“Rachel took such good loving care of Bronx! I was nervous and sad leaving him with a sitter as this was my first time using Rover but she sent me photos during my trip and gave me updates so it put me at ease. “Sedona had a wonderful stay! Ms. Terrie was warm and welcoming and it was clear that Sedona bonded quickly with her. Sedona had fun playing with Terrie's two college-age kids who were home for winter break and going for walks on the nearby parkway. We appreciated all the updates and photographs while we were gone. Sedona received great care and attention and cannot wait to go back! We will absolutely use Ms. Terrie again!”

“We have used Eric and Martha 3 times in the last year and Ruby loves her stays with them. They are very flexible and easy to work with and they take such good care of our pup. I made a mistake in the last booking and they were very understanding and even went out of their way in making accommodations for us. They are both so sweet with Ruby and they care for her as if she was their own. They send alot of photos and videos, which we love. We will definitely use them again!”

“We highly recommend Chee and Ju for all your pet sitting needs! From the start, they were very accommodating and kept us updated with photos throughout the four nights Bentley was with them. “Kara and Adam were amazing! I was a little leery about leaving my pup at someone else’s house for the first time, but I could tell Tupelo was in good hands and she had a blast! Kara is great about sending pictures and updates along the way, so I could see all the love and attention they were giving Tupelo. Kara, Adam, Oscar and family were awesome with Tupelo and I hope to become a regular patron of theirs in the future!”

Amy took great care of my dog Maple! Maple is dog-reactive and takes a while to warm up to people, but Amy showed him nothing but patience and made it a great, fun stay for him. She asked great questions at our meet and greet and when I dropped him off to make sure she knew his favorite toys and games, his meal and treat habits, and how to make him feel supported. I felt assured he was in safe and attentive hands! She even agreed to keep him an extra night when our flight got delayed, and her flexibility and understanding turned a minor nightmare into a small hiccup. Apologies to the neighbors that had to listen to Maple bark all weekend, but huge thanks to Amy! 💖

Brittni and Michael were great with Olive. They were warm and welcoming when I arrived and made sure that Olive was settled in. They promised me timely updates and allowed me to enjoy my trip without worrying about my dog. Having them work at home was awesome because that is what Olive is used to. Would book again! Thank you.

Ken took great care of Koda during her 1st non-family overnight. He made sure to have a full understanding of Koda’s needs and routines. Koda was so excited when I dropped her off she didn't even care that I was leaving. I can tell that Ken took care of Koda like she was his own dog and would definitely recommend!

Dave and family were super awesome hosts to my old man for the weekend! He has trouble moving around with his arthritis, but they made sure to walk him with his little harness and get them outside in the grass where he could lounge around! His little girls also tucked him in - so sweet!! Highly recommend for anyone looking for hands-on attention for their loved ones while they are away! Will definitely be reaching out when Puckett needs another weekend away from dad - 20 out of 10!!

Jack spent just over a week at Megan and Michael’s house and we could tell from all the updates he was absolutely LOVING his doggy vacation!! Megan sent daily updates with pictures and videos of Jack and Augie playing, walking and lounging together. Megan’s communication was top notch and we felt so at ease knowing that Jack was in such good hands our entire trip. Thanks for being such attentive and caring dog sitters Megan, Michael and family!

Nathan and his family are wonderful! Very warm and welcoming people. Our senior lab liked them immediately and enjoyed snuggling with them on the couch. She was super anxious about a big thunderstorm and Nathan handled the situation with sensitivity and care. Two big thumbs up from us!! 👍👍

Jennifer, Eric and their kids did a wonderful job sitting for Hiro. You could tell they are truly pet people and cared for our dog while we were away. They sent daily pics and took him on walks. Hiro can be quirky at times, but they did an amazing job playing and spending time with him. We would love to use them again in the future!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
