“Mauren is amazing! She stepped in on very short notice to help us out, and handled our 2 large dogs like a pro! She sent lots of pictures and videos, and our dogs seem to really love her. I look forward to having her back in the future!”

“Sonia was AMAZING! Our cats are usually a little scared of new people but after the second visit, they both came out to get pets from her. Sonia was very communicative, kind, and really loves animals. I recommend her to any cat owners, and I will definitely use her services again. 10/10”
“Sophie was great with Loki and even accommodated extra time on short notice to make sure he got enough love over the holidays. Greatly appreciate her care and thorough reports!”

About: Hi, my name is Mark. I love meeting people's pets of all kinds. I have been caring for animals since I was a child. I also have a master's degree in behavioral science. My combination of lived experience and knowledge of behavioral science uniquely equips me to care for your animals in a kind and gentle manner, while still being responsible and reliable. These skills prepare me to help relax and de-escalate with anxious animals. I have a job which is flexible with my schedule, including working from home and choosing my own hours, which allows me more time with pets! I have a back yard with a fence that my senior dog can play in, as well as many parks nearby my home in Roseville.
“Macy was awesome. My usually shy cats warmed up to her and she sent pictures every day. Their food and water were full when I got home. She even brought my mail and an Amazon package in for me. Would definitely hire again. Thanks, Macy!!”

“Anna was amazing. Our dogs were tired from several days of driving in an RV and were somewhat anxious being in a hotel room. Anna took them on a long walk and played with them in the room. So grateful rover.com exists!!”

About: I’ve been dog sitting since I was 14 and have had two dogs of my own since I was 7. I absolutely love spending time with dogs—walking, playing, and making sure they feel happy, healthy, and safe. My goal is to give you peace of mind while you’re away, knowing your dog is in caring and loving hands! 🐶❤️ I work part-time, so I have plenty of time to spend with your pups! I’m a college student looking to make some extra money while doing something I truly enjoy. Weekends work best for me, but I’m pretty flexible and will do my best to work around your schedule! I’m reliable, respectful, and will treat your home with the same care and respect I would give my own. I’m happy to follow any and all preferences or instructions you have to make sure you and your pup feel comfortable! 🐾
About: I love animals I even took animal science class to find out more of what my major that I would like. I have taken care of any pets ex snakes, chinchillas bunnies etc.... I am available most weekends when I can I often go for walks in early morning and then often a nighttime when needed for dogs, very flexible with how the your owners want to get the pets taken care of in orderly I typically send some updates with photos during the day how the pets are doing and would ask questions when needed. I am willing to take care of multiples animals if needed
About: I have had two dogs in my life but have been the “best aunt ever” for many of my brothers and friends dogs. I understand that not all dogs are the same, they have their preferences, their likes/dislikes, and their levels of activity and stimulus. As a sitter I believe it’s important to keep up with the pets regular routine as much as possible by following the rules established by their owners. I love to spoil a dog and take them on more walks and more cuddles than normal because when owners/parents are on vacation i want the pet to have a fun vacation as well. I currently don’t have any pets so am able to care for the animal that needs to be an “only pet”. But I have friends and neighbors with dogs so I also have a way to help they socialize. I work a full time job but can do it from anywhere with internet. My job is pretty flexible so if I need to walk a dog at a certain time or have a cat sit on my lap all day I can usually make that work. I have a fully fenced in yard with lots of fun smells. Most of the yard is five+ feet fence but some is a traditional chainlink fence. We have a magnetic screen on the back door so when the weather is nice we have the option of opening the door so the dog and go in and out as much as they want. We also have a full door that can be closed if the pet needs someone with them when in the yard.
“Dani has taken care of my cat Razzberry on two different occasions this summer. She took very good care of my little girl and I wasn’t worried about her at all while I was gone.”

“Thank you, Phoebe for taking such good care of our cats while we were on vacation! It meant a lot to read your details about how they were handling our absence: eating, behavior, etc. We were able to relax & have fun, instead of worrying! You did a super job handling all the things I requested at the house, and we came home to find everything in order and the cats well-adjusted & happy. Thanks a million for showing great care with Holly & Daffodil!”
“Lauren was wonderful in taking care of Mr. Kitty who was newly diagnosed as diabetic. She was very punctual as Kitty needed injections and feedings every 12 hrs. She left little notes as to how he was doing with injections and his litter box habits. We are very pleased with the time that she has spent with Mr. Kitty”

“Natalie was fantastic. We used her for a drop in visit so the dogs didn't have such a long day by themselves. She sent a nice update and some pictures. It was all greatly appreciated!”

“Katelyn was great! Her communication was always quick and friendly. She was flexible the day of our outing which we greatly appreciated. She sent lots of great photos and we knew our 4 dogs were well taken care of. Highly recommend!”

“Elizabeth always goes above and beyond to care for our dogs. You can tell this is her priority above all else, and always ensures they are safe and taken care of. 10/5 would recommend”

“We asked Tyler to do a drop-in visit for our three cats while away for the weekend, and he did a great job. Our cats were happy when we arrived home. Litter robot had adequate litter, water fountain and food bowls were full. One of our cats is very shy, he put in effort to find her to know that she’s well but ultimately respected her boundaries and put wet food in a safe space for her. Would definitely recommend tyler to others needing a rover sitter and would love to hire him again! Thanks again”

“What a blessing to find Juli! She is so knowledgeable about dogs and has so much love for them. My Valentine has a special bond with her. I recommend her without any hesitation. Thanks Juli!”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
