“I couldn’t possibly be happier with my dog’s experience at Teresa’s home. From our meet and greet a few days ago to daycare today, Teresa has been nothing but kind, knowledgeable, and welcoming to my dog and my family. Her dogs were a great mix of playful and chill - my pup is worn out this evening, haha. This is EXACTLY what I was hoping for when I thought about daycare for my new rescue dog. Many more playdates to come. 🙂 It’s so comforting knowing she was in excellent hands.”

“Dena and her family did a great job with Biscuit. She was happy and content when I picked her up. It is clear that they provided her with loving care. We will definitely be back.”

“Mark and Nadine are a class act and do such an amazing job with our little pup. Our dog is excited to see them every morning that we drop her off. Thank you for being so amazing. I appreciate you!”

“With my first puppy I quickly became worried i'd never be able to take a vacation. George eased my own separation anxiety and I was comfortable taking my first day trip away from my 8 month old puppy knowing she was safe and cared for.”

“This was my first time having someone other than my dad watch my puppy as normally my dog doesn't react well to anyone other than him. However, we both needed to attend the same event this time and I am so glad to have found this great sitter. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Dialachelle was incredibly responsive and proactive from start to finish. She was prepared at the meet and greet with a pup cup and my normally reactive puppy warmed up to her right away. Her experience as a flight nanny, being calm and understanding when my puppy had an accident during the meet and greet, and professionalism solidified that she would be a great fit. She went above and beyond, walking my puppy every hour and sending regular photo updates. I highly recommend her and look forward to booking with her again!”

About: I am an animal lover, a mother of 2, an aspiring writer, and love taking long walks. My children are having a great time getting to know different dogs and bonding with them like they were our own. I was fortunate enough to love and care for a special needs dog for 13 years and miss my time with him. I understand the importance of not leaving your pets alone all day long and look forward to providing some lucky dog with all the cuddles, play time, exercise, and gentle discipline they require while enriching the lives of my children and I. I would love to get to know your furry friend and look forward to learning about their particular needs and how I can help them. It's almost like you are doing me a favor! Pet care is literally my job. My only other obligations are caring for my children, which fits well with caring for pets. We are active and enjoy spending our days moving, walking, and having fun. I live in an upstairs condo with my children. I generally take 4 walks a day with dogs in my home. I have older cats who will stay hidden while your dog is here. If you allow it, I may bake your dogs healthy treats during the stay. When I visit your home, I want things to remain looking untouched, and I will clean up any messes your pet has made or does make while I’m there. This includes sweeping litter, cleaning urine and vomit and poo, vacuuming pet hair after a good petting, and cleaning up things your pet may have “stress chewed”. I do have school runs in the morning and afternoon. If your dog likes the car, they are welcome to come along. Otherwise, I’m get really home all day. At my home, we try to provide lots of attention through play, petting, or just companionship, and walks throughout the day to keep your dog comfortable, happy, and healthy. I’ll be sure to follow whatever instructions you provide and send periodic updates so you know what your dog has been up to. When I visit your home, I will again, follow your instructions and give your pet the attention it needs.
About: I've taken care of dogs and cats my entire life. I really enjoy meeting, playing and caring for all animals. I'd love to meet yours! I make my own work schedule so I'm very flexible. Walking dogs and caring for cats takes priority. I can help out with short notice. Paying attention to animal needs is very important to me. I currently have a cat who is living his best life! Animals of every kind deserve the best.
About: If i had 100 fenced acres i would probably have 100 dogs. First hand experience with Golden Retrievers, Boxers, Dobermans, Cocker Spaniels, Labrador Retrievers, Schnauzers, Irish Wolf Hounds, Terriers and Yorkies. I periodically raise and train Golden Retrievers for Leaderdogs for the Blind. If i am completely blocked off for a couple weeks i am probably hosting a leaderdog puppy for another raiser that is on a vacation. I have a lot of repeat customers and look forward to seeing their dogs get excited when they pull into my driveway. It would be tough but if i had to pick the breed i couldn't live without i would put Goldens at the top. Even though i don't let any dogs on my bed i’m known for sleeping on the floor in the living-room with the dogs.
“Megan and Milo were great hosts to my Bentley for a few hours. We had great communication throughout the visit and Bentley came home happy and sleepy. Definitely will be booking again. Thank you!”

“Cherry cared for Kona like she was one of her own. She has a huge heart for pets. Her house was all prepped and ready for Konas arrival. I was updated on how Kona was doing through out the day. It was nice to be able to leave Kona with her while I was working.”

About: My husband Kyle and I have had dogs our whole life and have always enjoyed spending time with them as well as training them. We currently have a cat and a fox red lab who is very loving, incredibly smart, and well trained. We also take care of dogs for family members when they are on vacation or at work for an extended period of time. I am a stay at home mom currently. I just had a baby in November 2022 and I’m looking to make some extra income for our family. I am home all day and have a half an acre fenced in yard for the pups to run around and play. When my husband is off work, he loves to play with the dogs and help train them. We have a fenced in yard to play in and go potty. We also have a very friendly Labrador retriever dog who could keep your dog company or if preferred we have enough space to separate them in the house or a large crate for your dog if that’s what is preferred as well. Whatever makes you most comfortable as a dog mama or dad is what we will do to best take care of your furry friend.
“Samantha was amazing! My husband and I took Maru to Michigan and needed someone to watch her while we attended an event. Maru spent two days with Samantha’s family, and we picked her up at nights. Our puppy is almost 6 months old and hadn’t been around many people or dogs, but Samantha and her family gave her outstanding care and great socialization. Maru came back to us happy and loved. I highly recommend Samantha to anyone who wants their dog to be safe, happy, and well-socialized while they’re away.”

“Terri is always my 1st choice when it comes to hiring a dog sitter to care for my pups! She loves dogs and it shows because my pups love her! I always give Terri a 5-star rating because she deserves it!!”

“Brittany was very accommodating and took my last minute request. There can be improvement in communication to avoid misunderstandings. But, she was very kind and caring and put forth the effort to clear up what was misunderstood.”

“My dog had a good day with Kayla and was well taken care of for the day. The dogsitter was ver attentive with communication and clearly let me know when I could drop off amd pick up Coby. She understood the instructions I gave for his care and made sure that his ear was taken care of. Coby clearly had fun that day and if I happen to be back in the area, I will definitely look up this dogsitter again.”

About: I have trained, watched, worked with, handled, and loved on every temperament of pet from lovable couch potatoes, anxiety ridden, hospice care, and animals that do not do well with other people or animals for over 20 years. Through those years I have worked with rescues, dog shows, dog sports, and training and raising puppies and adults that have helped me to become an extremely understanding, patient, and proficient behaviorist and trainer I am to this day. Anything from walks, training, medical needs, behavioral needs, bathing, or just simple understanding is my expertise with animals, primarily dogs. I do have a full time job, however animal care is a top priority. I also have a partner (who is also verified on rover and a former veterinarian technician) that lives with me, which leaves me able to board, train, doggy daycare, or any need a family might need while seeking a pet sitter for their beloved pet/s. If your pet/s is boarding at my home, I have a fenced in yard with multiple types of animals that are all very well behaved and trained. I have a separate space in my kitchen for your pet/s or I do crate dogs at night time and place cats in a separate, closed area at night for your pet/s comfortability in a new environment. If I care for your pet/s at their home, they will have the comfort and safety of their regular routine at their home while you have the peace of mind that not only are your pet/s taken care of but so is your home while away. Following medical need instructions and able to administer any meds will be adhered to in the utmost manner. Whether your pet/s are at my home or yours for overnights, day time drop ins, or daytime doggy daycare they are treated with the highest level of patience and respect. Pet/s will also have numerous potty breaks, multiple walks if they need, and some good ol fashion playtime and love.
About: I am comfortable with all dogs. My childhood dog is a yorkie poo. A small sassy dog with lots of attitude. I fostered for the Huron Valley Humane Society for about 7 years. I have experience with cats, and dogs ranging from pit bulls to yorkshire terriers. I am currently the owner of a 3 year old cat and 13 year old shitzu. Im a business owner, therefore my schedule is very flexible. I promise to LOVE your baby (pet) just as much as you do. They probably won't want to come home! :) For House sitting I do require a brief walkthrough of sleeping arrangements, bathroom access, and house guidelines prior to booking. ❤️ I have the ability to work from home, so I can be available when needed as long as I have some advance notice (1-3 days in advance). I can care for your pet at your home or mine. If at your home, your baby will be able to maintain their exact routine. If I care for your baby in my home, they will have free range of my home. I do have a cat, so bedrooms will be off limits, but I don't crate animals unless I'm told to. I do have a dog, so routine walks and potty breaks will be given.

Christina was wonderful with my dogs and gave me a lot of peace of mind while I was away. She was communicative, attentive, and clearly cared about making sure they were comfortable and well taken care of. I really appreciated the updates and photos, and my dogs seemed happy and relaxed with her. I would definitely book with Christina again and recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter. Her mom is also home and my dogs loves her attention!

Kenzi and I absolutely love Cynthia! She has such sweet babies herself and Kenzi loves having playmates! Cynthia is very kind and always keeping in touch throughout the day! It’s really hard finding the right fit sometimes but hands down we found our fit! She truly treats your baby like her own very loved and taken great care of 🐶💕🫶🏼

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
