“Teresa was amazing! She took great care of my little guy! I felt very comfortable and you can tell she loves the animals she sits for and treats them like her own pups! She sent me a bunch of pics while I was away which reassured me he was well taken care for! Would 100% book again!”

“Renee took very good care of Bean for eleven days while my husband and I took a cruise. It was so nice to know Bean had company and was in good hands while we were away. This was my first experience with boarding a cat and the Rover app was a great help. I searched offers in my area, read Renee’s profile and we exchanged information. Bean enjoyed the meet and greet and that sealed the deal. Renee sent pictures and kept us informed. I highly recommend her service.”

“This was Charlie’s fifth stay with Kelsey, and once again she was amazing! Charlie is always excited to see her and clearly feels right at home with her family. I really appreciate the updates and photos while I’m away, and I know he’s getting the best care. The pickup and drop-off service has also been a lifesaver with my unpredictable flight attendant schedule and last-minute work changes. It’s such a relief knowing Charlie is in great hands. I highly recommend Kelsey to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and flexible sitter!”

“Jennifer was a fantastic pet sitter! She send daily updates on how Maple was doing like sleeping on her lap ❤️, it was reassuring to read how much she and her family cared. Thanks so much for your kindness 😊”

“Melissa was a great sitter for our dog Dusty. She sent pictures and kept us updated. She was flexible when we ended up being later than expected for pick-up. I'm sure Dusty had a great time and we felt comfortable leaving her in good hands. I would definitely call on her services again if and when the time comes.”

“She watched my two dogs while I went Out of the country. She did a great job keeping me updated and sending photos. My dogs were very well taken care of and happy when I saw Them. She’s someone I trust with my dogs and would use her again :)”

“Deana took amazing care of my dog, she and her husband are very friendly, comfortable with dogs, flexible with scheduling and responsive to communication. Their dog Shaggy is very sweet and friendly as well!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs since I was a child, and I truly love dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I treat every pet as if they were my own, taking the time to get to know them, understand their needs, and build a trusting relationship. I have experience caring for puppies through senior dogs, including dogs with different routines, temperaments, and special needs. I’m also comfortable administering oral medications and using positive reinforcement to help pets feel safe, happy, and cared for. Because I work from home full-time and have a flexible schedule, I’m able to accommodate a variety of needs, including some last-minute requests. I also love walking and being outdoors, so I’m always happy to have a furry buddy join me. Over the years, I’ve been a trusted caretaker for many pets, giving owners peace of mind knowing their dogs are cared for, loved, and treated with patience and kindness while they’re away. I work from home with a very flexible schedule! I can work at your house to keep your dog company. Your dog can also work with me at my home. I have a fenced in yard and/or can crate your dog if needed. I have a yappy senior chihuahua, that is all bark, no bite.
“Heather and her family were great hosts for my dog! He came home happy. It was his first time staying somewhere new and Heather helped us make sure it would be a good fit with a meet and greet before his stay.”

“I boarded my pup Coco with Teresa. It was Coco's first time being boarded, so she recommended I drop Coco off the evening before to see how it would go. She introduced the other boarding dogs one by one, showed me the yard, and made sure everyone was comfortable. She contacted me the next morning and mentioned it was going well with one of the other pups. Not the result we were looking for, but she handled it kindly and professionally -- and that's all I could ask for. Teresa was great to work with, and I would recommend her for boarding.”

“Apollo had a wonderful time at Ashley’s. He got lots of cuddles and got to play in the fenced in backyard. He always looked peaceful and happy in the photos. I booked with Ashley because I got the sense that she would be gentle and sensitive to Apollo’s emotions, and Ashley definitely proved that to be true. She seems like a gentle and kind soul who loves animals.”

“Brooklyn seemed well adjusted to JoAnn’s house and additional dogs. JoAnn sent multiple photos and comments each day during different activities. JoAnn clarified any directions on Brooklyn’s schedule and needs. We appreciated the daily communication for peace of mind. I am sure we will use JoAnn again!”

“Millie is so well cared for, which puts our minds at ease while we travel! We received videos and photos of her playing and we get her back with a nice soft coat as she gets brushed. This was Millie’s 2nd stay and we will return again!!”

“George was an excellent match for my high energy and sweet ‘petiole-person’ sheepadoodle. Winnie had never been boarded so I didn’t know what to expect. She seemed happy. She was well cared for. George kept my in the loop on what happening with her and sent pictures. Specifically his description of Winnie jumping in his lap and sitting in the lawn chair gave me confidence that she was welcomed to be her normal people-loving self. We were referred to George from a friend and will absolutely call him again.”

“We love working with Deaunna! She was very flexible and easy to communicate, offered to do a zoom or meet in person prior to our first visit. She spent time with our pup outside one on one before taking him inside. He’s shy at first but came back rested, exercised, fed and happy! We will definitely be return customers!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
