“Kaitlyn was amazing. My younger dog is not great with new people. Kaitlyn made friends with her so quickly, and I knew Kaitlyn was a winner. The updates she posted after each visit were super cute and informational. The pictures she took always made me home sick for my dogs, but I still appreciated all of them! I would recommend Kaitlyn to anyone who loves their dogs more than me (impossible). She was able to handle the raw feeding for my dogs and had my dogs eating out of her hands!”
“My cat can be a bit of a handful and Maddy handled her with kindness and professionalism. Overall great care for my cat and great communication with me. Would definitely rebook!”

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and have been a dedicated dog owner for over 8 years. For the past 3 years, I’ve also fostered pups, giving me experience with a wide range of temperaments and styles. I’m comfortable with everything from high energy personalities to shy or anxious dogs. I’m comfortable with senior dogs (my last pup was 18!), puppies and everything in between. At this time, I’m focusing on small and medium sized dogs so they will be the best match for my own dog and I can provide the best care possible. I work full time from home and am available to board in my house anytime for most lengths of time. Lots of time to play with your pup! Right now, I’m open to hosting small and medium pups—as they are the best matches for my own dog. My dog, Elliot, loves to go for walks (weather permitting) and we’d love for your pup to tag along! If the weather is bad, my yard is perfect for zoomies, ball/toy chasing, neighbor watching and basking in the sun. I have my own small pup who is energetic and loves to play, but isn’t pushy. I work from home so we are together all the time! We walk often—in the morning, at lunch and in evenings. I have a fenced in yard for potty breaks with lots of toys and enrichment. I am home most of the time, but would contain (kennel or pen if needed) when I leave and I’m also open to pups that aren’t kenneled but safe to leave out (I’d put away my own dog).
“Nick was very helpful, taking a last minute job to take care of our dog. He even took a second visit job when we couldn’t get back. He did everything I asked and was prompt and clear with his communication! Thanks Nick!”

“Taylor is the best! She always goes above and beyond every time she watches my cat. I completely trust her to care for her and give her so much love, just like she was her own. Highly recommend!”

“Darwin was excellent - consistent, thorough, highly communicative, and respectful. From the outset, they came prepared with treats, poop bags, and care questions, which made me feel that my cat was in good hands. Throughout the week, they carefully adhered to my cat's routine, including the daily administering of medication, and followed up with thorough care cards/reports. They even went above-and-beyond to scrub my cat's litter scoop. Most importantly, they were very patient and gentle in building trust with my apprehensive kitty, who warmed up to pets and cuddles within a matter of days. I came home to a content cat and a clean home. I would absolutely recommend Darwin to any pet parent!”

“Carla is amazing with our cat, Skol! She is a great communicator and we know skol is in good hands when we’re gone. Definitely recommend using her for your pet sitting needs!!”

About: I used to own two Cavaliers, and have taken care of numerous dogs on behalf of friends/family, including dog sitting for my sister's high anxiety rescue dog. I find that a calm, patient demeanor can win over even the most stranger-wary dog. I am in the process of changing careers, so am taking classes, which meet mostly online. Aside from the few hours a week when I volunteer to work with special-needs children in therapeutic horseback riding, my schedule is very flexible, including nights/weekends. Mornings? Evenings? Last minute? No problem. I think of pets as family, and will treat your pet like my family. (Don't worry, that's a good thing!) As a horseback rider, I find the skills of working with our animal friends transfer easily. Regardless of species, they enjoy human attention/affection, engagement and are often much smarter than we give them credit for.
“Having Gabriella as a sitter was great! She was very communicative and cooperative during my booking. She followed instructions well. I would definitely book her again.”

“Anne is the very best! She gave our pup a great visit, provided lots of pics of the fun they had together, and was so easy to work with! She was flexible and helped us out with a short notice request. I was at ease during a busy day knowing our pup was in good hands. Thank you Anne!!”

“She followed our instructions and sent great pictures of our cats. She even got a great picture of our cat who is notorious for hiding from everyone who comes into our apartment.”

“Kolleen was so helpful to do drop-ins for a few days while we were away and our primary dog watcher was at work during the day. As a beagle owner she understood our crazy beagles very well and I could tell they were excited to see her each day from the photos she sent! She made sure to capture their cutest angles too! I would absolutely trust her again with our dogs for boarding or a drop in visit!”

“Tori did such a wonderful job with the house visits for my two cats when I went out of town. She's friendly, kind and my cats loved her. I will definitely be re-booking with her in the near future!”

About: I’ve had the pleasure of being a pet owner myself for over 9 years and have cared for family and friends pets for over 20 years, with experience with reactive dogs specifically, as well as puppies and seniors alike. I’m currently working from home with flexible hours that allow for convenience to step out for walks, feeding time or check-ins/play-time as needed, especially local to St. Louis Park, Hopkins and Minneapolis. As my own dog is reactive to other pets I will only be able to provide care in your home/walks or playtime outside. I have experience pet and house-sitting and am comfortable with fitting into your routine as easily and seamlessly as possible. I am always comfortable with any level of communication, check-ins/photo documentation, home camera systems, and proof of locked doors/house security.

About: While I haven’t worked as a professional pet sitter, I’ve spent most of my life caring for animals. I grew up with two dogs and cats and was responsible for helping with feeding, walks, playtime, grooming, and daily care. I’m comfortable around pets of different ages and personalities, and I understand the importance of keeping them safe, happy, and well cared for while their owners are away. I’m reliable, attentive, and will treat your pets like my own. I work a flexible schedule, which allows me to dedicate time and attention to the pets in my care. Whether it’s walks, feeding, playtime, or simply providing companionship, I’m committed to making sure your pet feels comfortable, safe, and well cared for while you’re away. I’ll communicate regularly and follow your pet’s routine as closely as possible. I understand that every pet has unique needs and routines. I take the time to follow all care instructions carefully and create a safe, comfortable environment for your pet. Having grown up with both dogs and cats, I’m familiar with their behaviors and needs. I’ll treat your home with respect and care for your pets as if they were my own, providing plenty of attention, affection, and supervision.
“John was fantastic with Carl! He spent a lot of extra time with Carl, who just likes to sit outside. John sent photos and plenty of updates. We're looking forward to using John again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Saint Louis Park
Evelyn was great. We trusted her to enter our home and watch over Zues and Nova our two dogs while we were out of town and she did not dissapoint. Always gave updates and played with them. They both looked well taken care of We will be booking her in the future.
Ava did an awesome job taking care of our kitty Winnie while we were away! She was so attentive and provided detailed feedback each day about how things were going. She watched over our house and watered our flowers as well. She also drew an adorable picture of our girl. Would highly recommend!!

Susan did a wonderful job keeping an eye on my two cats while I was away for four days. She sent updates and photos, gave them their special treats every day, followed my instructions to a "T" and even offered to pick up more of their favorite food when I ran low. Lovely person, and great job. Will definitely hire her again.

Maddy is wonderful! She took detailed notes about Maisie’s care when we met and I could tell she cares deeply about the pets she works with. She also shared lots of pictures and helpful notes about her drop in visits. I’ve already booked with Maddy again and plan to continue working with her in the future.

I feel lucky to have found someone just blocks away to watch my two cats. I am new to the city and do not know my neighbors yet. Eleanor was easy to communicate with, came over ahead of time to meet the cats, and kept things under control in a heat wave. It was a huge peace of mind to know my pets were cared for while I was gone.

It is a relief when we know that Annalise can watch our cat when we are away. She’s very conscientious – she knows a lot about pets – in fact, she made a suggestion about my cat’s diet, which has really made an improvement – she does it in a nice humble way. Highly recommend.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
