Dogs have been a central part of our lives for as long as we can remember, and we know how important it is to find a safe, loving, and attentive environment for your pup while you're away. When your dog stays with us, they aren't just guest pets—they become part of the family! Why Your Dog Will Love It Here: -Constant Care & Supervision: Both adults in our home work from home full-time. That means your pup will almost never be left alone! They’ll get frequent potty breaks, steady companionship, and plenty of mid-day love. -Spacious & Secure Yard: We have a large, fully fenced-in yard perfect for zoomies, games of fetch, or lounging in the sun safely. -A Built-In Playmate: Our 2.5-year-old, 45 lb mutt mix is super friendly, energetic, and always eager to make new canine friends. If your dog loves to play, they’ll have a fantastic partner in crime! -Kid-Friendly & Loving Atmosphere: Our two kids (ages 8 and 11) have grown up around animals, know how to respect a dog's space, and love giving extra pets and gentle attention. Our Daily Routine & Environment: Because we work from home, our daily schedule is very flexible. A typical day includes: -Morning: Morning stretch and breakfast, followed by supervised yard playtime. -Mid-Day: Periodic breaks out in the yard, desk-side snuggles, and interactive play sessions. -Evening: Family relaxing time indoors, treats, and lots of cozy couch or dog-bed lounging. Important Notes for Guest Dogs: To make sure everyone has a safe and happy stay, we ask that guest dogs meet a few basic requirements: -Cat & Dog Compatibility: We have two resident cats and one playful dog. Guests should be comfortable around cats (or happy to ignore them) and enjoy playing or peacefully coexisting with other dogs. -House-Trained & Vaccinated: Up-to-date vaccinations and basic house-training are required to keep all our pets healthy and safe. We’d love to host a meet-and-greet to make sure it’s a perfect match for everyone. We look forward to meeting you and your pup! Kids are both in soccer and if there’s a game, dogs will likely get some rest at home while we are gone. Otherwise home to supervise and play. Cat & Dog Compatibility: We have two resident cats and one playful dog with a large fenced in yard. Guests should be comfortable around cats (or happy to ignore them) and enjoy playing or peacefully coexisting with other dogs. Our dog is crate trained and sleeps there each night. Happy to crate as well. We have a separate guest space for dogs who want a bit more space to relax in an unfamiliar place.

About: I’ve grown up with animals in the house and on the farm my entire life, from small dachshunds to chow chows to large hunting labs. We’ve had very rascal puppies, young high energy dogs, and very senior dogs on medications and needing special attention. I’ve house sat all sizes of dogs, from terriers and corgis to golden retrievers, as well as cats, both friendly and standoff-ish. Growing up with animals in the house, I know firsthand that pets aren’t pets, they are family, you love them dearly, when they get sick you clean up after them, and they make the world go round. I love pets that are very involved with everyday life (see my photos) of pets “helping” with homework, regular walks and play time, and bedtime snuggles, as well as pets that are in their own world and coexistence works best. I work full-time outside the house, M-F, so I’m mainly looking for weekends and overnights. I’m able to check-in on my lunch breaks when needed, and happy to do so. I grew up in the country and our dogs roamed free, while most animals that I’ve house sat have fenced in yards, so regular walks and active play is necessary. I’m used to animals both being left to roam the house or be crated during the day. I’m a pretty active person and my animals are active parts of my life, so if your pet enjoys people and is able-bodied, we’ll probably be going on lots of walks, finding nearby parks, eating meals together, and snuggling up to watch a movie. No one is allowed to meet your animal unless there is prior approval, especially no other animals unless yours is friendly and willing. I (unfortunately) have experience with animals getting sick, jumping a fence and going for a run, and unfriendly dogs coming close. I recognize these are all unwanted, however very possible, and having experience navigating and handling these often stressful situations, is needed to keep your animal safe and comfortable. I take every precaution to mitigate these risks, and have learned from my own animals and their mischievery.

About: I grew up with dogs, and miss them dearly in my life! Friends, neighbors and family have relied on me for years to take care of their pets: while away traveling, or in hardships. From closely monitoring my friend's cat after surgery when she couldn't call off work, to weeklong stays in family homes with rambunctious puppies, I've done it all. I've always had a passion for animals, including exotic pet care! I have personally kept a freshwater aquarium and understand that fish and reptile care is much more detailed and intensive than many may first assume. You can rest easy knowing your pets will be in good hands, and will be given the detailed care and attention they deserve. I'm currently in recovery from a chronic pain condition. This gives me incredible flexibility to take on care at any time, and give your pets the attention they deserve! Depending on my health, my availabily may fluctuate, but now that I'm finally on the upswing I'm ready to be active and my abilites will only increase in the coming months! I am currently not offering care through my own home, but I am happy to provide check ins on many varieties of pets! I adore reptiles and exotic pets, and will happily feed, administer care, and help wear them out by playing inside, in the yard, or walking the nearby area.

About: Hello! We are a pet-loving family in Northeast Minneapolis who miss having a dog around the house and would love to fill that void by helping you out in your time of need! We unfortunately had to say goodbye to our beloved golden retriever a few years ago and while we'd love to add a dog to the house again, with two preschoolers our home life can be a handful and it just isn't the right time for the full commitment of dog ownership. That's why we love to open our hearts and home to furry guests! If you're visiting my profile for cat boarding, it is very much a cat-loving house as well - we have 2 cats in our home. I work a hybrid schedule, with flexibility and leniency to choose when I go into office. Daytime schedules are flexible for potty breaks, walks, and stimulation. Always available in the evenings to get some energy out before bedtime. As you can see in the photos, our daughters have inherited the pet-loving genes from their parents - your pet will never be without attention! We have a decent-sized yard but not fenced in. We do have a long leash we can attach in the backyard so your pet can be with us while we're playing outside. Our neighborhood is very sidewalk friendly and bustling with other dog owners. Your dog will always be leashed when out of the house. We are also very friendly with the neighbors next door, fully-fenced, and can use their backyard for off leash time. We have two cats in our home who are very sweet and have had no issues with any of our guests. But our standard is just to create separate floors (unless it's a known guest) so there need not be any interaction during your pet's stay to avoid conflict. One cat tends to make herself scarce during our guests' visits, while the other watches curiously and without incident. Our basement is finished and I always stay down there with our guests and sleep on the couch when we have visitors (they're welcome to cuddle!). As for cat boarding - the same as above applies, we can always create separate areas for litter/feeding for your cat and the resident cats. You will get frequent photo and text updates throughout your pet's stay - take a look at my reviews to confirm. Apologies if the stats on my profile don't indicate 100%, as I tend to keep in touch over text messages as opposed to Rover's messaging (which is what counts towards that metric).

About: My husband and our family have been watching dogs on Rover since before it was even called Rover. We've lived overseas a few times so if you see gaps in our reviews, that is why. We are very active with our doggie guests and would love to host your dog. We typically go on walks once a day and on weekends typically try to be outside more (as the winter weather permits). We're open to requests to take your pup to dog parks, bike rides, or walks depending on your pup's preferences. Note: you will typically see delayed responses past 9PM but will get back to you as soon as I see your messages. Thanks! Both my husband and I work full time M-F but I work from home and would be able to take bathroom breaks or walks mid-day. If you needed someone to stop by and let your dog out, it would have to be within the Columbia Heights, Fridley, Shoreview area. We have a fenced in yard in the back that we take out the dogs to hang, throw a ball, or relax. Inside the house we leave it open range as long as your pup can handle no accidents, no chewing the kids' stuffies (it's hard I know!), etc. When we are gone, we do like to crate our visitors so they don't get into mischief while we are gone.
