“Cody, his family, and pup Freya took great care of Moxie. She was skittish being her first time away overnight, but they were patient with her and gave daily updates and pics. She loved playing with Freya& fetching balls. Their home and yard is safe and secure. We will definitely book Cody again when we are visiting out-of-state family near him.”

“Zuri is amazing! Our dogs, Luca and Loki, had so much fun at Zuri’s house and they were so well taken care of that we couldn’t be happier. We’ll definitely use Zuri’s services again and highly recommend her to others.”

“So kind and accommodating! Piper had a great time with Deb and Malcomb! Thank you for taking care of piper while we traveled to a family reunion out of state. Knowing that piper was in a home environment with dog lovers made us feel at ease. Deb was very good at sharing pictures and keeping us updated daily on our Miss Piper. A+ experience. Will highly recommend and will use in future. This was our very first Rover.com experience and it was good! Thank you!!”

“This was my first time using Rover. Arling and his wife were amazing! I could tell my 13 year-old yorkie-pomeranian mix really enjoyed his week with them. I love that they only watch one dog at a time...perfect for my old pup. I definitely will use them again. Highly recommended!”

“David did a fantastic job watching our lab. He communicates very well and Lulu was obviously enjoying her time there. We will absolutely use David again. Highly recommend!”

“This was our dog’s second stay with Ariana and her dog Yogi. I was very impressed with our dog’s care during her first stay and I was equally impressed during her second stay. Our dog is not easygoing, and at one point I worried whether we would ever be able to find a sitter who would make her feel comfortable. Ariana is that sitter. She provides a loving, relaxed, fun environment and is exceptionally good at communicating with owners. She sets a new standard.”

“Our pup stayed with Kayla for a week while we were traveling and Kayla was awesome. She was super communicative with pics and updates and it was such a relief knowing that our doggo was in good hands while we were away! Would highly recommend booking with Kayla ??”
“Sandy was a great pet sitter for my girl Boston! She was flexible with pick up and drop off times, sent me plenty of updates which helped curb my anxiety about her first time boarding with a stranger, and had great things to say about Boston which always feels good. I will definitely be using Sandy as a sitter for my dog again!”

“Great experience! Katie was sending us photos and updates of our furr baby daily! She treated our dog-Lesha like one of her family. Absolutely recommend and will definitely rebook if we need to!”

“Teresa and her family were great! Baguette hadn’t done well at regular doggy daycare so we tried Rover for the first time. They made Baguette feel right at home and helped her adjust. I greatly appreciated Teresa’s communicativeness and kindness. Thank you!”

“Sydney was amazing!!! Poor Charlie got sick with 2 parasites right before his visit. He was feeling much better after a few days on medication so Sydney still was willing to take him in. She continued the rest of his treatment which consisted of multiple medications at carousing times throughout the day. She continued to provide us updates through out his stay and reassured us that he was definitely on the up and up the whole time. Her location is ideal for airport travel as she is only about 10 minutes from DTW. We will absolutely use Sydney in the future!! Thank you again!”

“Snickers hadn’t stayed at a “stranger’s” house in years but she adapted well at Paula’s. Snickers thinks that she is too old to play but apparently she LOVED Paula’s big back yard. Snickers was in good spirits when I picked her up and I would definitely use her again.”

“Andria is amazing. Pictures come daily which brings a bit of comfort. I highly recommend Andria, my pup was well taken care of and it was comforting knowing he was in a good home. Buddy will definitely be visiting again.”

“Paige was awesome with our 2 girls, she was very loving and caring and sent plenty of pictures showing how much fun they was having and keeping us informed of anything that may have happened. Our English cream retriever was playing in the rain and got a little muddy but Paige completely cleaned her up and sent us pictures. I strongly recommend Paige and we will be using her again. Thank you Paige for being a wonderful dog sitter!!”

“Had a great experience with Katey taking care of our dog. She kept us updated on the dog and sent pictures daily. She has a lovely home, great big yard, and nice family. I'm surprised that the dog wanted to go home.”

“Elizabeth was great communicating and letting us know the status of our dog Chico. We were very please with her care and services. Looking forward to booking her again!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
