I live in Columbia Heights with my dog, Oso, my cat, Syd, an Angora bunny & five chickens! With such a full house, I’m comfortable caring for all kinds of pets, each with their own unique needs and personalities. I’ve always loved helping people and being able to do that by giving their furry family members the love, attention, and care they deserve is extra special to me. I use Rover myself when I travel, so I know how reassuring it is to have someone trustworthy looking after your pets while you’re away. I’m a real estate photographer, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of availability for pet care. While I don’t currently offer in home boarding because I have a variety of pets of my own, I absolutely love providing care in a pet’s home where they feel most comfortable and at ease. When caring for your pets, my goal is to treat them like they’re my own while respecting the routines, preferences, and instructions you’ve established for them. I’ll follow your lead on everything from feeding schedules and walks to playtime, cuddles, and any special care they may need. I genuinely love animals and find so much joy in getting to know their personalities, keeping them happy and comfortable, and making sure they feel loved while you’re away. Whether that means an energetic play session, a relaxing walk, or simply some extra attention and companionship, I’ll make sure your pets receive plenty of care, patience, and affection!

Whitney was absolutely wonderful with our four cats! They have a few extra needs, including medications and one who needs to be kept separate from the others, and Whitney handled everything so attentively and confidently. She went above and beyond to make sure they were well cared for, gave them plenty of attention and pets, and even fixed our microchip feeders when they were giving us trouble. She was incredibly sweet, kind, and communicative throughout her visits, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was clear that she genuinely cared about our cats and their individual needs. We would absolutely hire Whitney again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!
Whitney and I have been close friends for many years. We bonded over our mutual love of raising Angora rabbits, which is no easy task! Angoras require an immense amount of specialized attention, gentle handling, daily grooming, and a deep understanding of unique animal needs. Whitney possesses all of these qualities in abundance. If she can flawlessly manage the meticulous care and high-maintenance routines of Angora rabbits, she can handle absolutely any pet with ease. Over the years Whitney has watched my bunnies and my cats numerous times while I have gone on vacation. I love the consistent updates she provides and especially appreciate her punctuality. Whitney is one of the most dedicated, patient, and attentive animal caretakers you will ever find.
We have a four year-old Blue Lacy named Blu with some medical issues that need to be monitored. This makes us a little anxious when we need to go out of town. But nothing puts us more at ease than when Whitney is looking after Blu. She knows his medical history and keeps a keen eye for any symptoms that may warrant a trip to the vet. Her communication is beyond excellent and always provides us with updates. Whitney is always our first, and preferred, choice when looking for someone to watch after our Blu.

Schedule
I work as a real estate photographer, which gives me a flexible and ever changing schedule. I often have gaps between shoots throughout the day, making it easy for me to fit in pet check ins, walks, and quality time with animals. The variety in my schedule allows me to be flexible and dependable while still giving pets the attention and care they need.

- Before caring for a pet, I think it’s important to understand any health concerns, special needs, or behaviors I should be aware of so I can provide the best care possible. This includes any walking habits, triggers, or situations that may cause anxiety or agitation, as well as how they typically interact with other animals, people, or children. I’d also love to know their favorite toys, activities, & ways they enjoy spending their time so I can make each visit fun and engaging. Lastly, having emergency contact information & your preferred veterinarian on hand ensures I know exactly who to contact and what steps to take if an unexpected situation arises.
