“Cody, his family, and pup Freya took great care of Moxie. She was skittish being her first time away overnight, but they were patient with her and gave daily updates and pics. She loved playing with Freya& fetching balls. Their home and yard is safe and secure. We will definitely book Cody again when we are visiting out-of-state family near him.”

“Katie was excellent throughout the week while Bonnie was in her care!! she sent me photos every day, with updates. Honestly, it gave me such a peace of mind, knowing that she was with a family that was loving on her.”

“Josiah was great and offered last-minute services when my original plans fell through for zazu. Their family took great care of my boy, sent regular pictures, and he came home happy and healthy!”

“We highly recommend Skip and Mary! Blue is hard to win over and he was snuggling with them before the end of the first night. They are clearly dog lovers, and they are a perfect fit if your dog is used to having someone at home often, loves walks, snuggles, but is not comfortable around children. Thank you for taking such good care of Blue!”

“Ariana took amazing care of Murphy for us. As a senior dog he has his quirks and Ariana worked to make sure he was happy and content. Lots of communication that made us feel at ease knowing Murphy was well cared for. We highly recommend Ariana to watch your fur baby.”

“Oscar was great with our two dogs. He sent several photos every day and provided updates on their activities and behaviors. We look forward to leaving our pets with him again soon.”

“Cardi was so happy and well taken care of for the weekend. Provides updates, pictures and is just warm and caring in general. Will definitely book again. Thanks Sandy!”

“Zelda loves her time with Laura, Manuel, and their dogs. She now gets excited every time we turn into their neighborhood. It’s such a relief to know she is well cared for!”

“Teresa and her family were great! Baguette hadn’t done well at regular doggy daycare so we tried Rover for the first time. They made Baguette feel right at home and helped her adjust. I greatly appreciated Teresa’s communicativeness and kindness. Thank you!”

“I have absolutely no words capable to leave a fair review to Natiely. If I say she was amazing it will sound too weak given how perfect her care for Milli was. She truly goes above and beyond to care for your dog, pay attention to details, keeps you updated, understands your best friend's needs and best of all, truly gives love to your furry one. Milli came back happier than when I dropped her, healthier and looking forward to stay again. Best care Milli ever had by far!”
“Logan and Ellie were nothing but amazing dog sitters for my dog. My dog struggles with really bad anxiety and they made sure the keep a close eye on her and had amazing patience and understanding than anyone I’ve seen. They kept me updated all the time and made did an amazing job of communicating any concerns or asking questions. They were knowledgeable in how to properly care for dogs and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a sitter. Rosemary seemed very satisfied and that makes me satisfied, she’s not an easy dog to care for so anyone who can handle her has my respect and appreciation”

“Wonderful experience with Andria and her family. First researched less than 2 weeks ahead of anticipated need to board our pup - Andria was accommodating with a Meet & Greet ahead of booking to allow us the chance to get acquainted and our furry friend to experience the lodging accommodations ahead of time. During the weekend board, we were provided with updates and photos of the day to help us humans know that all was well.”

“Ollie appeared to have great time with LaTonya. She sent me several photos and was right on time for drop off and pick up. Our little guy appears to have been well taken care of. We will definitely use her again.”
“Elizabeth was great communicating and letting us know the status of our dog Chico. We were very please with her care and services. Looking forward to booking her again!”

“Sydney was amazing!!! Poor Charlie got sick with 2 parasites right before his visit. He was feeling much better after a few days on medication so Sydney still was willing to take him in. She continued the rest of his treatment which consisted of multiple medications at carousing times throughout the day. She continued to provide us updates through out his stay and reassured us that he was definitely on the up and up the whole time. Her location is ideal for airport travel as she is only about 10 minutes from DTW. We will absolutely use Sydney in the future!! Thank you again!”

“5 stars for Lea and her family! Ellie had such a great stay there while we were away on a camping trip! Very communicative, easy to arrange pickup/dropoff and super friendly family overall. We will be using Lea in the future for sure. Thank you Lea!!”

“Paige was excellent. Our dog was a little anxious as this was her first Rover, and Paige made sure she was comfortable. We really appreciated that. I highly recommend her!”

“Kayden is very friendly and knowledgable about dogs. Milo, our dog, is elderly and I was a bit worried about the interactions between his energetic dogs and mine. But all went well and Milo came home healthy and happy after a full week with Kayden, his partner and their four-legged friends. The second concern I had was the small outside area he had available for the dogs to do their business. Milo is picky about where he goes potty and, since there was no grass, I wasn't sure how that would go. Again, Kayden handled it well, taking Milo out for walks when needed. I would take Milo back for future visits if the need arises.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
