“Lizzy, Brain, and Pepper welcomed our two pups into their home with genuine care. They willingly arranged a meet-and-greet ahead for our comfort. During their stay we received regular updates of the attention and fun they shared. We will be rebooking.”

“Laura and Manuel were friendly, easy to communicate with, and took great care of our dog. They sent some photo updates too. We would love to work with them again!”

“Tanu was an amazing dog sitter for our dog Kevin. She was so attentive, sent very frequent updates and pictures, and clearly is a big dog lover. We will without a doubt, be asking her to dog sit our dog in the future!”

“Deana and her husband were great with my dog! Amazing house with great outdoor areas and their little dog is wonderful. Deana was also very flexible and accommodating for scheduling. True dog lovers - Highly recommend!”

“Kelsey and her family were absolutely amazing while caring for Charlie during my recent work trip! ❤️ From the moment I dropped him off, I knew he was in great hands. Kelsey kept me updated throughout my trip with messages and lots of photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. It was obvious Charlie was having a great time and was treated like part of their family. When I picked him up, he was happy, relaxed, and clearly well loved. As a flight attendant, being away from home can be stressful, so knowing Charlie was safe and cared for meant the world to me. Thank you, Kelsey, for taking such wonderful care of my little guy! I truly appreciate everything you and your family did for him. I would absolutely recommend Kelsey to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and communicative sitter. I won’t hesitate to book with her again in the future!”

“Zachary was fantastic hosting Spooky for an extended stay. He was very patient with Spooky building up his confidence in his temporary home and sent lots of photos and updates about how he was doing. I can tell from the photos Spooky became quite comfortable with Zachary and in his house. I would definitely request Zachary watch Spooky again.”

“Thank you Paula for taking care of Lily for a second weekend! It was nice to see Lily so excited to see you when we dropped her off the second time. It gave us confidence we left her in good hands.”

About: My 2 daughters and I are an animal-loving home. We have 2 playful cocker spaniel mixes, 3 dog-friendly cats, and 3 horses (at a barn). I work from home, so can provide constant companionship and supervision. My girls are also home for the summer and love playing with all animals. Our yard is over an acre with an invisible fence. I can provide a dog runner line, a long tie-out, or take your dog out on a leash. I can provide daily walks, including to our neighborhood pond if your dog likes the water. I am happy to accommodate any reasonable pet care requests, whatever they may be. I just ask that your dog be vaccinated and friendly with other dogs and kids.
“Thank you Karen for taking such great care of Rufus. He seemed like he had a great vacation weekend with you and we really do appreciate it! We hope Rufus was able to entertain you as well! We would be happy to leave him with you again in the future, should the need arise.”

“We have a very needy senior dog and Heather did a great job with him. He can be high maintenance but she was very kind and patient and sent updates and pictures and said he was welcome back. We were very happy to have found her.”
“Deaunna took excellent care of our very active 2 year old pup. She sent plenty of updates, and I know our dog had a great time (he was exhausted the next day after all that playing!).”

About: I have been a pet owner since 2010 but an animal lover my whole life. I am also a mom so I can handle pretty much anything and I have a flexible schedule. I currently work a remote part-time job so I am very flexible during the work day and at times after work and on weekends. I have my own car. I have a fully fenced yard at my house and my dog Clementine loves all animals! I am also interested in walking dogs or caring for dogs in other people's homes during the work day.

“JoAnn is the absolute best. Our boy Marty came back healthy and although he got dropped off with some skin issues she was so attentive to caring for him and providing his medication. We appreciated the daily pictures/videos and she was very responsive with any questions or concerns we had while away. Thank you again to JoAnn!”

“Tiffany was fantastic! She send me at least one picture every day and she answered my questions fast. My Coco looked happy during her whole stayed. 100% would recommend.”

“We left our boy for a 2-night stay. It was his first time away from us since a stay at a boarding facility almost a year ago. We were nervous about how he would behave, but not nervous at all about the care he would receive. We received updates and photos throughout his stay. The pictures of him receiving belly rubs made it clear he wasn’t suffering too much without us! We are so grateful for their kind and considerate care of our dog.”

About: I have taken care of family dogs since I was old enough to remember. I grew up with 2 shih tzu's at home, and they were my fiercest protectors. I have taken care of both senior dogs and puppies. I love caring for dogs (every size and breed!). I know how hard it is to leave your best friend behind, which is why my goal is to give you total peace of mind. Whether we’re out for a long walk or curled up on the couch, I promise to treat your pup with the same love and devotion I would give my own. You can enjoy your time away knowing they aren't just being watched—they’re being pampered, played with, and truly cared for. I’m currently working full-time (9 am-5 pm) Monday-Friday, so I would be perfect for a weekend or long weekend coverage. I am available Fridays after 4:30, and typically all day on Saturdays and Sundays. I am also open to staying during the weekdays as long as your pet does not need to be taken out in the middle of the day. I can have pets in my apartment so I am available for boarding! And, I would be more than happy to do home-stays or quick drop-ins for walks and feeding!
“I couldn’t be happier with the care Daniel provided for my dog! From the moment we met, it was clear they were experienced and truly passionate about animals. I received daily updates with photos that reassured me he was in great hands. Definitely recommend!”

“Tara did an amazing job watching our dog, Winston! From the moment she picked him up, we knew he was in good hands. Winston clearly felt loved and comfortable during his stay, and it was heartwarming to see how well he got along with her pup, Bosco. Tara kept us in the loop with adorable updates throughout the day, which really put our minds at ease. When she returned him, Winston was happy and well-cared for. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend Tara for dog sitting.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
