“Wonderful fun home for our pup! He has a great time! Highly recommend to others looking for a fun environment for their pup while they are out. We will definitely use them again when we are visiting the area”

About: I love dogs and have tons experience with them!. I grew up with dogs and have had a dog in my life at all stages. For the past 15 years, I have been fostering dogs for a local rescue. This volunteer work has given me the opportunity to care of all types of breeds, shapes and sizes. I work out of my home so your pet will get lots of attention day and night. I have a large fenced yard and a dog friendly home. I have a 9 year old Golden Retriever mix who loves to have playmates around. I’ll send you regular updates and photos of your pet though the stay. I work from home so I have a lot of flexibility to meet your pet’s daily needs. They will get a lot of outside time during their stay and plenty of attention! I care for your pet as if they were my own. I make sure I have a safe environment for your pet and only offer appropriate toys and play environments. All dogs are fed separately at mealtimes to give each time to eat at their own pace.
“Magnolia was wiped out in the back seat before we got 10 minutes down the road! Exactly what she needs while mom and dad are at work. Brianna also sent pics and videos throughout the day, which was nice.”

“Audrey was great with Buster! It seemed like he had a great time at daycare and came home happy and tired. Audrey sent updates and photos throughout and was really accommodating with drop off and pick up times. Highly recommend!”

“Gretchen had a great day with Casey. Casey was patient and accommodating with a Meet and Greet prior to first day of daycare. Great pupdate with pictures. Our little 8 pound senior girl seemed comfy and safe with Casey”

About: I grew up with dogs and have helped potty train them. I love to cuddle and play with dogs. An added bonus is my son who is 14 loves dogs. They will be able to give all the kisses if that's their thing. I work from home so they will always have company and also have the availability to go out when needed. I stay in a quite neighborhood with sidewalks so when we go on walks they will be safe. Pets will have access to the whole home. No worries. There are no toxic plants or other toxic products that they will be able to get into. This will be a nice safe haven, like a second home to them.
“Ling was wonderful! She took a dog unknown to her at the last minute for a full day and evening, and she dealt with it like a champ! She sent a lot of pictures and was very communicative and my dog was very happy when I picked him up!”

“Jennifer was awesome with our little senior papillon, Duncan! She was able to take on our last minute dog-sitting request and everything worked out fine. Duncan ended up sleeping most of the day as it was! Lol! There were other dogs there, but I felt that Duncan was safe and would be well-cared for in my absence. Thank you, Jennifer!”

“Iris & Tomas helped watch our dog while we attended a pet first aid/CPR class nearby. This was our first time having anyone watch her, so we were a little nervous. They were able to squeeze us in last minute and do a meet and greet. They sent us many photos and played with her and kept her occupied until we could pick her up. We would definitely request them again if needed!”

“Laura was so great with our 1 year old pup. She took her on adventures out and about, sent pics and videos, and was just so easy to work with. We'll definitely contact Laura again soon!”

“Chhaya and her family were very kind and wonderful, it was my puppy's first time away from home and he was a very happy and had a great time 😄 She was highly responsive throughout the experience. Thank you Chhaya!”

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
