Pet care experience
Animal empath
I've been in homes with pets all my life. Dogs, cats, birds, fish, hermit crabs, hamsters, gerbils, turtles. . . I have had my own dogs for 20 years and rescued, fostered and cared for cats along the way. I am able to connect with pets more than people.
Cat care experience

Luke also cares for cats. Learn about their cat-specific care experience.

I live on a quiet dead end road, have a large yard on a small lake with only an invisible fence that my dog no longer needs/uses. We play Frisbee every day.
Ratings and reviews
We have had fantastic experiences with Luke! He has taken care of our two dogs and cat for over a week - twice this year. We felt completely at ease the entire time. He clearly spends quality time with the animals—playing with them (they love playing with his dog Rico) & keeping them engaged. Most importantly, our pets came home happy, relaxed, and well cared for, which says everything. Luke is easy to work with—great communication, quick to respond & flexible coordinating drop-off and pick-up. We really appreciated the photo updates, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. We will absolutely book with Luke again!

Rusty had a great time with Luke and Rico. We loved getting updates of him with pictures and videos showing him having fun with his doggie friend(s).

Take care of Haha greatly. Took him several times to a dog park to meet Haha’s need. Highly recommended!

Luke was a godsend. My 14-year-old border collie mix has been rejected by many doggie daycares and he has scared a few people in the process. He never even barked at Luke. I have not been able to leave him alone for the last 13 years until Luke came along.

Review (Dogs Perspective) The Vacation I Didn’t Know I Needed! When my primary human left, I did my standard 'the world is ending' routine and immediately located my Emotional Support Blanket. I gave it a good, solid gnaw—just enough to let everyone know I’m sensitive and have complex feelings. But then, things took a turn for the awesome. The Sitter (the tall one with the kind voice) let me spend as much time as I pleaded for in the "Great Outdoors" I did so much running that my herding instincts almost kicked in and I nearly organized the backyard squirrels into a neat 3 x 3 grid! I even decided to be a benevolent queen and shared my two favorite tug-of-war toys with the resident dog, Rico. We played 'No, It’s Mine' for a good while ....it was a high-stakes negotiation, but we reached a stalemate where nobody won, which is the best kind of fun. There were plenty of treats, attention and belly rubs! Would I go back....heck yeah! This felt exactly like home... while not actually being home (maybe even a little bit more fun than home - because of all that attention and playtime) But that's my little secret, I don't want Mom thinking she's off the hook for taking me with her on future trips!

My two golden retrievers were very happy staying with Luke. He sent me picture and videos during the week long stay. I know he treated them well based on how chill they were when I came to pick them up. Definitely will bring them back to Luke next time I need to board.

Schedule
I do not have to leave home for work. I am with my dog full time and often take him with me wherever I may go. We make frequent trips to the Karner Farm dog park.
