Hello! We are a pet-loving family in Northeast Minneapolis who miss having a dog around the house and would love to fill that void by helping you out in your time of need! We unfortunately had to say goodbye to our beloved golden retriever a few years ago. At the time, we had 2 kids under 2 years old and it just wasn't the time to add a pet. So in the summer of 2023 we started sitting on Rover and have loved opening our hearts and home to furry guests! We were Rover customers first, and know the comfort that was provided us from the great sitters we found, and aim to provide that same level of comfort to our guests and their owners. Over the years we've seen it all: from a 7 lb. Yorkie to a 100 lb. Great Pyrenees. Two month old puppies to 16+ year old seniors. High energy to needing assistance with a harness for getting up and walking. We love all the diverse guests we are blessed to care for. If you're visiting our profile for cat boarding, it is very much a cat-loving house as well - we have 2 cats in our home and have had a few cat visitors over years.

Dave was very reliable and tuned into my two cats—where they go, how to draw them out, and building a relationship with them. His communication was terrific: he gave handy updates and posted sweet photos, and I knew they were in good hands. I strongly recommend Dave!

Schedule
We are both home full-time right now, so plenty of flexibility for potty breaks, walks, and stimulation. Always available in the evenings to get some energy out before bedtime. Our daughters have been exposed to so many dogs and cats and have inherited the pet-loving genes from their parents - your pet will never be without attention!

Safety, trust & environment
We have a decent-sized yard but not fenced in. We do have a long leash we can attach in the backyard so your pet can be with us while we're playing outside. Our neighborhood is very sidewalk friendly and bustling with other dog owners. Your dog will always be leashed when out of the house. We are also very friendly with the neighbors next door, fully-fenced, and can use their backyard for off leash time. We have two cats in our home who are very sweet and have had no issues with any of our guests. But our standard is just to create separate floors (unless it's a known guest) so there need not be any interaction during your pet's stay to avoid conflict. One cat tends to make herself scarce during our guests' visits, while the other watches curiously, judging from the top of the couch. Our basement is finished and Dave always stay down there with our guests and sleep on the couch when we have visitors (they're welcome to cuddle!). As for cat boarding - the same as above applies, we can always create separate areas for litter/feeding for your cat and the resident cats. You will get frequent photo and text updates throughout your pet's stay - take a look at my reviews to confirm. Apologies if the stats on my profile don't indicate 100%, as I tend to keep in touch over text messages as opposed to Rover's messaging (which is what counts towards that metric).

A typical day
Your pet will be our buddy during the day while we work from home, a comfortable finished basement with lots of toys and couch and blankets to lay on, and two little girls who are pet lovers who love to play with our guests. Our neighborhood is completely lined with sidewalks and always busy with other dogs - lots of smells to investigate! And for cats, we have plenty of cat toys, cat nip, scratching posts, etc. to keep your pet stimulated. Lots of birds in the trees and feeders outside the windows, too!

- We will need to know if your pet has been around small children and how they have interacted with them, given that we have two preschoolers in the house. It's OK if your pet is not good with our resident cats as we are fine keeping separate quarters. Unless it's a last-minute request that we feel comfortable with based on profile details, we appreciate a meet and greet ahead of stays, to make sure it is a fit for all of us.
