“LaTonya was amazing! I left my energetic six month old puppy with her right in the middle of a bad teething stage and she was great! She sent multiple photos throughout the day along with frequent updates on how he was doing! My puppy had never been away from me for a night or stayed with anyone else and she was SO patient with him! Her having her own dogs is a HUGE plus since I think it was a big reason why my puppy got settled so quickly. I would recommned her to anyone!”

About: Hi! I’m Lily, and caring for animals is genuinely one of my favorite things in life. I’ve had pets my whole life and have also worked at a doggy daycare, so I’m very comfortable handling dogs with different personalities, energy levels, and needs. I own dogs myself—they’re very docile and love having friends—so I understand how important it is to find someone you fully trust with your pets. I have experience with dogs of all sizes and temperaments, including anxious pups and dogs with special needs. One of my dogs is deaf and responds to sign, so I’m especially patient, attentive, and tuned in to nonverbal communication. Whether your pet needs high-energy playtime, structured walks, or just a calm and comforting presence, I’m happy to meet them where they’re at. Your pet’s safety and happiness are my top priorities. I’ll treat them like they’re my own—lots of love, attention, and updates so you never have to wonder how they’re doing. I’m reliable, communicative, and genuinely excited to meet your pets. I can’t wait to give them the care they deserve! I do work 730-330 M-F but my partner (Jeremy) is home by 2:30 PM every day, and we’re both home in the evenings, so your pet will have plenty of supervision, attention, and company. We make sure pets are never left alone for long periods and always prioritize their comfort and routine. I’m happy to work with your pet’s specific schedule and needs—just let me know what works best for them! Your pet’s safety is my top priority. We have a fully fenced-in backyard with turf, providing a clean and secure space for safe outdoor play and bathroom breaks. Inside, our home is pet-proofed to prevent access to anything unsafe, and we always supervise interactions to ensure a calm and controlled environment. I’m attentive to each dog’s behavior and needs, and I take introductions slowly to make sure everyone feels comfortable. You can trust that your pet will be in a safe, secure, and well-managed environment at all times.

“My Chihuahua, Carlos, couldn't have been in better hands. I left my best buddy with Sadey for a 5 day stay at her residence while I was travelling. Sadey sent me updates and photos daily and even took Carlos to see Santa Claus. The care was second to none, and when it was time to go home, I could swear Carlos wanted to stay, lol. This was the first time I had left Carlos with anyone and I wouldn't hesitate to hire Sadey again. So much better than leaving your pet in a caged, concrete floored, kennel. Highly recommend!”

“Nicole was such a life saver! We needed her for a last minute trip and she was so gracious enough to watch our puppy, Luna. She updated me with pictures multiple times per day and always let me know what was going on. Will be reaching out to her again if we need a sitter!!”

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life, growing up in a home filled with pets of all kinds. Caring for animals comes naturally to me, and I genuinely love getting to know each pet’s unique personality. I have experience caring for pets of all ages, sizes, breeds, and temperaments, including those with special medical needs or health conditions. Whether your pet is energetic and playful, shy and reserved, or requires extra patience and attention, I’ll provide compassionate, reliable care tailored to their individual needs. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, loved, and comfortable while giving you complete peace of mind knowing they’re in caring, experienced hands. I currently own a business and have a very flexible schedule with plenty of time to care for my furry friends! I live with my husband and two boys ages 10 & 15; who are also very helpful with any pet needs especially play time and walks. I prioritize every pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being by providing a clean, secure, and loving environment. I have a fenced backyard for safe outdoor time, a pet-free home with no other animals, and I always maintain close supervision, follow routines, and give each pet the individual attention they deserve.
“Paul and Penny were wonderful caretakers for our dogs. Our dogs felt completely comfortable at their house and were well taken care of. I highly recommend them as sitters and would definitely use their services again!”

“My dog always has a great time staying here. He gets plenty of playtime and exercise, is well cared for, and enjoys his boarding. Maria provides clear communication and pictures during the stay so we know he’s in good hands!”

“Breanna & Clay took the most amazing care of our "special needs" pup, Yogi, for a 10 day visit, they were absolutely amazing in calming our fears of leaving him for such a long time. Yogi thrived while staying with them, and they provided the most adorable pictures and videos throughout the stay! After many pet sitters being used throughout the years, we were finally able to relax on a vacation without worry! 10/10 will be using them again, we actually just booked them for our next trip! If you want a worry free vacation knowing your pup is in good hands, book with these two!!”

“Cindy was great! I was in a pinch and needed to find someone quick. I was a little nervous, at first, because Kelly can get really anxious with strangers. I'm so glad I found Cindy and her family...Kelly had a great time!”

“Cindie is very attentive and detail-oriented, and she made sure we were 100% comfortable about leaving our puppy with her for the weekend. She also was kind enough to send us updates and photos while we were away, which was a really nice touch! I definitely recommend her as a dog-sitter!”

“Kristin was perfect for our quiet shy dog. It was a first time using any dog sitting service, so my recommendation is meet more than one sitter and trust your gut and heart. Our dog was very comfortable with Kristin and her house/surroundings when we met, and she ate her food the first morning of her stay so I knew she was happy. Thank you, Kristin, for providing this service to other dog owners🥰”

About: Hi! I’m Jaelyn (aka Jae the Fur Nanny 🐾) I’m a full-time pet sitter, which means your fur baby gets 24/7 care, attention, and supervision while they’re with me. I’ve been caring for animals since I was 6 years old and have experience with dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles, and small animals. From energetic puppies to shy or sensitive pets, I take the time to understand each animal’s personality so they feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely at home. ✨ What you can expect with me: • Full-time care (I’m home most/all of the day) • Flexible routines based on your pet’s needs • Plenty of love, playtime, and attention • A calm, cozy environment where pets can relax • Consistent updates so you always know how your pet is doing I typically allow pets to free roam, but I also have crates available if that’s what your pet is used to or if you prefer it. My goal is to keep their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. 💗 My approach: I treat every pet like family. When your pet stays with me, they’re not just being watched—they’re being cared for, loved, and understood. I’m very responsive and easy to reach, and I’m always happy to answer questions or provide updates. Before booking, I’d love to know about: •Your pet’s personality •Any triggers or special needs •How they do around other animals This information helps me give them the best and safest experience possible ✨ I’m so grateful for the opportunity to care for your pet and would love to meet you both! 🐶💕 I am ALWAYS AVAILABLE 💞 I do this full time so your fur baby will have my care 24/7. I always try to be flexible & I am very easy to reach for the most part. I tend to allow them free range of the apartment but it is up to you as the parent on what you feel is best. If needed I have different crate sizes available if your fur baby feels more comfortable sleeping that way. Otherwise they are allowed to sleep wherever they please.
About: I am a Registered Veterinary Technician at a shelter I used to volunteer for, and have had my own dogs and cats my entire life. I’ve recently gone part-time and would enjoy walking your pets or stopping in for those needed potty breaks. I used to walk dogs for the shelter I now work at. I also foster animals for them, most dogs and puppies. I work at the shelter Thursdays and Fridays. I am available other days of the week on a part-time basis. I don’t have preferred days in mind at this time. I will certainly follow all instructions provided and will treat your pet as my own while in my care. I will respect and properly care for your home environment.

“So kind and accommodating! Piper had a great time with Deb and Malcomb! Thank you for taking care of piper while we traveled to a family reunion out of state. Knowing that piper was in a home environment with dog lovers made us feel at ease. Deb was very good at sharing pictures and keeping us updated daily on our Miss Piper. A+ experience. Will highly recommend and will use in future. This was our very first Rover.com experience and it was good! Thank you!!”

About: I have always wanted a job watching animals. I am very quick to learn each animal's body language to learn what they need. I have had old dogs and younger ones and understand when they just need a break and to sleep. I do love to cuddle dogs, play with them, and give them lots of loving. I also love any animals that you throw my way. I have experience with birds reptiles dogs cats and hamsters. But that doesn't mean I won't take care of other animals that aren't on this list! I go to school but I have a very flexible schedule I am also working a job and working towards my first car as well. I enjoy giving animals endless attention and making sure I meet all of their needs and they are happy and comfortable in my home. I take them out very often if needed as well.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
