“So kind to my senior pooch. Was always taking photo updates. She spoiled her rotten. I still thinks she wants to go back to Kelly asap for her cuddles and yummy home made food, my girl gets anxious while we're away. She had multiple dogs over and she did great. ? recommend.”

“Love Felisha for last minute accommodating our puppy LEGO though we had a place but couldn’t leave him alone !!! So we decided to search and came up with this wonderful personality who quickly responded to our query!! “Michaela and her family have been a blessing for us and our dog!! They treat him like their own and he gets along great with their precious dog, Stella. Michaela is so great with communication and sends lots of pictures of our boy when he’s with them. Traveling has been so much easier know he’s in great hands and happy. The only negative is that when we go to pick our dog up, he doesn’t want to go back home LOL. Thank you so much, Michaela!!! Briggs also thanks you and says see you (and the chickens) soon!”

“Ash is an AMAZING sitter! The second I dropped my girl off I knew should would be ok. He is kind, responsive, communicative, and clearly loves each dog as if it is his own. Thanks to Ash, I was able to enjoy a little vacation without worrying one second about my little girl. 10/10 will hire again!”

“Wow, all I can say is that Steven is AWESOME. I was afraid to leave my dogs with Steven because he watches multiple dogs together and my dogs are not good with other dogs. To my surprise, Steven sent me a video of my two dogs walking around the yard with multiple other dogs and not fighting but actually getting along. I could not believe this. As Steven informed me during the meet and greet that the only one that was worried was me and that my two would be fine. Boy, I guess he was correct. lol. He even informed me that my two were sticking together like glue. I taught them to take care of one another. I would recommend Steven for watching anyone's dog. I sure do know that he will be first on my list to call if I ever take another vacation. Again, Steven was AWESOME. He was always so polite and kept a smile on his face when speaking to me. KUDOS to you Steven. Great job. DUKE and BROWNIE say's thank you (WOOF, WOOF). Oh, I forgot the most important thing that impressed me so was the fact that since my dog DUKE has severe arthritis and was not doing the best while Steven was watching him, Steven was concerned so he contacted me after my dogs stay just to make sure DUKE was doing ok. That says volumes for me because it shows that Steven really cares and that is what makes him even more AWESOME.”

“Hali was amazing with my dog! I felt very comfortable leaving him in great hands, and Hali was sure to provide lots of updates and pictures. My dog made fast friends with her pups and came home absolutely exhausted so I know he got in lots of playtime and will be excited to go back!”

“Kayla was so amazing with our cat! she communicates very quickly and sends lots of updates :) I felt so at ease and safe leaving our little kitty with her ❤️ Will def be rebooking in the future !!!!”

“Kathy was outstanding with our pup, Cali. She provided daily updates and pictures making us feel very comfortable while being away. Will use Kathy again in the future, highly recommend!”

“Khalilah provided excellent care for Oliver. I received many updates, including photos and videos, to assure me he was doing well while we were away. Khalilah is professional, responsive, caring, and thoughtful and I know Oliver is looking forward to returning to her home again for his future pup-sitting needs. Given that Oliver doesn’t play well with others, knowing Khalilah cares for only 1 pup at a time was an especially important aspect of her care. Thank you, Khalilah!”

“We felt so confident that Georgie was having a wonderful time with Amy and her family and had a great time playing with Woody. It helps us feel better about going on vacation knowing he is well taken care of. Thank you so much Amy❤️”

I can't say enough great things about Kris and the care she provided for my dog. She spent a lot of time walking him and ensuring he felt at home and loved during his stay in her lovely home. I also appreciated her updates knowing all was going well. I highly recommend Kris if you are looking for a home away from home for your dog while you are away.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
