“Lindsey was an incredibly caring and loving caregiver for my senior pug. She thoughtfully updated us with pictures and updates while we were away and she was very flexible with pickup and drop off times. So happy we found her. ♡”

“Tara was great. We were nervous to leave our dog since it was the first time she was ever away from us. Tara provided daily updates and pictures which eased our minds. I will use her again.”

“When I had to unexpectedly go out of town for over a week, Jean made me feel completely at ease that my dog was in great hands. She sent detailed updates and lots of adorable pics for me to know what all my little girl was up to. And although she could tell my dog missed me, my Frankie still seemed to have a great time visiting Jean's family and dog. It made my otherwise stressful trip a little less stressful since I didn't have to worry about my Frankie. Highly recommend her to anyone needing a sitter.”

“We loved working with Chelsea. Our puppy instantly loved them and seemed happy when we got him back. Chelsea was really good at communicating through out and sent us pics of the dog and other updates.”

“Lauren and Chris always go above and beyond for my dog. They are very kind and thoughtful and take the extra step to make her feel special when she stays with them. They are my #1 sitters, highly recommend.”

“Susan did a fantastic job watching our GSP, Missy. Missy is a little anxious & nervous, and Susan knew just how to handle her. Susan provided frequent updates and pictures which assured us she was in good hands. In addition, Susan was graciously flexible with drop off and pickup times since we were working around our DTW flights. Thank you so much Susan! We will definitely consider you again for watching our Missy!”

“Daniel was the best!! He is very kind and provided much activity for my lab. He sent photos and updates. He was flexible with my drop off and pick up schedule. I would highly recommend Daniel and would re-book again when I visit the area.”
“Repeat customer since 2019. Dawn is amazing! She treats my fur baby like her own and probably spoils him a little more. She’s patient, kind and dependable. We love Dawn! 🐾🫶🏾”

“My 2 babies had their first visit with Dawn this past weekend. She sent several updates to let me know how they were doing, along with pictures when she could snap them (they hate pictures but she manages to get a few so I know she must of put a lot of effort into it ?). They both seemed relaxed and happy when I picked them up, as well as tired that evening so I know they got a lot of attention and play time while in her care. Very happy with her service!”

“I can’t thank you enough for helping me last minute watching Chelsea last week. The energy of your person and your home space is so grounding and calming was the immediate presence that I was relieved with upon meeting you. I needed my baby somewhere safe and peaceful and you provided that thank you beautiful human would love to work with you again! Tipped you in cash.”

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my background as a licensed pharmacist combined with my genuine passion for caring for dogs. My professional experience has strengthened my attention to detail, reliability, and ability to follow precise care instructions, which is especially important for pets with medical needs. I am comfortable administering medications, monitoring for changes in behavior or health, and following specific routines provided by pet parents. I also have experience caring for both energetic puppies and senior dogs. With puppies, I focus on consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement to support basic training, leash manners, and house routines. For senior dogs, I prioritize comfort, gentle exercise, and close attention to mobility, appetite, and overall well-being. Whether your dog needs active playtime or calm companionship, I adapt to their individual needs to ensure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine as I work part-time as a pharmacist, which gives me a flexible and structured schedule. My pharmacy shifts are planned in advance, allowing me to reliably set aside dedicated time for pet sitting, dog walking, and drop-in visits on my off days and around my work hours. Because my schedule is organized and consistent, I’m able to give pets my full attention when I’m with them rather than rushing between commitments. I enjoy starting or ending my day with walks, playtime, feeding routines, and check-ins, and I’m comfortable adjusting my availability to meet each pet’s needs when possible. This balance allows me to provide dependable, attentive care while maintaining a professional work life as a pharmacist. I would like to eventually grow this into a full time commitment. When caring for pets in a client’s home, my top priorities are safety, trust, and keeping their normal routine as consistent as possible. I carefully follow all instructions provided, including feeding schedules, walk routines, medication needs, and any special care directions. I treat every home with respect and make sure doors, gates, leashes, and other safety measures are handled responsibly to prevent any accidents or escapes. I work part-time, which allows me to be organized and dependable with my scheduling so pets receive focused, unhurried attention during each visit. At home, I also have a family of three teenage daughters who love animals, which helps reinforce a calm, pet-friendly mindset in my daily life. While I remain the primary caregiver during any pet sitting, our household’s appreciation for animals reflects the caring and responsible environment I bring to every visit. I always aim to build trust with both pets and their owners by being consistent, patient, and attentive, so pets feel comfortable and secure while their family is away.
“Saurabh was quick to respond when we needed a sitter at the last minute. Diesel had a good time with Saurabh and we got to see pictures during the stay. We were driving back through a snowstorm and Saurabh was nice to let us pick up a bit late. Will surely look him up again in future.”

“Cheryl was great with Dixie (18lb Yorkie-Poo). We left her for a 5 night stay; Dixie settled in quickly & bonded almost immediately with Cheryl. We recevied daily updates & photos. We will definately leave our Dixie with Cheryl again.”

“Sydney was amazing!!! Poor Charlie got sick with 2 parasites right before his visit. He was feeling much better after a few days on medication so Sydney still was willing to take him in. She continued the rest of his treatment which consisted of multiple medications at carousing times throughout the day. She continued to provide us updates through out his stay and reassured us that he was definitely on the up and up the whole time. Her location is ideal for airport travel as she is only about 10 minutes from DTW. We will absolutely use Sydney in the future!! Thank you again!”

“Snickers hadn’t stayed at a “stranger’s” house in years but she adapted well at Paula’s. Snickers thinks that she is too old to play but apparently she LOVED Paula’s big back yard. Snickers was in good spirits when I picked her up and I would definitely use her again.”

“Debbie and her husband took great care of Phoebe and she enjoyed playing with their dogs! I got daily picture updates which made it easier being away from her for a week knowing she was having fun and being taken care of so well. Thank you!!”

“Rachel was great! My pup seemed right at home almost immediately. Rachel sent plenty of updates and pictures, and communication was super easy! Will definitely go back!”

This was Ozzie's 2nd visit with Maureen and when we dropped him off, he didn't seem to care that we were leaving .... at all. Maureen took great care of Ozzie and sent daily updates with pictures while we were away. It definitely makes it less stressful to leave him when you know he is being cared for so well.
We had a wonderful experience with Tanios! This was Sparky and Milo’s first time staying with him, and they stayed for 5 nights. Milo has a little separation anxiety when we leave him, especially when staying with someone new, so on the first day he was a bit unsettled and was whining/whistling for us. He’s also a picky eater and wasn’t very interested in eating at first. To top it off, there was a thunderstorm and even a tornado warning during their stay, which made him a little more uneasy. Tanios was incredibly patient, caring, and understanding with Milo. He made an extra effort to help him feel comfortable and even gave him chicken so he would eat. By the second day, Milo had settled in beautifully and was feeling completely comfortable. Tanios was wonderful with both Milo and Sparky and consistently sent us updates, which was very reassuring, especially since this was their first stay with him. Both pups came home super happy and well cared for! We truly appreciate the care and attention Tanios gave them and would definitely trust him with Sparky and Milo again. Highly recommend!

Dialachelle was wonderful to work with! She is very communicative, kind, and professional. Most of all she seems wonderful with pets! My Shih Tzu was well taken care of, he seemed calm when I picked him up, which tells me he had a wonderful time I would definitely rebook with her!

Amanda is wonderful! She’s incredibly flexible, kind, and genuinely loves animals. You can tell she has a very caring nature, and it gave us a lot of comfort knowing our pet was with someone so patient and pet-friendly. We really appreciate how accommodating and thoughtful she is. Highly recommend Amanda to anyone looking for a sitter with a truly kind soul.

Shedia was very attentive to our sensitive female cat and took good care of her during her stay. She understands cats quite well really goes the extra mile to make sure they feel at home. Thanks for the feedback and regular updates. Also, thanks for being available on short notice.
Allison took wonderful care of Ollie. We had him at Allsion’s place for six days and she send us photos, videos and update. She was kind enough to give some of her dogs toys and treats to Ollie. From the photos she shared, we could feel he was happy and comfortable. The most special things Allison did for us was to have his paw painted (pet friendly paint) and framed. This was truly a sweet gesture and the perfect gift for his one year birthday. Allison was also truly professional during the whole boarding process. We will definitely recommend Allison as a star sitter.

I boarded my one year old puppy overnight with Jacqueline. What I loved most about my experience was that she sent multiple updates and pictures. I’ve used sitters in the past who would just send one, so getting all the updates made me feel at ease and it was appreciated. I knew when I dropped him off he would be in great hands. When I picked him up, he was whining in the car because he wanted to stay, I could tell he had a ton of fun and was tuckered out….I will definitely use her again!

Victoria was super kind to take our last minute cat boarding request. During boarding Victoria provided updates daily on how our kitten was doing, as well as sent cute videos/pictures. Sonny, our kitten, had such a great time playing with Victoria's cats and almost did not want to leave when we picked him up. Next time we are out of town for a long stretch we will definitely book with Victoria again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
