“Our first time using Rover was with Tory and we had a really nice experience! Tory was super nice and kept sending us pictures at least 3 times a day of na’vi. Our dog clearly enjoyed her time staying with Tory. We will definitely ask Tory again to take care of na’vi for any future event. We definitely recommend her!!!”

“Coryn was great! She went out of her way to meet with Milagro, and even do a group walk beforehand, to get her comfortable with the transition. She was very accommodating on drop off/pick up as well. Milagro enjoyed her stay very much (especially the trip to the park). Thanks Coryn.”

“Amazing, definitely highly recommend. Our dog and cat are very social and need a lot of attention and they were very happy and comfortable from the start. Very responsive, friendly, provided a lot of updates and pictures. We found our go to for any future need for watching our pets.”

“Sogol was a kind and loving caregiver to my dog. She sent numerous pictures and updates while we were away and even went the extra mile of purchasing a doggy gate to install at her door to alleviate our concerns of our dog running outside. I would highly recommend her to anyone. She goes above and beyond for your dog”

“I have never been more comfortable leaving my dogs with another person. I love the daily updates and pictures. My dogs are always happy with Christina!!”

“Alexis was amazing! She was so loving and playful with our dogs, and this was one of the best dog-sitting experiences we’ve had. She sent us lots of pictures and updates, and we loved them all. I think our dogs were a little depressed when they came home because they missed her so much! 😊”

“Watney loves visiting Anna and her dog Ruby! He always has a buddy with him throughout the day and Anna keeps an eye on him too. Ruby is kind enough to share her lounging bed and blankets. Couldn’t ask for a better stay!”

“Iris and Tomas were very friendly and provided prompt communication. They took great care of my 14 week maltipoo puppy. Based on the pictures I received our puppy had a great time! Would definitely book again!”

“Laura took such great care of our dog, Telly, while we were on vacation. She sent lots of updates with photos and Telly always looked comfortable and happy like she was on her own vacation. Laura carefully read our instructions for care and feeding at drop-off and made sure she understood Telly’s needs before we left. She even cooked Telly more chicken to top her dog food with once the chicken we provided ran out. You can tell Laura truly loves dogs and I had no worries about leaving our pup with her for the week. I would definitely hire Laura again and highly recommend her to anyone else looking for a dog sitter!”

“Misty did a great job watching our dog! She was flexible and responsive to drop off and pick up times, gave frequent updates, and genuinely seems to enjoy and care about animals. Judging by the pleasant smell of our dog at pickup, I think Misty even gave our dog a bath. Will be booking with Misty again in the future!”

“Laura was awesome! Sent me daily updates and pics of my puppy. She was so sweet and made me feel so reassured as a new dog mom that she was in good hands. Definitely plan to use her in the future!”

“Emil took great care of our 2 dogs while we were on a week-long vacation. We did a meet and greet beforehand to make sure all of the dogs got along, which I really appreciated and helped me feel more comfortable. It was our first time leaving the dogs that long and Emil provided daily updates and pictures- the dogs had a great time! Thank you for taking such great care of our pups!”

“April is fantastic!! She takes such good care of my dog that I can enjoy my vacation and do not have to worry!! My dog enjoys her time with her family and dogs. April sends pictures and is great at communicating. We have used her multiple times. Lily comes back happy and tired out. We are so happy that we have found a wonderful sitter!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Auburn Hills
Cynthia provides the absolute best care for our little Boston, Olive. Olive loves her time with Cynthia and always comes home happy. We get the best pictures of Olive and can see how much fun she has exploring Cynthia’s awesome yard and getting played with, and how content she is making herself at home and getting lots of attention and snuggles.

Alexis was amazing! She was so loving and playful with our dogs, and this was one of the best dog-sitting experiences we’ve had. She sent us lots of pictures and updates, and we loved them all. I think our dogs were a little depressed when they came home because they missed her so much! 😊

I think Shivambika did a very good job with my 7 lb. Yorkshire Terrier. She learned about and respected some of his breed’s idiosyncrasies. She took him into her yard, on a leash, & to a nearby trail. No doubt he loved that. It was my fault that he had to be exposed to another dog for his last 3 days, as I initially got my return date wrong . But he dealt with that pretty well, it seems.

Marissa did an awesome job taking care of my dog for 10 days. This was the first time we left him for a long period of time and he did great. He got a lot of attention and love, and he hesitated coming back home since he had so much fun! She also took care of him for a few weeks in the past for daily day care, and he had a blast! He used to get so excited going into the car every day to go to her house.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
