“Briana is definitely comfortable taking care of dogs. This was the first time ever to leave my puppy with a "stranger" and other dogs. My energetic puppy instantly warmed up to Briana's small dog and Briana was so calm and helped my puppy quickly become comfortable with her bigger dog. My puppy had SO MUCH FUN at Briana's with her fun dogs and huge backyard (an Australian Shepherd's dream yard). I was and would be totally comfortable leaving my baby at her home!”

“Brenda and her husband were the sweetest people that I’ve had watch over my dog due to my trip getting canceled. She kept my dog and took care of her until I had to get back safely. I highly recommend her. She was extremely kind and caring and sent me a lot of pictures and videos and kept me updated.”

“Super kind and communicated with an update once a day. Definitely recommend to anyone that needs help with their four-legged family member. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again for future dog-sitter needs.”

“Winston came home a happy dog! He was well cared for. They loved all of his quirky habits. Having him stay at a place where he was comfortable allowed us to have more fun on our vacation.”

“We had such a great support from Mayrannie. She sent us Dingdong's picture everyday and seemed Dingdong was also happy. Definitely we recommend Mayrannie. Fence wall is completely surrounded at her home and it's spacious so any energetic dog can be best fit. Mayrannie's dog Kiara is also very nice. We will ask her help again.”

About: I have taken care of my dog since I was 10. Whenever I visit friends and family, I always show the dogs all the love, because they deserve it 🥰. I can handle anything from big dogs as well as the little ones with small dog syndrome! Im currently in medical school so I can spend plenty of time and walk between study session. My family is also often home to provide extra love and care for your pet! I always respect and follow any directions from the dogs’s owner. The well-being of all animals, including dogs of course, is very important to me.
“Tracy was amazing with our girl, Mia!! We are super picky with who we choose to care for her and Tracy definitely met our expectations!!! We received updates and photos multiple times a day…and she was so accommodating when our pick up plans had to change. We will definitely have Tracy care for Mia again in the future!!!”

“Meera had a great stay at Vinata’s! This was her 2nd time staying with them and we’re very happy with how well she was looked after. We got multiple pictures a day with updates. We are very thankful to Vinata and her family!”

About: Hi! I’m 30 years old and I’ve been around dogs my whole life. I grew up in a house full of dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities—my mom always had rescues and mixed breeds, so I’m very comfortable with different temperaments and energy levels. Today, I have my own adopted 16 lb mixed-breed dog, and caring for him has only deepened my love and experience with dogs. I’m confident handling puppies and energetic dogs, and I truly enjoy walks, playtime, and giving them attention and care. For safety reasons, I prefer not to work with dogs that are overly aggressive or difficult to manage. My experience is focused entirely on dogs, so I’m not the best fit for cats or other types of pets. I’m available to foster small dogs in my apartment. I work from home and I’m able to walk him/her 3/4 times a day. I’m also available for drop-in visits between 6 AM–8 AM and anytime after 5 PM. I live in an apartment with a fenced area, which is great for safe outdoor time. I’m also happy to take your dog on walks outside around the neighborhood. I can feed, play with, and walk your dog, making sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, and care while you’re away.
“Karen was the best choice for me and my Libby. Libby normally has separation anxiety, but I came back from my trip to a happy and healthy dog. Karen gave all the love and care Libby needed. Karen treated Libby like family, and Libby seemed to feel right at home.”

“Rahied took amazing care of our puppy, Coco! We had a last-minute non-pet friendly trip come up and he was able to accommodate our request of having her stay in his home within twelve hours of booking. We had contacted him the previous evening in case our possible sitter fell through. It was her first time being away from us and we were all very anxious. Rahied put our minds at ease as he is extremely kind and communicative. He responded very quickly to messages through the app. He was also very understanding when our puppy had an accident in his house. She's completely potty trained but I will only go potty in our backyard usually, almost never going when we are on walks. Rahied continue to take her out frequently in his yard and walks to try to get her to go. He showed genuine care and concern for her which was reassuring to us that we had made the right choice entrusting him with our puppy's care. Coco even came home with a new toy that she apparently grew attached to while at Rahied's house. She came home happy like she had a great time! We would definitely recommend Rahied!”

“Kathy was fantastic. We had her watch our pup when we were in town for a wedding. She took time to understand our dog's personality and his particular needs. She send a couple of updates. We were very impressed by her understanding that being away from home and your people can be a little tough on pups. She gave Dooley space and let him warm up to her. Thanks, Kathy. We highly recommend!”

“Aaron took great care of my pup. Be provided updates and let me know how he was doing whenever I asked. Einstein was provided a safe and secure environment with plenty of space. 10/10.”

About: I’ve had small dogs for over 20 years. Currently I do not own a dog and would love to care for other peoples pets who are in need of care. I provide a safe space with an enclosed yard where there will be no jumping rough play or larger dogs. I know that importance of feeling that your companion is safe and being well cared for. I have a flexible schedule and can provide plenty of attention, potty breaks, playtime, and walks throughout the day. I keep my calendar up to date and will communicate with you if I have any commitments during your pet’s stay. My goal is to provide a calm, reliable environment where your pet feels safe and cared for. Your pet will stay in a clean, smoke-free home with no resident pets, providing a quiet, low-stress environment. I have a securely fenced yard for supervised outdoor time and will follow your pet’s normal routine, feeding schedule, medications, and any special instructions. I’ll send regular photo updates so you can feel confident your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for.
“I’ve used rover a few times before booking with Sarah. I had a few concerns of my dog not eating on past stays but at Sarah’s my pup ate his food everyday. She took him on walks, he got to enjoy her yard and had a child to play with. Him staying at Sarah’s was like his own mini vacation while I was on vacation. She was sure to keep me up to date every single day with photos and texts. Great experience!”

“my dogs must have enjoyed it because they didn’t act any different getting in the car and going home. They barely missed us. I can tell this family enjoyed taking care of my dogs and I was able to enjoy my time away knowing they were in good hands.”

So, this was our first time doing this and honestly best experience we could ask for! Amanda was fantastic we did a meet and greet a day prior and it was great seeing our dogs enjoy other dogs other than each other. The pictures were sent and we loved that! Again if I could give 10 I would give 10 stars!

I left my two very sensitive and very athletic Whippets with Bailey and Chase...they treated my girls kindly to take care of their sensitive nature, and their six foot privacy fenced, wide open yard took care of their need to ramble. I won't hesitate to let my ladies stay Chase and Bailey's Inn again on another trip.

Misty was such a great dog sitter for our girl, Trudy! She was extremely responsive, very flexible, and kept us updated with pictures throughout the week. Trudy had so much fun playing w/ Misty’s two dogs :) we did a meet & greet beforehand, and I automatically felt comfortable keeping Trudy there while we were gone. We would recommend her to family/friends and will rebook in the future! Thank you Misty :)

Angel was amazing and she took really great care for my dog, Coco. I had zero worries for him while I was gone because I knew that she would take good care! She gives a perfect amount of updates about how Coco was doing and she was extremely kind. You can absolutely trust her !

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
