“Shengyin (Sean) is the best. I will always check for his availability first whenever I need care for our cats. He cared for our pets as though they were his own and we are very grateful for that.”

About: I’ve loved animals since I was young, from caring for fish and even up to 9 guinea pigs. I now help care for my black lab and pitbull mix and truly enjoy spending time with pets of all kinds! I am currently only working part time, giving me plenty of flexibility for walks, playtime, and care visits. I have reliable transportation, so I’m able to travel as needed for visits and walks. I can provide in-home pet care and ensure that your pet feels comfortable and safe while maintaining their normal routine. I’m available for drop-in visits and dog walks, and I always give attentive, reliable care.

About: JT and I have been volunteering at the humane society, fostering pets, and pet sitting for friends, family and neighbors since we were teens. We are passionate about animal welfare and have supported our local animal shelters in every community where we've lived, from the Midwest to the Northeast. From our own pets as well as those from the shelter, we have cared for puppies and kittens along with older pets and pets with special needs. We are looking forward to bringing wags and fun times to caring for, walking, and spending time with your pets! JT and I have schedules that allow us to work from home. We can be available for lunchtime and afternoon walks and check-ins with your pets during the work week, as well as in-home pet sitting while you're away for work or vacation. Having worked in prior positions where we were gone all day away from our pets, we know how difficult it can be to make sure our pets were taken care of. We want to provide that support to our community now that we're in a position to do so! When caring for a pet in someone else's home, we like to make sure to understand routines and what that particular pet does each day. We want to be mindful of what's going to keep them most comfortable and at ease, and work with the pet parents to be as least disruptive as possible to the pet's normal routine. We also love sending photo updates of your pet having a good time!
“Laura (Mengdongxue) is an incredibly kind, warm, and thoughtful cat-sitter! I'm so grateful for how well she cared for my cat – my cat absolutely loved her. I really appreciated Laura's open communication and all the cute photos she shared.”

“This was our first time using Rover! We wanted an animal lover, and we needed someone we felt we could trust like family — Emily was just that. She met our two dachshunds and our two siamese cats at our meet and greet, and we knew she was a true animal lover. For this past trip, she looked after our two siamese cats for a week and even managed to earn the approval of our very territorial female siamese (few have done — even family members). She went above and beyond giving them the attention each of them needed based on their unique personalities, and gave us updates with every visit. It was such a relief knowing Emily was looking after our kitties and we didn’t have to worry about how they were doing. We hope to book her for our next trip!”

About: I've cared for dogs big and small since I was a child. I've volunteered in multiple animal shelters throughout the years, primarily feeding, grooming, bathing, and walking pups. I'm currently a full-time student, so unfortunately I cannot board or dog-sit in my own home. However, my hours for walking, house-sitting, and drop-ins are very flexible. I'll be sure to excercise your dog, be it on a walk or playing during a drop in. I carry pick-up bags, a water and small food bowl during walks, and have several sanitized grooming tools to help de-shed your pup!

About: I have grown up with dogs and have volunteered at animal shelters since I was 10. I have also cat-sit for various families in my neighborhood for the past 11 years. I'm currently working part-time so I'll have plenty of time to spend with your animals both during the week and over the weekend! During my drop-in visits, your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I always conduct an immediate headcount upon arrival, refresh their food, water, and litter box (if applicable), and spend the rest of the time playing with them. When house sitting, I treat your home and your pets with the utmost respect. I provide a consistent, comforting presence throughout the night, ensure all doors and windows remain strictly secured, and leave your space spotlessly clean.
“Fatima is super responsive and was very flexible when we needed to adjust our dates last minute. She is super gentle and even our very shy cat felt comfortable with her by the second time he met her! We were very impressed! We didn't worry about our cats at all while we were away. We are hoping that next time we need a cat sitter she will be available and I'm sure our cats would love to see her again.”

“Wutt did a great job taking care of my cat. She went above and beyond for the drop in visit scooping the litter box, taking in a package and making sure my cat felt safe.”

About: I hit the jackpot when I was born into a family of dog people! With personal experience in my home and at a pet-adoption agency where I volunteered, there has not been a single dog I did not love: the timid, high-energy, skittish, adventurous or couch potato. I have been a pet caretaker all my life, but I gained a new appreciation for senior care once my 13-year-old Weimaraner got sick and vet visits became routine and his food became completely homemade. I am a student at U of M taking a 3 day/week summer course, so I have plenty of time to dedicate to furry friends. I have house-sat for pet parents (2 terriers, one senior and one puppy) numerous times. I also am very familiar with signs of distress, having 2 senior dogs myself. Whether your dog needs regular walks, play time, eating on a strict schedule, or medication at a specific time, I am happy to accommodate their routine! I have so much love for any and all dogs who come my way and treat others as if they were my own.
“Ashley exceeded my expectations of care for my dog and cat. During our booking, I never felt worried that something would go wrong and she could not handle it. It was easy to work with her petsitting and communication style!”

“Kaylee was wonderful with my cat while I was away! She was reliable, kind, and communicative throughout the booking, and she completed all of the scheduled visits. I really appreciated that she asked questions when she wanted to make sure she understood the instructions, kept me updated, and let me know right away when anything came up. She also handled a small mess my cat made and was thoughtful enough to offer to come back later to check on him. It was clear she cared about him and spent time with him, which gave me a lot of peace of mind while I was traveling. I would happily book Kaylee again and highly recommend her.”

“Angela is great! She booked on short noticed and was amazing at notifying me. She sent great pictures and made sure my dogs were happy. Would definitely book with her again as she was very reliable!”

“Richard and Sasha were very patient with my shy cat, and she eventually warmed up to them! He was very communicative and always let me know how Mina was doing. Plus, Sasha's putting Mina in a book! Definitely recommend.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Ann Arbor
Melissa was great to work with! It was our first time using Rover with our new puppy, but she made the process easy and was very communicative from start to finish. Our pup seemed to have a lot of fun with her as well! We will definitely be asking Melissa to watch him again in the future.

We had a great experience with Abigail taking care of our two senior dogs over Memorial Day weekend! She was communicative, prompt, and consistently checked in when questions came up. We really appreciated her flexibility and willingness to accommodate our dogs’ individual needs and quirks. It gave us peace of mind knowing they were in reliable and attentive hands while we were away. We’d absolutely book with her again!

Melissa has been amazing with communication and was able to accommodate last-minute requests with my dogs, one of whom can be a little challenging due to his separation anxiety. My dogs had a blast with her! I would highly recommend her and will absolutely continue using her services when she’s available.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
