“Tara was amazing! She sent really comforting messages and photos to me everyday I was on my trip. I could tell my cat got lots of pets and play time to keep her going interaction-wise through the long week I was out of town, something that was super important for her well being and Tara really did a great job on that front! I would definitely trust her with my cat’s care again in the future.”

“Katelyn took great care of our cats while we were out of town for over a week. Great communication with me about the visits and very responsive. Will definitely be using her again for future cat sitting needs.”

“Ava was really amazing. She was very professional, and above all she was very thoughtful, kind and caring with our senior with special needs dog. She met with us prior to our scheduled drop ins so she was familiar with Cole’s needs and routines. She was an exceptional communicator, sending pictures and updating us with how things were going, and very understanding with our shy senior dog. We would highly recommend her and definitely look forward to using her again!”

“We were so glad Katherine could come back to care for our sweet kitty. She is a great support when we are out of town! Always communicative and thorough with updates. Definitely recommend!”

“What a blessing to find Juli! She is so knowledgeable about dogs and has so much love for them. My Valentine has a special bond with her. I recommend her without any hesitation. Thanks Juli!”

“Dani loves our cats! It helps because I miss them when we go ❤️ It was my first major booking with someone outside of family, and I'm so glad I did it. Hope to see you again, Dani!”

“Olivia was amazing with my year old GSP. She was punctual, friendly and enthusiastic during the initial meet and greet. Afterwards, she was always on time and even stayed a few minutes past the allocated 30 minute session just to make sure my pups needs were met. I highly recommend her for any of your pet watching needs.”

About: I have lots of patience for all kinds of animals with all kinds of behaviors. I am passionate about cats dogs, and any pet I meet. I am often the favorite human to the animals in my life. I currently have a part time job but am planning to do full time school in the fall. I will have time outside of classes, and plenty of time over the summer, to care and play with your pets! I will try to get to know your pet as best I can. I am flexible and willing to snuggle, play, go on walks or look out the window with your furry friend. If I am ever watching pets in my own home I have a very friendly 30 lb terrier mix that loves to play with other dogs.

About: I grew up raising cattle, goats, and horses. I have had pet dogs, cats, and fish all my life. I was a vet tech in my early twenties, and a milk goat and chicken owner in my thirties. My family and I currently live with and care for a dog, cats, and an indoor rabbit. I went through the AKC good citizen training with our current dog, and use only positive behavior strategies. I love all animals, and love to house sit and pet sit for friends and family. I am a substitute teacher and currently have the time to pet and house sit for more families in order to make extra income for my kids’ college fund. I am also a master gardener and love caring for plants as well as pets! I am a substitute teacher, so I have an open schedule during the summer, weekends, and holidays. I am able to give your pet the time and attention it deserves. I treat my pets as important and treasured members of the family. I promise to treat your pets the same as I treat mine. I take pet sitting very seriously, and will do my very best to make sure your family member is getting lots of love and attention and living its best life while you are away. I know I would want the same in a pet sitter!
About: I love dogs and have had a dog most of my life, growing up and as an adult! I grew up with a smaller dog (Shit Zhu). Currently we have one female Labradoodle; we lost our 15 y.o lab mix in fall of 2025 so Daisy loves having friends to come over to stay! We are an active family and spend a lot of time outside. I have 2 teenage kids age 15 and 17. They are also dog lovers and are very helpful with pet care. If needed, the kids can give your pet space too. I have good awareness of pet behaviors, can read your dog’s comfort level and can provide space as needed. We would love to host your dog at a nurturing and calm environment with plenty of walks! I currently work full time daytime hours in healthcare. I have 2 kids who are around before and after school most days to visit with dogs and let them out. I own a home with a tie out for bathroom breaks. Dogs will also get regular walks and playtime in the home with my 2 friendly dogs and my active family! I only take one Rover guest at a time but if you have 2 dogs in your family that both need care, please ask. Exceptions may be made.
“Anna has been wonderful. I have a pretty reactive German Shepherd, so finding someone who can be patient during the warming-up period can be challenging. Kaya has already made great progress in getting comfortable with Anna, which is a true reflection of Anna's kind and calm nature. Anna has only worked with Kaya twice, but I’m planning to schedule regular visits based on the great results we’ve seen so far.”
About: I am an experienced home sitter with the ability to handle daily needs and emergencies competently, who is at the top of anyone's list when asked who they most associate with animal love and care. I pride myself on connecting with pets on their level while following pet owner requests with exact detail. Don't be shy about asking for your own expectations of what care would look like - all of us have quirks or different ways of treating our pets and most pets have some behavior issues. The only animals that I will not accept are those which require above-average exercise, such as jogging or biking. I am extremely respectful of privacy and my only interest is getting to know your pet(s) and keeping them safe, happy and satisfied. My schedule is flexible and I work from home so your fur babies would not be crated/left alone for more than a couple of hours at a time when necessary. 'Leave it better than you found it' is my general motto. While dogs are my main love, I am happy to sit for cats, fish, turtles, birds, hamsters, reptiles etc. as well. Let's connect - I can't wait to meet your pets and make sure we're a match. My rates are a reflection of my ability and availability to care for your pets nearly 24/7. I feel that this arrangement is more stabilizing for pets who may otherwise feel anxious about being without their humans. Whether your pets run the home or you run the pets (and everywhere in between), I will treat your pets how YOU want them to be taken care of. I'm happy to continue whatever training methods you use while you're away or lay on the couch with them "all day," if that is what your pet is used to. I accept and discount multiple-pet homes, especially if there is a fenced in yard or they already walk well on a leash. Your animals will be well loved and cared for!

I really miss my Best friend Kirby. I live in a dog friendly apartment with a fenced dog park behind the building. My job is located next door to my apartment complex. I am able to walk home to check on, let out, and walk a dog I am sitting. I work Monday through Friday from 6am to 2pm as a Medical Assistant for over 10 years. Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Shoreview. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
