“This was our first time using Jennifer as a cat sitter. She is trustworthy and very caring. She checked in with us after each visit and sent us pictures and notes. She followed all our instructions. We will definitely use Jennifer in the future for when we need a sitter. Highly recommend!”

“Fantastic drop in dog sitter. Always on time for drop ins and provided great notes and feedback about how he was behaving, eating, going to the bathroom and interacting with her. She also provided some very helpful tips. Can't say enough good things about how she helped with my older and more challenging dog. Will definitely be relying on her for future drop in visits.”

“Courtney did a great job taking care of my cats. I have one cat who is an escape artist, so I was very nervous he might get out. But Courtney was very careful, and there were no issues. I have been searching for a cat sitter that I can trust and feel comfortable with. I can say, I will definitely hire Courtney for our next vacation.”

“Very conscientious and a pet lover. Even held one of my guinea pigs. Spent sufficient time giving affection and playing my very lonely attention-starved cats as well. Report cards were detailed and photos are adorable. Highly recommended.”

About: My name is Shannon and I am currently a teacher that has summers off and I love spending time with my one year old golden retriever and cat. I’ve had 3 big dogs and am able to handle them on walks and help reinforce commands from owners. I am a teacher and am off for the summer so my day is pretty flexible. I have a one year old golden retriever so I walk him 2x a day but am available throughout the week. I care for my animals by offering them pets, cuddles, make sure they have clean water and food and time to play and nap.i also walk my dog twice a day and have walked and watched other larger dogs. I know cats can by shy with new people and I realize I will need to be patient your cat trusts me.

“Ray is the man!! He was great with both my cat and my silly lab. Being an ocean away from home was worrisome, but Ray made it easier on all of us, by keeping my fur-babies well cared for, and keeping me and my family aware of how they were doing. I have nothing I can say, but thank you!! =)”

About: Hi! My name is Donyelle, and I’m a dependable, caring animal lover who understands how important it is to find someone you can truly trust with your pets. I’ll treat your pets like family and make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. Since I currently have open availability, I’m able to provide flexible scheduling, including weekdays, Saturday’s, mornings, afternoons, and last-minute bookings when available. I’ll be your pets second best friend! Creating a safe, calm, and trustworthy environment for your pets is always my top priority. I understand that every pet has their own personality, routines, and comfort levels, and I take the time to make sure they feel secure, relaxed, and cared for while in my care.
About: I take care of dogs of all sizes— from little Jack Russels all the way up to Bull Mastiffs and St.Bernard’s! My aunt used to run agility with her dogs so I often got to help reinforce behavioral teaching. I work in a hybrid office setting, so while I may need to go into the office some days, I always do my best to maintain your pet’s routine while you’re away! Since I have two dogs who have trouble socializing, I generally come to my clients. I ask about any special commands or needs or scheduling for the pets up front so that they have some consistency while you’re away!
About: Hi! I’m a social work student with a lifelong love for animals and hands-on experience caring for dogs. I grew up with dogs and have a strong understanding of their behaviors—what they need, how they communicate, and what that means for the people who love them. I know how much pets are a part of the family, and how important it is to have someone you trust to care for them when you can’t be there. I’m CPR and First Aid certified, dependable, and attentive—not just to animals, but also to the routines, preferences, and peace of mind of their humans. Every pet is unique, and I’m always happy to adapt to their personality and needs with patience, compassion, and care. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or just good company, I’m here to support both you and your furry family member. Pet care fits naturally into my routine—I’m a student with a flexible schedule, and spending time with animals is something I genuinely enjoy and find grounding. Whether it’s early morning walks, afternoon playtime, or evening check-ins, I’m happy to build my day around making sure your pet feels safe, loved, and well cared for. In both my home and a client’s home, I focus on creating a calm, safe, and loving environment where pets feel comfortable and cared for. I follow any routines or preferences you have—whether that’s specific feeding times, walk schedules, or little quirks your pet loves. With my own dogs, I’ve used positive reinforcement to teach commands and tricks, and I’m always gentle and encouraging. I bring that same approach to every animal I care for—lots of praise, patience, and treats (if allowed!). I also pay close attention to body language and behavior so I can respond to your pet’s needs in real time, whether they’re feeling playful, anxious, or just want some quiet company. My goal is always to make sure your pet feels safe, seen, and loved—just like I’d want for my own.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Westland
Kristina was great, she came beforehand and met the pups. Took time to understand everything that was needed. Went above and beyond with very little notice. Gave great updates and photos, even spent a little extra time and care for our pups. Will most definitely reach out to her again without hesitation.

Highly highly recommended! Chelsea was punctual, and our dogs absolutely loved her! She made sure to give them potty breaks, and always make sure they had freshwater! I especially enjoyed receiving pictures from her visit. We will definitely be using her again in the future.

Layne did such a great job watching our German Shepherd! She didn’t mind coming over multiple times while I worked my long shift and was awesome at following directions to meet his special needs. She’s been easy to communicate with and we plan to keep asking her to watch our boy in the future

We are very thankful to have Lynn watch our two cats and one dog while we were on vacation. Because of her care and attention to our pets (our current 3 and others we’ve had over the years she has also cared for), we can enjoy our vacations without worry of whether they are being taken care of — we know they are.

Mary was very attentive to my three dogs. She brought them a stuffed lobster which was so cute! My girl dog was upset from fireworks and she was there to console her and clean up her mess. Ik how has it is with three dogs but she was able to take it on! 10/10!!

Joselin has taken care of my Shephard twice. Nala does not do well with other dogs and therefore boarding her is not an option. Joselin is absolutely wonderful with her and never fails to send me a picture during each visit. When I get home Nala is happy and safe. I could not have asked for a more dedicated pet sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Westland with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.
