“Scott did a great job caring for our boys! We have an elderly cat who required extra care + cleaning while we were away and Scott was very accommodating. They also sent us detailed updates, which helped us not worry while we were away as we knew Scott was keeping a close eye on our cats.”

“Ashley was very accommodating was able to book last minute and squeeze me in and still meet my kiddos needs. Communicative and fast response to any questions or concerns I had. Thanks”

About: 🐾 I’ve been around dogs for as long as I can remember, and I started dog sitting for friends, family, and neighbors when I was 10. When I got my own dog at 14, I fell in love with training and taught her over 20 tricks through patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. Over the years, I’ve built strong relationships with both pets and owners, and I’ve been lucky to receive referrals from people who trust me with their dogs. I love making sure dogs are not just cared for, but genuinely happy and engaged. Whether that’s walks, playtime, enrichment games, training practice, or just giving them lots of attention and affection, I always try to match each dog’s personality and energy level. I’m comfortable with dogs of different sizes, temperaments, and energy levels, and I always want them to feel safe, loved, and relaxed while you’re away. I’m a college student currently on summer break, so I have plenty of time throughout the day for walks, drop-ins, playtime, and giving pets lots of attention. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, so pet care is something I truly look forward to every day. I’m also studying Animal Science, which has made me even more passionate about animal care and behavior. I always want pets to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I pay close attention to routines, behavior, and comfort levels, and I’ll treat your pets and home with the same care and respect I would my own.
“Andrew came through with almost no notice and showed up promptly—total lifesaver. He was kind, calm, and instantly won over Princess Leia 🐾 (she says he’s welcome back anytime to play). Highly recommend!”

“Juli was a perfect dog sitter. Mac took to her right away. She took him for walks and took very good care of him and he was healthy and happy when we got home. I would definitely hire her again. Thanks much!”

About: With a lifetime of caring for dogs of all shapes and personalities, I know how important trust is. I show up on time, follow routines closely, and treat every dog like they’re my own. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine. I’m an early riser, so morning walks before my workday are one of my favorite ways to start the day. I also keep my weekends flexible and am available for morning and afternoon walks. This consistency helps me provide dependable, stress-free care for both you and your pup. When caring for pets, I follow your routines closely and keep things calm and consistent. I double check doors, gates, and leashes, and I pay close attention to each dogs body language with experience from Chihuahuas to great Danes, I know how to keep every pup, safe, comfortable, and well cared for.
About: Other than the fact that I have grown up with dogs of all sizes and temperament’s, I have also been working at a dog daycare for the past 4 years. Throughout these 4 years, I have gained knowledge in body language and proper handling. I am a college student at the U of M, but outside of times I have class (which is a surprisingly small amount), I am completely available and excited to spend time with your furry friend! I live in an apartment, so I do not have a yard, but I think I have a pretty comfy couch and I am always more than willing to take long walks. The first dog I fostered refused to go back home until we walked at least 2 miles each time we went outside, so I am prepared for walks that long, or longer!
About: I have always had dogs growing up and have found that having a companion as a pet makes a world of difference in our lives. I missed this companionship greatly throughout college and since graduating and am excited to be able to provide calm, loving, and supportive care. My family dog has a complex medical condition, so my experience ranges from the standard care to managing special diets and restrictions. As a nurse, I'm used to being calm, attentive, and dependable when it matters most. I bring that same mindset to pet care, using my free daytime hours to give your pets the attention, exercise, and companionship they deserve. I am a responsible and respectful guest and committed to honoring the privacy of client's homes while providing loving pet care. I have a dog park/play area in my building and live near a couple of parks, making my home a great place for calmer, well behaved animals.
“Emily is awesome! Very kind, friendly, and persevered through difficulties in getting into our building. Will definitely have Emily take care of our cat, Augie in the future.”

“Amber does a wonderful job with our boys! She is attentive to their needs, observant of their play preferences, and learned their unique personality quirks quickly. She followed our directions about food, water, litter, playtime, etc. to the letter! We are impressed, and our cats clearly feel safe and comfortable with her. We're definitely booking her in the future!”

“My mind was put at ease and I felt like I could relax better while I was out of town for a long weekend. I really appreciated all of the cute photos and updates with each visit. Thanks to Ryan for being so patient, but persistent with my “scaredy-cat.” I’m glad he made a new friend :-)”

“Anna was fantastic with my cats during her drop-in visits! She sent great updates, pictures/videos and made sure they got plenty of attention and play time. My boys absolutely loved her! I felt completely at ease and would highly recommend!”

About: I feel that cats and dogs naturally tend to be close to me, which might be related to my personality. When I was helping my friend take care of a dachshund, I was told that he didn't like to interact with male beings. But on the second day of taking care of the dachshund, he would often circle around me and want to play with me with toys. I work in healthcare industry so basically I work remotely almost every day Therefore, I have the flexibility to play with the pets! Also, I live alone so they can be around me all the time, they will not be feeling left out! Regular feeding and freshwater is essential! I will also spend an amount of time every day to play with dogs! at last, I will provide a clean and pet friendly environment for them!
“Trinity was so good to our kitties while we were away. She kept us updated and communicated with us well! Our kitties can get spooked with new people, but they warmed up to Trinity so fast! Will definitely use Trinity again when looking for a pet sitter.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Minneapolis
Thank you so much! The dogs were well cared for and happy! Abigail went above and beyond and carried in two heavy packages for us as well. She did a great job communicating before, during, and after the visits to reassure us that our Pyrenees was getting more comfortable and things were going well. She handled our other jumpy dog great too! Would absolutely book Abigail again!

She was an amazing cat sitter! She visited twice a day for several days to feed my cats, clean litter boxes, play with them and give them their medicine. She even cleaned up messes, brought in a package, and sent photo updates after every visit. My cats were happy, safe, and well cared for. I highly recommend her to anyone who needs a great pet sitter!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
