“We would definitely recommend! I really appreciated the communication we received during booking and later the communication + photos we received during Charlie’s overnight stay. It helped us feel reassured he was in good hands. In all the pics he seemed like he was having a great time. Drop off and pick up was also very smooth. I’ll definitely book again in the future when we need help with dog sitting.”

“Holly had a wonderful experience spending the week with Vinata and her family. We loved getting our daily pictures and updates and it made it easier being away from our puppy. I would absolutely use her again! Thank you!”

“Kathy was fantastic. We had her watch our pup when we were in town for a wedding. She took time to understand our dog's personality and his particular needs. She send a couple of updates. We were very impressed by her understanding that being away from home and your people can be a little tough on pups. She gave Dooley space and let him warm up to her. Thanks, Kathy. We highly recommend!”

“Tetyana was fantastic! My pup didn't want to come home after her stay and playtime with Rocky! Tetyana was responsive, sent photos and kept me informed as to how my girl was doing. She administered medications timely and gave me great comfort during my pup's stay. I will definitely ask for her services again!”

“Anna did a great job was little Maizie, she is only 7lbs, but Anna’s Ruby was so sweet to her 🥰 Anna was really attentive to Maizie’s eating habits - she is a picky eater and was able to eat her full meal by day two, would love to rebook with Anna again.”

“We booked our trip pretty last minute and was very pleased that Alexis was accommodating and was able to watch our two pups (still call them pups even though they're nearly 3 😀). We could not be more pleased with Alexis! Immediately, she showed our pups love and they immediately gravitated to her. They had so much fun running and playing with other dogs in Alexis' spacious back yard. We know this because Alexis was kind enough to send many, many pictures and videos everyday. We looked forward to seeing those pictures/videos everyday. We missed our pups but we feel like we were able to enjoy our trip even more knowing that they were getting plenty of love, care, and attention. We will always choose Alexis whenever we need to go away without our pups!”

“Mack had a great time with April and her family. Pictures were sent each day that put smiles on our faces. Mack totally enjoyed his new canine friends, Ginger and Piper and is looking forward to a return visit. We will definitely be using April again! I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great place for their furry friend.”
“Misty did a great job watching our dog! She was flexible and responsive to drop off and pick up times, gave frequent updates, and genuinely seems to enjoy and care about animals. Judging by the pleasant smell of our dog at pickup, I think Misty even gave our dog a bath. Will be booking with Misty again in the future!”

I have a 15 yer old chihuahua, an 18 year old cat, and we rescued an 8 month old mixed breed dog! I can work with larger stronger dogs and smaller feisty dogs, I can work with high energy, low energy and senior as well! I work full time but would love to for a walk or a visit to your fur babies after my shift or later in the evening and on the weekends! I have a fenced in yard with two dogs and an indoor cat, both dogs are kennel trained and w have an extra kennel for a visitor, if in your home I will follow whatever instructions you leave.
“Lynn was a fantastic fit for our Ace. She spent an hour meeting with us and invited us into her home. She was very thorough & organized. She accommodated our every request and always respond quickly & professionally to all our concerns & questions. We’ll definitely be asking Lynn to take care of Ace during any of our future vacations.”

“Bradley took wonderful care of our dog and was a lifesaver. We were going out of town for a week, and had planned to board Sherri at a kennel, however after a horrible evaluation day at the kennel we decided that it just wouldn't work. She was miserable and scared the whole five hours she was there. So we started looking for other options. We found Bradley and after a meet and greet with Sherri, concluded that it could work. What a great experience it turned out to be. Sherri was very at ease with him and the other dog he was watching. Bradley sent a daily update and picture, and told us that Sherri was chill and just lounged around during the day. For reference, when we have previously left Sherri with a friend for a weekend, she's been anxious and refused to eat. We are planning to rebook with Bradley for our next vacation.”

“We’ve been regular clients of Cynthia’s, but this was our first time boarding Newt with her, and it couldn’t have gone better! She gave us updates, took hilarious pictures, and made sure Newt had the best time playing outside and snuggling inside. Newt came home happy, tired, and so well-loved. We’re so grateful for Cynthia and highly recommend her to anyone!”

“Outstanding stay with Ash. Right from the beginning he was great with Ace and safely had him meet another dog he was boarding . Throughout the stay he kept me well informed with pictures and texts , and he constantly took him for walks and provided great care. Would recommend and will use again!”

“Anthony is the absolute best! We feel so comfortable leaving her in his care. He sends tons of pictures and always has the dogs out playing. Izzy is always exhausted when she comes home. We wouldn’t leave her with anyone else and I always tell pet parents about him. Thanks again Anthony!”
“Marissa did an awesome job taking care of my dog for 10 days. This was the first time we left him for a long period of time and he did great. He got a lot of attention and love, and he hesitated coming back home since he had so much fun! She also took care of him for a few weeks in the past for daily day care, and he had a blast! He used to get so excited going into the car every day to go to her house.”

“Laura was amazing! Her house was spotless and tidy, so there was nothing for our pups to get into. The pups had a large yard to run around in. She sent us daily updates from their walks to the lake, so our dogs got really good exercise while with Laura. We were so happy with her, that we actually recommended her to a friend, while our dogs were still there! We will use her again 100% for our next out of town trip. She even went above and beyond, as one of our Frenchies got a paw infection 2 days before out trip. Laura administered medicine and even did epsom salt soaks on her paw. We could not be happier with how our dogs were taken care of.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
