly took care of them myself. I have also been a dog/cat sitter for many family friends throughout highschool and college! I love any and all animals and must stop to pet any dog whenever I see one! I am will to walk dogs morning or night on days that I work and can walk during the day on off days. I’m also available to make house visits to take of animals morning and night on workdays and all day on off days! Make sure they are being good and not getting into anything that could harm them while they’re in my house! Since I don’t have any fencing I would make sure to keep them in a leash when going outside
“Melanie was terrific with my 2 year old German Shepard pitbull mix. She was great with communication and pictures. Would highly recommend and will be reaching out to her again!”

About: I have had multiple pets throughout my life and have always love animals! I have so much free time to spend walking and taking care of your pets. I am currently focusing on completing my last two years of college and am in need of some extra income and while doing something I have a passion for makes it so much better. In a client's home, I will follow all rules given to me for their pet or pets! I will take care of and pay attention to your fur baby just as you would!
About: I have always been a sucker for dogs. I have been watching the pets of my friends and neighbors since I was 13 and I love it. I can walk your pupper in the morning or the late afternoon and I am available for boarding! I also have a rescue dog with anxiety issues I have experience dealing with other related issues. Since I have gotten him, he was went from very stand off-ish to an absolute sweetheart. I am willing to take your dog to any local parks as well for a change of pace. Me and my spouse just moved to the area for his work. I do not currently have a job and have lots of time to fill walking or caring for your pet! I am always a respectful guest when visiting a clients home to retrieve or care for your pet. I am a rule follower to my core, so if you have a set of house rules, I will follow them to a t.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in West Bloomfield Township. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
