About: I've loved animals all my life. I got my first puppy when I was about 13 years old, full of pre-teen enthusiasm for learning all about dog behavior and puppy training strategies. Now that my own beloved dog is no longer with us, I've found myself wishing I had more opportunities to connect with animals on a regular basis. I've taken every chance I could to pet sit for friends and acquaintances over the years, but recently I realized that I could also be using Rover to make pet care a more regular part of my life! Since I'm also meant to share something here that makes me "stand out" as a sitter, I'll say that animals do tend to feel particularly safe and relaxed around me. If I were to take a guess as to why that is, I think I would say that it's probably a combination of: 1) genuinely loving pets and wanting to have a positive interaction with them, 2) not bringing anxious energy into the room, which I think is something that most pets can sense, and 3) knowing enough about animal behavior to not escalate any existing anxieties or aggression. As someone who has had a beloved pet, I know how important it is to find someone to care for your pet that you can trust to accommodate their particular needs, and to create a safe, happy environment for them while you're away. If you'll trust me to be that person, then nothing would make me happier than to give your pet an amazing visit, walk, or staycation! I work full time (8 hours M-F) in Arden Hills, but I have a fairly flexible work schedule. My preference for pet care would be to mostly fit it in before and after work (my hours can usually be adjusted based on a pet's daily schedule), but I also have the flexibility to pop out for short walks in the middle of the day, if needed. I can also work from home if absolutely necessary, but I would not wish to do that frequently. I am not able to host pets in my home at this time, but if I can come and care for your pets at their own home, I am happy to follow whatever instructions you give for how to make your pet feel happy and safe and cared for during your absence! I am a careful instruction follower, so I will refer back to any information you can give me about what your pet is accustomed to when you are home, and how you would like me to care for them when you're gone. If you feel nervous at all about leaving them, I'm also more than happy to send regular updates to you about how they are doing!

About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life and bring me so much joy. I’m the type of person who will stop what I’m doing to ask if I can say hi to a dog. Growing up, my mom had a pug/cocker spaniel mix named Samsung, and when I was in college, my dad got a 120-pound Rottweiler/Black Lab mix named Moosey, who quickly became my best buddy. Sadly, he passed away from cancer about a year ago. My dad now has a British Black Lab named Sasha, who has become my new best friend. I regularly stop by to take her on walks, play with her, and make sure she gets plenty of attention while my dad is working. Caring for dogs has always come naturally to me, and I genuinely love spending time with them. I'm currently working full time as a Marketing Lead on the Marketplace Ads team at Best Buy. However, I work from home on Friday, so i'm available Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I live in a newly built apartment complex with a fenced-in dog area and plenty of walking trails nearby. Dogs are welcome on my furniture.

About: My husband and our family have been watching dogs on Rover since before it was even called Rover. We've lived overseas a few times so if you see gaps in our reviews, that is why. We are very active with our doggie guests and would love to host your dog. We typically go on walks once a day and on weekends typically try to be outside more (as the winter weather permits). We're open to requests to take your pup to dog parks, bike rides, or walks depending on your pup's preferences. Note: you will typically see delayed responses past 9PM but will get back to you as soon as I see your messages. Thanks! Both my husband and I work full time M-F but I work from home and would be able to take bathroom breaks or walks mid-day. If you needed someone to stop by and let your dog out, it would have to be within the Columbia Heights, Fridley, Shoreview area. We have a fenced in yard in the back that we take out the dogs to hang, throw a ball, or relax. Inside the house we leave it open range as long as your pup can handle no accidents, no chewing the kids' stuffies (it's hard I know!), etc. When we are gone, we do like to crate our visitors so they don't get into mischief while we are gone.

"For example, a slow blink from a cat is their way of saying "I love you," while a soft "mee mee" often means "come here." With dogs, I always approach respectfully: letting them sniff my open palm first (never reaching over their head, as it can feel dominant), then gently petting the shoulder and down the side. Energy matters so much—staying calm, happy, and positive helps even anxious pets relax quickly. I have a whole "warehouse" of these insights from years of close observation, and I love using them to build trust and joy. I'm reliable, patient, and genuinely excited to care for your pets as if they were my own. I'll play with them, give plenty of love and cuddles, follow your instructions to a T, and make sure they feel at home. Being away from your furry family is tough—I get it, and I'll do my best to keep things feeling normal and happy for them (and send you lots of updates and pictures so you can see for yourself!). I can provide most of the same loving care as other sitters—feedings, fresh water, potty breaks, playtime, toy fun, and house check-ins—but due to some mobility limits, I focus on shorter, gentle walks (up to about 15 minutes) or indoor/outdoor potty time and enrichment instead of longer neighborhood strolls. This works wonderfully for calmer dogs, seniors, smaller breeds, or cats who prefer cozy companionship. I'm happy to adapt to your pet's energy level and needs! Availability I'm generally flexible and can arrange visits to fit your pet's schedule—morning, midday, evening, and bedtime routines. I can do drop-in visits, overnight sitting (if selected), or daily check-ins to ensure they're fed, pottied, loved, and happy throughout the day. A typical day We'll start with feeding, fresh water, and a gentle potty break or short walk if your pet enjoys it. Then lots of playtime with toys, gentle petting and interaction based on their cues, maybe some training games or just relaxing together. About: I’v had 2 cats, a german sheaperd & a husky mix. I also lived with both cats & dogs while with roommates & of course have been around many pets of family & friend’s. Currently, I have an elder pitbull named Ladybird with my partner. I am a big home-body who helps care for disabled people few times of week in the evening (usually 4pm-9pm). Other than that, I am usually available short notice & have plenty of time for check-ins to work with you & your pet. -Will always keep leashed when out -Understands pets come with many different personalities & will try to adapt to offer them the most comfort. About: I have had my own dog since I was 4. I also have been a dog sitter for many of my neighbors for years. I have experience with frequent visits during the day and overnight sitting. I’ve also had experience with special conditions such as giving medication and caring for pets who are ill. For example, my dog needs ear drops and allergy medication, so I have experience with those types of medication specifically. I also have experience cat sitting and caring for other pets, like small rodents or snakes. Currently I am working full time, hybrid, with two days in the office. I’m available for visits during the mornings and afternoons/nights during the week or weekend. I will be more available during the holiday season as well and can sit for an extended period of time if you are on vacation. I have a cat at home so I cannot provide home services, but I am available for house sitting! About: I have always loved being around dogs! I had a pup in my family for about 5 years when I was younger. Other than him I enjoy my family and friend’s dogs. I love taking them out for potty breaks and walks. I have house/dog sat multiple times for my family members. Treats are my love language and I never mind cleaning up accidents! I currently work full time but I get done with my days around noon. My schedule can be flexible if I get noticed ahead of time. I also travel for work. It’s not often but I will give a good heads up!
