“Grace is awesome! Took great care of Daisy on very short notice. Was professional and kept a good eye on Daisy and kept her active with lots of photos. Can’t recommend Grace highly enough!!”

“Judy provided great communication the entire trip and ensured my dog got the correct medications. She left the house clean and it gave me peace of mind knowing Judy was at home with my dog.”

About: Hi! I’m Katherine — a professional pet sitter with over 30 years of hands-on experience caring for cats, dogs, and small animals. Pet care is my full-time work, and your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are always my top priority. I’m known for being reliable, communicative, and calm, even with shy, senior, or medically complex pets. ⸻ 🐱 Cat Care I have decades of experience caring for cats of all ages and temperaments, including seniors and special-needs cats. I understand that many cats thrive on consistency and quiet routines, and I tailor each visit to their individual comfort level. I’m comfortable with: • Oral medications and pill administration • Eye drops and topical medications • Litter box care and monitoring output • Senior cat support and gentle handling • Multi-cat households • Shy or anxious cats who need patience and time I take care to follow your cat’s routine closely — including feeding preferences, hiding spots, play style, and comfort needs — so they can stay relaxed while you’re away. ⸻ 🐶 Dog Care I also provide attentive dog care with an emphasis on calm, structured visits. Experience includes: • Drop-in visits and potty breaks • Leash walking and basic training reinforcement • Puppies and senior dogs • Multiple-dog households ⸻ 🏥 Special Skills & Safety • Experience with senior pets and medical needs • Comfortable transporting pets to the vet in case of emergency • Familiar with pet CPR concepts and emergency response • Careful attention to dietary restrictions, allergies, and instructions • Detailed visit updates so you always know how your pet is doing ⸻ 🕒 Availability & Reliability • Flexible schedule with availability for daily drop-ins • Punctual, dependable, and consistent • Comfortable with short-notice requests when possible • Meet-and-greets always welcome I treat every home and pet with respect, and my goal is for you to feel completely at ease while you’re away. ⸻ A Note About Boarding While I have a fenced yard and a friendly resident dog, I am not currently offering boarding. This may be an option in the future. I’m currently focused full-time on Rover, which allows me to be flexible with scheduling. I take recurring visits, vacation care, and most drop-in requests. Feel free to reach out so we can find a schedule that works well for you and your pets. In your home, I’m careful about: • Preventing door escapes by entering and exiting slowly and deliberately • Securing doors, gates, crates, and harnesses before and after walks • Following all household routines exactly as outlined • Keeping doors and spaces as I found them For cats specifically: • Extra care around entryways to prevent bolting • Checking closets, cabinets, and enclosed spaces before closing doors • Monitoring litter box habits and alerting owners if anything seems off • Keeping play areas free of potentially unsafe items For dogs: • Double-checking leashes, harnesses, and equipment (especially for escape artists) • Respecting boundaries such as baby gates or restricted areas • Ensuring a calm, controlled environment during visits and walks I keep detailed notes and send regular photo updates so you know exactly how your pet is doing. I also take pride in leaving your home clean, secure, and just as you left it. Your pet’s safety — and your peace of mind — always come first.
“Brea did a great watching our three dogs while we were out of town. In addition to that, our furnace had broke, and Brea took on extra duties of keeping our pups warm and the house, too. Now that the dogs know her, we will have again to watch the dogs.”

About: I have been caring for cats and dogs ever since I was young. I have cared for animals of all ages young to senior. I have experience administering pills and I have helped follow suit of owners training while they are away. I currently do pet sitting full time, and it is the best job I could ask for! I love filling my days with overnights, dog walking, and drop in visits. More often than not, I am somewhere snuggling and giving attention to dogs and cats! I will be extra attentive and follow the same routine that they are used to. Walks, playing fetch, whatever the case may be I will do my best to make your animals feel comforted and cared for while you, the owner, is away. I will care for them as if they are my own.
“We had a good experience with Lauren for overnight with our 2 dogs and 1 cat. I can only say I wish there were a few more updates throughout, but absolutely no issues. Thank you, Lauren”

“Cameron did a great job while watching my two huskies. I was out of town for two days and one night and he did exactly as I asked and took great care of my girls. I look forward to using Cameron again in the future.”

About: I have experience in dog training, dog fostering and volunteering at animal shelters with many different animals. I absolutely love working with dogs and will be studying at Columbia Law School to eventually work in animal rights! I am currently free everyday at whatever time is needed. I will be working a couple part time jobs so just need a little bit of notice to make it work:) I have worked with all ages of dogs and all different behaviors and am happy to do a meet and greet before the first care day!
About: I have been an animal lover since a young age. I have a three year old puppy that loves other dogs. I have pet sat and boarded many dogs and they were nothing less than spoiled! I live on a lake so if your dog loves the water it will have the time of its life, if not, that’s okay too! I am very active so walks can happen frequently. If you are interested in boarding with me I require that your dog is house trained (exception for puppies because they are learning and I can work with that), good with dogs, and doesn’t mind kids nearby. I currently work at a daycare 3 days out of the week from 8AM-6PM with an hour long break that I will use to spend time with your pet! But, my weekends are completely open! In my clients home I would care for their pets the exact way that they do and how they instruct me to do so! :)

“Jessica was absolutely wonderful with Asher! He’s a friendly, affectionate dog, but he can be a little cautious in new situations and with new people. Jessica was patient, intuitive, and gave him the time he needed to warm up. Before long, they were enjoying playful moments together, and it was clear she understood his personality—especially letting him lead the way on their walks, which he absolutely loves. Jessica was also an excellent communicator throughout the weekend. She shared thoughtful updates and just the right number of photos, giving us peace of mind without overwhelming us. It was clear Asher was happy, relaxed, and well cared for. On top of taking such great care of Asher, she left our home spotless and tidy. We came home to a happy dog and a beautifully cared-for house. We can’t wait to have Jessica stay with Asher again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and thoughtful sitter!”

“Pavlina was amazing!! She took great care of Bodi and our home, and we look forward to booking here in the future. Bodi says, "Thank you" for taking such good care of him.”

“Sarah took such amazing care of our dog, two cats, and home while we were out of town. She provided picture updates throughout the day. I didn’t have to worry at all about my babies while we were gone. Her communication was top notch. I will definitely use Sarah again!”

“Charles was amazing! We house sat for us for eight days and we have a quite a crew with two dogs, two cats and seven chickens. He was very communicative from before we booked through the trip, sending pics every day and reaching out whenever he had a question. He also watered our flowers. It was such a great experience to have a sitter our pets loved and who took such good care of our house. We will definitely have Charles hang with out pets again!”
“Samantha was great! I am pretty sure our dogs were sad to see us come home:-) They had trail walks, pup cups and lots of love. Samantha stayed for 3 nights and my house was kept in good order. We will definitely use Samantha again.”

“Jennifer was awesome and I would highly recommend her to watch your pets. We hired her for a 5 day/4 night engagement to watch our moderate energy 5 year old Bernese mountain dog. She sent pics and texts a few times a day which eased my mind! He got plenty of walks and love. Jennifer approaches this form a business owner perspective and even had a PDF “Pet and House Guide” for me to fill out ahead of time that thought of all the random pet and house info so I didn’t have to stress about what to leave notes about. In addition to all this, Jennifer even ran the dishwasher and laundry before she left. Your pets and home will be well cared for with Jennifer!”

We are so grateful to Jacqui for taking such good care of our animals while we had a long weekend out of the city. Our usually anxious dog and somewhat avoidant cat were immediately at ease with Jacqui. We got pictures and updates every day and we will absolutely book again the next time we need a sitter.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Commerce on Rover is $38.85 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 2,586 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Commerce. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Commerce walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Commerce maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Commerce choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Commerce. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
