Pet care experience

Large fenced yard for lots of play

I have been pet sitting for over 15 years. I've also had my own pets since I was a child. When I have dogs in my care they are treated as my own. We all go for walks or play in my large, fenced yard when the weather permits. If its winter, we play inside - tug of war, ball throwing, etc. Please note I do not watch unfixed males or females. I will make exceptions for puppies (less than a year old).

Safety, trust & environment

When I have dogs in my care they are treated as my own. We all go for walks or play in my large, fenced yard when the weather permits. If its winter, we play inside - tug of war, ball throwing, and it's not uncommon for my girls to play "tag" with each other or their friends that come "visit".

I had never left my dog with a sitter before, but Courtney came highly recommended by a coworker whose family has used and trusted her for a long time. After meeting her in person, it was easy to see why. During our meet and greet, Courtney was professional, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. She took us out to the yard so Atticus could run around and showed us that it was fully and securely fenced. Inside the house, Atticus was free to explore, and Courtney was completely comfortable with him being on the furniture and going into different rooms. She asked detailed questions about Atticus’s routine, including feeding times, care preferences, and any medications. She also explained what we should pack for him and gave us a full tour of her home. I did ask about a negative review I had seen from Thanksgiving. Courtney was very open about it, explained the situation clearly, and even offered references from other clients. After hearing her side, it was clear that it was an isolated incident involving a poorly trained dog and an owner who wasn’t accountable. Throughout Atticus’s stay, I felt completely at ease. Courtney sent photos of him relaxed and cuddling on the couch, followed by more pictures the next day of him playing in the snow. When I picked him up, Atticus was happy, healthy, and clearly well cared for. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Courtney again.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Courtney is truly an outstanding pet sitter. She has watched my dog many times and I can’t believe this is my first time leaving a review — she absolutely deserves one. She cares for my dog as if he were her own, and knowing he’s with her gives me complete peace of mind. Her fenced-in yard is amazing and perfect for safe playtime, and she always keeps me updated with photos and messages so I never have to wonder how he’s doing. She even cared for him when he was a puppy and helped me through his very first ear infection. She immediately let me know something wasn’t right, recommended a vet visit, and walked me through how to care for his ears going forward. As a new dog owner at the time, I appreciated her knowledge and calm support more than she knows. My dog absolutely loves her and gets excited every time he realizes he’s going to her house. She’s patient, responsible, attentive, and genuinely loves the animals she watches. I trust her completely, and I’m so grateful to have found someone who goes above and beyond every single time. If you’re looking for a sitter who will treat your pet like family, look no further — Courtney is the best!

***INCOMPETENT DOG SITTER ALERT*** My dog was supposed to be with her over thanksgiving break. During meet and greet,I had mentioned about my dog being capable of jumping fences/ opening cabinets and getting into trash. First 3 days she was fine. Second last day she texts me in the evening saying that my dog broke out of her crate( which she never has in past 3.5 years) and ate chocolates, almond butter and bread. The crate was probably not locked properly or set properly .(I had asked her if i shud set it up for her when i dropped my dog off, to which she denied) I understand that accidents happen but to take responsibility of it is not something she did. She was very rude and pretty much wanted to get rid of my dog immediately after the incident. She just put the crate outside and slammed her door . BASIC HUMAN VALUES/ CUSTOMER SKILLS - 0 . Dog Sitter competency - 0 POLITENESS - 0 THIS IS MORE OF A SIDE HUSTLE THAN ANYTHING ELSE! And I PAID for this service so much, there’s basic expectations set when someone is paying you for a service. Its common knowledge to be polite with business customers. I guess it wasn’t so common in this case. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND HER TO ANYONE!!!

Schedule

I work remote, from my home, and generally only go in to my office 1 or 2 days a week. When I am home, animals are left uncrated and have the run of my house. There are several dog beds around my house, plus they are allowed on the couches. I generally keep them out of the human beds during the day, but I don't mind bending the rules sometimes 😉 We take lots of potty breaks and walks throughout the day when I am working from home. If I have to go in to the office, I'm generally only gone for about 6 - 7 hours max.
