“Lisa and Joe were wonderful care providers for Hazel's first experience staying with someone who was not family. We received photos and updates every day and could tell that our dog was happy and relaxed in their care. We will definitely book with them again.”

“Our dog Bug had an amazing time staying with Martha and Eric. They were so sweet to him and sent lots of photos and video updates. We will definitely be booking with them again!”

“Jennifer, Eric and their kids did a wonderful job sitting for Hiro. You could tell they are truly pet people and cared for our dog while we were away. They sent daily pics and took him on walks. Hiro can be quirky at times, but they did an amazing job playing and spending time with him. We would love to use them again in the future!”

“They were the most amazing family to have watch our two dogs. We reached out with very short notice and they took them in right away. They gave us updates every day and always sent pictures. Best family on Rover!”

“Mack had a fantastic long weekend at Kara and Adam's house! Reservations and meet-up were a breeze and Kara's communication was timely and did a lot to calm our nerves around being away from Mack for the first time; pictures were an awesome bonus. Will definitely book again.”

“Promise and family took great care of my dog. She allowed my dog to get comfortable with her before introducing to dogs in her home. She sent video of them playing together . Thank you for looking out for my dog so carefully .”

“Elizabeth and Eric are dog people! I doubt you can find a dog they don't love. They made my hyper active lab mix very happy. We appreciate them and will return if needed”

“Thank you so much for taking care of our sweet Ponyo and administering her meds as well as feeding her, her extended bland diet. The updates and pictures eased our anxiety since this was our first departure from her.”

“Sarah is such a kind and warm sitter. She was so accommodating to our dogs unique needs and I could tell he loved being at her house. I will definitely use her again.”

“I highly recommend Sara. She was wonderful with my anxious Pomeranian and sent lots of updates and photos while I was away. She was friendly, easy to work with, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. Knowing my dog was in such caring hands gave me great peace of mind.”

“LAN was great with my young Labradoodle. He stayed with her for two weeks while I was out of the country. She put my mind at ease by sharing pictures and videos of him playing with her dog Lucy. He seemed very comfortable and well cared for with her family. I wouldn’t hesitate to use her again.”

“Hannah is amazing! We've left our girl with her twice now, and she took really good care of her and adapted to her needs for 100%! Thank you so much, we'll definitely be back ❤️”

“Would rate ten stars if we could. We have never had to board our pup for longer than two days and we put our full trust in Timm for our nine day trip. It was also our dog's first experience with a cat and Timm made sure that experience went smoothly. Timm also set up a video call well in advance of our pup's stay to assure us of the other pets he'd be staying with and the home he would be staying at. When we arrived, he ran right up to the house and made himself at home. We got several updates throughout our honeymoon and enjoyed all of the photos and videos. We are so grateful for Timm and plan to book with him in the future.”

“We went on a trip and couldn't take Liala because she is scared of car rides. This was the longest I've been apart from my big girl and it's my first time trying out Rover so I had worries but Terrie left a great first impression. She's very friendly and flexible. My dog acted like she was at home as soon as she entered Terries home and I could see she was very comfortable. We had spotty cell service way up north but Terrie made sure to keep us posted with pics and updates about Liala.”
“Christine was wonderful to work with and took great care of our goldendoodle! She was responsive, flexible in drop off and pick up times, took him on walks and gave him love. All we could ask for and will absolutely use her again in the future! Thanks so much Christine!!”

“We had our dog Bean stay with Kristie and Bryan when my wife and I were in the hospital welcoming our new baby! They were so flexible and even came to pick up bean since we were already in the hospital. We were so relieved that Bean had a safe and fun place to be. The updates and pictures were just what we needed to feel sure he was getting the best care and attention.”

“You were amazing. You took care of my baby and kept me updated on your activities. You even agree to keep him for few more hrs due to our fight arriving late. I do appreciate you for going above and beyond for us.”

Nathan and his family are wonderful! Very warm and welcoming people. Our senior lab liked them immediately and enjoyed snuggling with them on the couch. She was super anxious about a big thunderstorm and Nathan handled the situation with sensitivity and care. Two big thumbs up from us!! 👍👍

Susan was fantastic with my dog, Bodie! He had such a great time at her place and loved playing with her resident dog. Bodie is a pretty anxious guy and I was nervous about leaving him, but he took to Susan right away and clearly felt at ease around her. I’ll definitely use Susan again when I need someone to watch Bodie!

Koda loved his stay with Megan and Michael and obviously had a great time with Augie. He had so much fun I was thinking he wasn’t going to want to come home. Megan kept me updated each day with activities and pictures. We had a relaxing family vacation knowing Koda was being well taken care of.

Hiro can be quirky at times, but they did an amazing job playing and spending time with him. We would love to use them again in the future!

First stay with Dave but will definitely repeat! Took great care of my baby for the week and can tell she had a great time and was very comfortable at his home. Was incredibly helpful and understanding with changes in my flights and having to adjust her drop off and pick up super last minute with no issues. Glad I found someone new i can trust my fur baby with.

Bre and Adam took great care of our big pup. We were assured that he settled in well for the time he was with them. They gave him lots of special cuddles and hugs. He also had a great time playing with their fur babies. He looked relaxed and comfortable from their photo updates. Glad to have Bre and Adam look after him. Thanks so much.
My two love going to Theresas! They get excited as soon as we turn into her neighborhood. They love running around in her big backyard and getting to play with Russel. Theresa always keeps us updated on how they're doing and is so accommodating for drop off/ pick up times.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
