“We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter in Whitley! Our dog, Pepper, had the best time and was so well cared for. The communication was fantastic, and we loved knowing she got to play with Ollie the whole time—they became the best of friends! We’ll absolutely have Pepper stay again. Highly recommend!”

“Miranda and Erica provided a truly loving home for Honey. Always a good sign when your dog wants to stay and not get into the car. Having a fenced back yard was a real treat for Honey. But all the cuddles she got was the highlight. We will definitely book again.”

“Christopher and Cassandra took such great care of our pup Raven! They were great at communicating and sent us photos and videos of her playing and having a great time.”

“Tara and Gary were able to accommodate my last minute request. Sending me pictures and video keeping me in the loop of little rockys first time away from home. She treated rocky like her own and he was tired out from the fun he had. You can tell they really care. Thank you again for taking care of my fur baby!”

“Wonderful experience with Alia & Ian. Nugget came back happy and relaxed. Great communication and genuine care. She’s already looking forward to her next visit!”

“Maritza & Daniel did a wonderful job taking care of our Border Collie, Kaylee, while we were out of town for a few days. The updates and pictures they sent kept us informed as to how Kaylee was settling in and showed how happy she was to become a regular part of their day!”

“Jenna was amazing! She helped us out with a last-minute request and made everything so easy. Her communication was great, she sent plenty of photos, and it was clear that our puppy Poppy had the best time. We felt completely at ease knowing Poppy was in such good hands. We’ll absolutely be booking with Jenna again!”

“Tiffany was my main point of contact and she was so sweet and caring with my senior (14yo) husky mix Molly. I received updates each day morning, and night, and she took my Moll Doll on tons of walks. Molly got to sleep on furniture and I can tell she had the time of her life in the new comfy environment. It was such a relief knowing that she was so well loved while I was away that now I feel like I need to take her back for visits to her new favorite home away from home.”

About: I’ve had small dogs for over 20 years. Currently I do not own a dog and would love to care for other peoples pets who are in need of care. I provide a safe space with an enclosed yard where there will be no jumping rough play or larger dogs. I know that importance of feeling that your companion is safe and being well cared for. I have a flexible schedule and can provide plenty of attention, potty breaks, playtime, and walks throughout the day. I keep my calendar up to date and will communicate with you if I have any commitments during your pet’s stay. My goal is to provide a calm, reliable environment where your pet feels safe and cared for. Your pet will stay in a clean, smoke-free home with no resident pets, providing a quiet, low-stress environment. I have a securely fenced yard for supervised outdoor time and will follow your pet’s normal routine, feeding schedule, medications, and any special instructions. I’ll send regular photo updates so you can feel confident your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for.

“Kara was amazing! She took such great care of my boy, Gus. He is a bit high maintenance and needs quite a bit of care to keep him healthy and when he came home from Kara’s, he was happy and healthy!”

“Heather is IMO a “dog whisperer”. My finicky old dog stayed with her for 10 days. Heather is calm, patient and seems to intuitively know how to keep a dog happy and content. I really appreciated her help.”

“Queeny has watched our pup several times and always takes excellent care of him. She sends pictures and videos of what they did that day along with a short text update. Great communication, 10/10 would recommend!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Bingham Farms
Hannah was absolutely AMAZING with our 2 high energy boys! It was my first time using a rover sitter & I would bring my babies back to Hannah 100 times over. She was so kind & understanding and I could tell she really listened to every thing I told her. Bleu is typically nervous around men so I wasn’t sure how he would be in a house with a man, but Hannah’s fiance was an ADDED BONUS! He and Bleu played every day & just loved eachother. Their kind & calm energy was apparent the second we stepped into their home to pick up our boys- my pets were so freaking calm and relaxed and it put any guilt I had at ease! I will be using a sitter more often now that I know how amazing she will be to my boys!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
