“Kateri (Rebekah) was amazing! We will definitely have her back! She took excellent care of our goldendoodle, sent pictures/updates every day, and went above and beyond to take care of our house while we were gone. We couldn’t have asked for anything more!”

“Mackenzie was communicative and did a great job watching our cat! She left our home in great condition as well. We knew that taffy was in good hands while we were away!”

“This was my first time using Rover, and my expectations were beyond succeeded with Nick! After meeting Nick I was quickly at ease of trusting him with our fur family and our home while we went away on a family vacation. He is super organized, professional, and communication with him leading up to and while we were gone was great, not to mention I'm pretty sure our pups genuinely missed Nick after we came home! I could not ask for anything more, thank you Nick!!!”

“Miranda and our cats are best friends! She sent so many pictures and took such great care of our kitties. We came back and the house was in better condition than we left it. Can’t wait to hire Miranda again!”

“Jennifer was great once again! Took great care of our dog while we were away and send a bunch of update pictures. She was quick with responses and more than willing to help. 10/10 would recommend Jennifer to anyone looking for help with their pets!”

“Maya was very pleased and enjoyed her time with Ashleigh. Ashleigh showed up on time and was tentative to Maya and her doggie needs. We saw pictures of their walks and heard what Maya was dying all day. We will definitely use Ashleigh again in the future. Malinda”

About: I’m just getting started on Rover! I have lots of experience with my own two cats. And I’ve helped with dogs while babysitting kids! I have 7 years of experience in behavioral work with children and lots of those skills can be applied to cats and dogs. It’s official! I’m moving back home to MI! I’ll be available through July 20th with open availability. After that please inquire as I’m not 100% sure when I’ll be in the moving process. Farewell Wisconsin! I have two indoor only cats. They’re both ginger girls so they’re both very social and loving with their dad and I. They love it when we’re home with them to cuddle, get kisses and treats!
“Jasmine was so so wonderful with my dog! She stayed for 5 nights and she was beyond accommodating, attentive and communicative. I got to see how excited he was to see Jasmine and it spoke volumes to how well she took care of him - already have plans to rebook!!”

“Sarah was great. We are newer to using the service so she made it very easy. Great follow through and appreciated her flexibility. It was great to get daily updates and pictures. We would definitely recommend her and we will be also in the future. Thank you Sarah!”

“Brianna took amazingly good care of my dog and cats. She didn't get the slightest bit rattled when my dog had bad anxiety. She knew exactly how to care for him. My house was spotless. Thank you Brianna! See you again soon.”
“This was the first time using Rover, and we were a little nervous having someone take care of our dogs for so long, but Jordan was amazing. She communicated with us throughout our Europe trip by sending pictures and explanations of what has been going on. She seemed to really engage with the care of our fur babies, and sent us daily updates. The pups really loved her and we did too. I would definitely recommend Jordan and use her in the future!”

“When I hired Katie it was to watch my two cats, Ying and Yang. Katie met with me twice then my Yang passed away. Katie understood how significant this was to me and my other fur baby. She came over again to see Ying before I left. Katie got my anxiety about now leaving Ying without his brother for the first time. She went above and beyond to comfort both of us. I definitely recommend her.”

“Christina is extremely friendly and professional. Our animals loved her. 100% would recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter while vacationing. Thank you Christina 🫶”

“If I could have given Rebecca more stars I would have. I was leaving my almost 16 yr old dog for a week (a vacation booked a year in advance and to be honest I didn't think I would need a pet sitter) . Chance has mobility and cognitive issues and we hadn't been apart overnight from each other in years. Rebecca came and met myself and Chance. She was very open and asked questions to understand Chance's needs and my wants in terms of care. She was FANTASTIC!!! She was meticulous about his schedule and care. I told her if she had any ideas to improve his life to let me know and she did have a few suggestions that have helped. She stayed in touch with texts and pictures throughout the week. My house was in as good if not better condition than when I left. Chance gained back the 2 pounds he had recently lost before the trip as well as an extra pound. I can't recommend Rebecca highly enough. She truly cares and loves your pet as if they are her own. I wouldn't hesitate to hire her again.”

“Rebekkah was wonderful! She took great care of our pets (and house!) while we were gone. She sent plenty of updates and pictures throughout the stay. Would definitely recommend Rebekkah for your pets care. :)”

The median cost per night for house sitting in West Bloomfield Township is $50
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - West Bloomfield Township
She did a wonderful job watching our girl while we were away. She kept us updated every day and sent photos every day. Our 10yr old Great Dane is a glorified body pillow at this point, she doesn’t cause trouble and can stay alone for decent periods of time, even so, Rebecca asked us if was ok if she stayed out later one evening! Very considerate and respectful. Im also convinced that our house was cleaner when we came than how we left it. 10/10 recommend!

Josiah is an exceptional dog sitter with many years of experience working with dogs in different capacities. He is patient and kind and went out of his way to share ideas on how to help our new puppy adjust to her new environment. He kept me informed on how our puppy was doing while we were out, adhered to our puppy’s routine, and my house was exceptionally clean upon my return. I would highly recommend him to friends and family looking for a dog sitter.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Leaving our beloved dog, Lucy, for three weeks while we traveled through Europe was one of the hardest parts of our trip. From the moment we met her, all of our worries disappeared. She didn’t just care for our dog, she cared for our entire home as if it were her own. Every single day she kept us updated with thoughtful messages, adorable photos, and videos that brought us so much comfort while we were thousands of miles away. It was obvious that Lucy wasn’t just being watched; she was genuinely loved. In fact, by the end of our trip I joked that Lucy might choose her over us! Watching the bond they developed was one of the greatest gifts she could have given us. She went far beyond anything we ever expected from a pet sitter. She brought in our mail, cared for our plants, looked after our home with incredible attention to detail, and left everything absolutely immaculate. We returned to a happy, relaxed dog and a house that looked even better than when we left. What truly sets her apart, though, is the kind of person she is. She is one of the kindest, most thoughtful, trustworthy, and compassionate people we have ever met. Her love for animals is unmistakable, and the care she provides comes straight from the heart. She treated Lucy like family, and she treated us with the same warmth and kindness throughout our entire trip. Finding someone you trust with your pet and your home is priceless. Finding someone who exceeds every expectation is incredibly rare. We feel beyond fortunate to have found her. She has earned our complete trust, our highest recommendation, and undoubtedly our future bookings. We’ve already begun recommending her to our family and friends because people like her are truly one of a kind. Thank you for giving us the freedom to enjoy our trip knowing that Lucy was not only safe, but genuinely happy and loved. We will be forever grateful. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (And if there were 10 stars, she would deserve every single one.)

Me and Marley adore her! It was such a pleasure having her dog sit for me. Marley is a very anxious dog and tends to be shy around new people. Taylor was very understanding, patient, and loving towards Marley. He grew to love her and felt very comfortable with her. We can’t wait for her next visit! 10/10 recommend.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred West Bloomfield Township walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in West Bloomfield Township maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West Bloomfield Township choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
