I work from home on Wednesdays and Fridays, so I can do dog boarding when it aligns with this schedule (in other words, not Mon, Tue, Thurs during the day unless your dog is ok being alone for 8-9 hours without a potty break). My 2 adult college age kids may be home during breaks and may assist with care during those times. Both have been background checked by Rover and both of them are very responsible pet caregivers who have helped care for other pets over the years as well. My daughter is a Rover pet sitter where she lives in Colorado.

Pets are a high priority...I have lots of love to give and also love being able to keep them active with stimulating play time and walks/runs outside. They will feel safe as we are sensitive to their reactions to various stimuli and will adapt to what they need. I love cuddles but respect that some dogs don't like excessive attention. When dogs are at my home, I bring them outside on a leash to go potty. I also have a long extended leash in my backyard if we decide to hang out outside for a while. I love going for walks and runs, and especially love it when accompanied by a dog.

If I am boarding your dog, I need to know that your dog is ok with cats since I have 2 in my home. Also, please let me know anything that your dog is scared of or any particular preferences so I can make them feel like life is as normal as possible! I also need to know how active your dog likes to be.
A typical day
I LOVE taking dogs for walks (and runs if they like to run). I also love playing catch, hide and seek, and just giving lots of pets.

I grew up with dogs and have owned my own dogs. I really miss having a dog friend around since my last dog passed away, but am in a phase of life where it’s best to not commit to another dog. Dog sitting/walking has been the perfect fit! I have both helped with other friends/neighbors pets and sometimes get my dog fix by going to Detroit Animal Care and Control to take dogs out of the shelter for a couple hours to go for a long walk around the city. I would love to play with your furry friend and go on walks or just sit at home and cuddle.

Karen took my energetic pup on some fun adventures and got him plenty tired out! She was also communicative when scheduling and sent some photos so I knew he was having a good stay!
