“Kim and Joe exceeded expectations for my first time using Rover. They are not only exceptional at caring for pet children, but are very clearly just genuinely kind and caring people. I had just as much fun receiving updates from them as I did enjoying my vacation! It was Halloween weekend and they even found him a costume to dress up in ❤️ Looking forward to Chief staying with them again in the future.”

“Alexis is the very best! I hesitate to leave this review because I don't want her to get so busy she doesn't have time for my boy Chase! Chase loves going there and being with her other furry friends! What a blessing to have found Alexis!”

“Amazing, definitely highly recommend. Our dog and cat are very social and need a lot of attention and they were very happy and comfortable from the start. Very responsive, friendly, provided a lot of updates and pictures. We found our go to for any future need for watching our pets.”

About: I am a Michigan transplant and an animal person with years of experience, including as petsitter, aquarist, veterinarian technician, field scientist, and farmer. I’ve worked with all creatures great and small, and am uniquely qualified to take care of your fish tank, farm animals, and exotic pets. I am also an avid organic gardener and I love to grow my own food. I own a quaint cottage home with a fully fenced yard. All animals are allowed on the furniture so that they can indulge in the comfort they deserve. I love taking quirky puppy pics in beautiful places while on hikes and adventures. Playing is a great way to establish trust and blow off steam, and I try to capture that on camera as much as possible. I am an outdoor enthusiasts, and when I lived out West I regularly offered "adventure" packages for dogs who benefitted from extended hikes. My own dog Velma is famous on the lake for being my paddleboard companion! I would love the opportunity to work with elderly or disabled animals, and am competent administering medications. It would be my pleasure to get to know your dog, cat, chicken, shrimp, goat, bird, hamster, and any other critters in your family! Feel free to contact me for references and resume. Animal - and seasonally, garden - services are my fulltime occupation, so the care of your furry family member is my top priority. Because I work for myself, I am able to adjust my schedule as needed to accommodate my clients' needs. When staying at a client's home, my practice is to leave it cleaner than when I arrived. I value my clients' trust as one of my greatest assets, and can ensure that your home and property will be respected at all times.
“Misty did a great job watching our dog! She was flexible and responsive to drop off and pick up times, gave frequent updates, and genuinely seems to enjoy and care about animals. Judging by the pleasant smell of our dog at pickup, I think Misty even gave our dog a bath. Will be booking with Misty again in the future!”

“Our puppy Benji had a great time with Vinata, Mahadevan, and their daughter. They took really great care of him. I will always try to send him to them when we plan our vacations. Thank you guys!”

“Very good Milo had so much fun and we were so happy with service every day updating us with a lot videos and photos. Ilona’s and her whole family took very good care of our Milo thank you very much”

“Tanner loved his sleep over and his new friend Rocky. Tetyana was great and sent pictures throughout Tanners stay, this helped a lot . This was our first time leaving Tanner over night and we plan on using Tetyana again in the future for sure. Pam and Fred”

“Thor loved his stay with Christina! He was happy and relaxed and enjoyed hanging out with her dogs. Christina kept me posted with pictures and updates. I would definitely rebook with Christina!”

“Carolina was absolutely fantastic! Hazel loved her time there. She was happy and tired (in a great way) when we picked her up. Carolina had excellent communication and took Hazel for a nice walk in the neighborhood, her favorite thing to do. Am definitely using Carolina again!”

“Coryn was great! She went out of her way to meet with Milagro, and even do a group walk beforehand, to get her comfortable with the transition. She was very accommodating on drop off/pick up as well. Milagro enjoyed her stay very much (especially the trip to the park). Thanks Coryn.”

“Tory was amazing with Daezee. Daezee can be anxious. Especially in new environments. But Tory was a calming presence for Daezee and made her feel so comfortable. I highly recommend Tory and am grateful for the exceptional care she provided.”

“Laura and Joe are so amazing!!! They treat our dog like family and he loves it there!! We could not ask for better dog sitters. They are the absolute best.”

“We had a wonderful experience leaving Rosie with Lyndsey and Justin for vacation. They were close to home, took one dog at a time, and gave us updates and cute pictures. Thank you very much!”

“My 2 year old cavapoo loved her first time at Laura’s! She came home happy & tired after playing with her new dog friends. Laura graciously accommodated a quick meet & greet before our first boarding visit so that my dog could sniff around. She provided daily updates & pictures of my puppers while we were away. I’d highly recommend her!”

About: I love dogs all my life and experienced with daily feeding routines, leash walking, potty breaks, and basic supervision. I take dogs on 3–4 leashed walks per day and closely monitor their comfort, behavior, and safety. I am a full time staying home mom so I have plenty of times to take care of your dogs. I want to make a schedule at least 5 days earlier. Calm, clean house with a yard (not fenced). Dogs are always supervised and taken on 3–4 leashed walks daily. I accept small, medium dogs only and host one guest at a time, alongside my friendly Cavapoochon Taco.
“Iris and Thomas were wonderful with our high energy pit mix! They accommodated us with pickup time which had to be later due to some bad traffic, and were quick to respond when communicating.”

“Emil watched our two Goldens while we took an Alaskan vacation for two weeks and did an amazing job!! It was so awesome getting updates, pics, and videos!! The golden boys really love him and Barkley and that made it easier for us to relax and have no worries!! We highly recommend Emil and will definitely use Emil for all of our future vacations!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Auburn Hills
Bentley had not seen Cynthia for a little bit, but as soon as we pulled up her driveway he sat up and wagged his tail and pulled us to her door! He was so happy to see her he could barely contain himself. As usual, we do not have to worry about anything when Cynthia is watching him! She gives him his pill, makes sure he is hydrated and eats, and goes out frequently and gives him a ton of attention. The pictures are adorable that she sends every day. Bentley feels like that is his other home, he just loves Cynthia!! She is the best and Bentley thinks so too!!
Erin and her family were fantastic. She replied quickly when looking for a booking, which makes you feel so much more relaxed when you can confirm asap. The meet-n-greet was easy to schedule, and allowed everyone to get comfortable. She sent pics and updates during the stay, enabling us to enjoy vacation knowing your dog is happy. Great experience.

Alexis was amazing! She was so loving and playful with our dogs, and this was one of the best dog-sitting experiences we’ve had. She sent us lots of pictures and updates, and we loved them all. I think our dogs were a little depressed when they came home because they missed her so much! 😊

I think Shivambika did a very good job with my 7 lb. Yorkshire Terrier. She learned about and respected some of his breed’s idiosyncrasies. She took him into her yard, on a leash, & to a nearby trail. No doubt he loved that. It was my fault that he had to be exposed to another dog for his last 3 days, as I initially got my return date wrong . But he dealt with that pretty well, it seems.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
