Availability

I work remote, from my home, and generally only go in to my office 1 or 2 days a week. When I am home, animals are left uncrated and have the run of my house. There are several dog beds around my house, plus they are allowed on the couches. I generally keep them out of the human beds during the day, but I don't mind bending the rules sometimes 😉 We take lots of potty breaks and walks throughout the day when I am working from home. If I have to go in to the office, I'm generally only gone for about 6 - 7 hours max.

Safety, trust & environment

When I have dogs in my care they are treated as my own. We all go for walks or play in my large, fenced yard when the weather permits. If its winter, we play inside - tug of war, ball throwing, and it's not uncommon for my girls to play "tag" with each other or their friends that come "visit".

Please note I do not watch unfixed males or females. I will make exceptions for puppies (less than a year old). Animals should be UTD on all their shots.

A typical day

I am an early riser, so we are generally up at 5:30 for breakfast and potty. I log in for work at 7 am and generally work until 3 or 4. While working, all dogs have the run of the house and there are large dog beds in almost every room of my house for then to snooze on. They are also allowed on the couches. In between meetings, we will go outside to play and, if I have enough time, we might even fit in a walk around my neighborhood. Dinner is usually between 4 and 5 and then we relax for the evening. If the weather is good we will go for a walk. If it is a day that I go into the office, I am usually only gone 8 hours max. I live very close to my office so it's a quick drive and it is not usually mandatory that I go in unless it is for important meetings, etc.

I had never left my dog with a sitter before, but Courtney came highly recommended by a coworker whose family has used and trusted her for a long time. After meeting her in person, it was easy to see why. During our meet and greet, Courtney was professional, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. She took us out to the yard so Atticus could run around and showed us that it was fully and securely fenced. Inside the house, Atticus was free to explore, and Courtney was completely comfortable with him being on the furniture and going into different rooms. She asked detailed questions about Atticus’s routine, including feeding times, care preferences, and any medications. She also explained what we should pack for him and gave us a full tour of her home. I did ask about a negative review I had seen from Thanksgiving. Courtney was very open about it, explained the situation clearly, and even offered references from other clients. After hearing her side, it was clear that it was an isolated incident involving a poorly trained dog and an owner who wasn’t accountable. Throughout Atticus’s stay, I felt completely at ease. Courtney sent photos of him relaxed and cuddling on the couch, followed by more pictures the next day of him playing in the snow. When I picked him up, Atticus was happy, healthy, and clearly well cared for. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Courtney again.
