“JoAnn took care of my dog Maisie during Labor Day Weekend and sent lots of pics. Maisie had so much fun and was well taken care of. Would definitely recommend and come back again!”

“Kayla was absolutely fantastic! My Maltese, Kasie, has a great deal of anxiety, but Kayla and her family made Kasie feel so calm, special, and happy. Kayla sent us videos each day we were away, and we could relax knowing that our little Kasie was well cared for and happy. We will definitely request Kayla to keep Kasie for us in the future!”

“Brenda was a great host to my two little dogs. One is a senior dog, so he required medications and some special care. She made sure they were both well taken care of and sent updates with pictures throughout my vacation. Overall, I had a great experience interacting with Brenda and would recommend her to others looking for a dog-sitter.”

“Cheryl was great with Dixie (18lb Yorkie-Poo). We left her for a 5 night stay; Dixie settled in quickly & bonded almost immediately with Cheryl. We recevied daily updates & photos. We will definately leave our Dixie with Cheryl again.”

“Corri deserves 10 stars. We had a GREAT first time experience. Corri has a really nice home, yard and her dog Penny is a great companion for any dog. She took time to check in by sending us pictures of our dog, ODEN. He seemed to be having the time of his life while running around in the backyard. I will definitely use Corri and her husband, Aaron again as our sitter. The wife and I are heading to Hawaii soon for a week, Corri is certainly one of our top options on the Rover app. Thanks guys!”

“These guys were amazing!! They provided a loving home for my dog while we were away. We received frequent updates, and they treated my dog so well, I was sure she would never want to come home. I cannot recommend Chris and Cassandra highly enough. Through some glitch in the system, they were suggested to me, even though they were a 40 minute drive away. I will ABSOLUTELY be making that 40 minute drive again when my dog needs a sitter.”

“Sydney was amazing!!! Poor Charlie got sick with 2 parasites right before his visit. He was feeling much better after a few days on medication so Sydney still was willing to take him in. She continued the rest of his treatment which consisted of multiple medications at carousing times throughout the day. She continued to provide us updates through out his stay and reassured us that he was definitely on the up and up the whole time. Her location is ideal for airport travel as she is only about 10 minutes from DTW. We will absolutely use Sydney in the future!! Thank you again!”

“Kerri is kind and personable. From the moment we met her, we knew that Velvet would be in great hands. She took great care of our puppy and provided updates throughout her stay.”

“David did a fantastic job watching our lab. He communicates very well and Lulu was obviously enjoying her time there. We will absolutely use David again. Highly recommend!”

“My pup seemed to have a blast with them! I LOVED getting the photo updates and they were very responsive whenever I had questions. Would definitely bring my pup again!”

“When I had to unexpectedly go out of town for over a week, Jean made me feel completely at ease that my dog was in great hands. She sent detailed updates and lots of adorable pics for me to know what all my little girl was up to. And although she could tell my dog missed me, my Frankie still seemed to have a great time visiting Jean's family and dog. It made my otherwise stressful trip a little less stressful since I didn't have to worry about my Frankie. Highly recommend her to anyone needing a sitter.”

“Ashley did a wonderful job taking care of our dog while we were out of town. She is a very kind and responsible person and I felt that I can trust her right when I met her. She updated us with pictures and messages every day, which was great. Absolutely will go back to her in the future!”

“Andrew and his partner took excellent care of our dog and were very playful with him. Very quick on their responses, easy communication, and responsible. I definitely recommend!”

“I love her. First time leaving my Stormi but i was comfortable that she was in good hands. Always want someone that my pup would relax with. She was really calm when I picked her up. I will book with Jalyn again.”

“This was Josie’s second stay with Maureen. It was another exceptional stay. Josie had a number of walks and snuggle times on the couch. Maureen is wonderful about sending pictures so we can see how much fun Josie is having. Thank you, Maureen, for taking such good care of our Josie!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Wayne
Kayla and her family were extremely accommodating for my dog, Sadie. We initially set up a meet-and-greet with her dogs, who were incredibly friendly with her. Sadie and the rest of the pups had plenty of room to run around their fenced backyard, with Kayla always keeping a watchful eye on them. She was also kind enough to accept a last minute request to watch Sadie for an additional day. Overall, I’m extremely grateful to Kayla and her family for taking care of Sadie. I’m hoping we can come back and ask for her services again!

Kelly was extremely responsive and very caring to our special two-year-old Golden boy. He loved Kelly’s huge fenced-in yard and he felt so happy and cozy hanging out with Kelly at home! We are so grateful to have met Kelly and to be able to rely on her for the utmost care of Romeo!

Teddy just finished his stay with Jasmine, and I couldn't be happier. She was attentive, followed all his care instructions, and kept me updated. Teddy came home happy and relaxed. It’s a huge relief to find someone so trustworthy to watch him!I’ll definitely be booking with her again!

Renate watched our moderately hyper golden doodle with ease. She was so awesome the times she sat him before- when we relocated out of state- I brought him back to MI knowing he would be in good hands during our visit. This time she also sat our really particular yorkipoo who is a stage 5 clinger and has separation anxiety. She keeps you updated constantly, is accommodating, predicts your needs during busy travel (eg asked if she should give both their anxiety rx the am of pickup knowing we had travel same day), and clearly has passion for sitting! Drop off and pickup is a breeze. Home is clean and never smells like “dogs.”Her two dogs are very sweet and seem laid back. Whole family really is sweet. See you on our next trip home to MI Renate!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
