“This was our first time with Chuck and all went well! He reached out where clarification was needed and responded and shared updates, house was clean and Churro seemed happy :) Will definitely keep him in mind for the future.”

“Margaret is fantastic! Very reliable, kept me informed and adapted to my Dog’s high maintenance schedule and needs. It was great to known Lola was loved and given lots of attention”

“John was a great pet sitter for my dog Collin. He accepted my last minute request and helped keep Collin calm while we were away. I would recommend John to others as well!”

“We had a wonderful experience Hailey! She stayed at her home while we were away and was incredibly kind, reliable, and communicative throughout the entire time. She sent the sweetest pictures of her snuggling with our dogs, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was clear from the pictures that our dogs felt comfortable and were well cared for, not just fed and let out, but actually loved. She went above and beyond by cleaning their ears, and even trimming their nails, which we really appreciated. She also kept our house clean. We felt completely at ease being away, knowing our dogs were safe and happy. She even left us an adorable note with a drawing of our dogs. I would absolutely use her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter.”

“Biiftuu was an excellent dog sitter. She clearly took good care of my little Aussie poo. She sent good pictures and left the house in excellent shape. I would hire her again.”

“Samantha does a fantastic job dog sitting. She goes above a beyond in caring for our dog and the house is in perfect shape when we get back. She gives daily updates and photos which we appreciate. We have a high energy, big personality dog and Samantha gives her lots of attention, walks, and play time. Highly recommend Samantha to anyone needing pet care in their home.”

“Gabe was communicative and kind and caring with estella, she had an unexpected upset tummy and they went above and beyond to take care of her. I hope to work with Gabe longterm.”

“Brooke house/dog sat for us for a 2 week vacation to Europe and I was so nervous to leave my baby for so long but Brooke made it so easy! She sent multiple updates with pictures EVERYday and I could tell she really enjoyed her time with Rosie. She even brought over some enrichment toys for her and she really enjoyed those. I travel for work and am sad that I can’t take Brooke with us everywhere we go! She was great and definitely recommend her!”

“Elizabeth was a wonderful pet and house sitter for us and would heartily recommend her to others. She was great with our elderly cat, who was happy and calm upon our return. She had clear, frequent, and professional communication that helped us enjoy our time away, knowing all was well at home.”

“Breanna did a meet and greet and truly listened to my reactive dog’s needs. She spent time not expecting her to be a normal dog that would immediately express affection. She listened to me and allowed my reactive, abused dog to come to her. After interviewing about 6 people that opted out (understandably) due to my dog’s reactivity - she showed up and bonded to the point of Keena cuddling and kissing with her! She also handles meds with my 17 year old kitty. Amazing! Great communication - made me being away feel safe for them.”

“Adrienne is an excellent dog sitter, I'm glad I hired her for this past weekend at my place. I was even gone a little past what I quoted for time frame and she was incredibly understanding!! Chance warmed up to her right away which is always a great sign - and I felt at ease when I was gone. Will definitely hire her again!”

“We needed a last minute sitter for our boys and Michael was the perfect match! He was quick to respond, it was my first time on Rover and he guided me through the process which I appreciate! Through the stay he communicated with us with updates here and there he even sent some pictures and videos. Our boys loved him ! We will definitely book with Micheal again.”

“Katy did a great job with my dog, who was dealing with an injury/health issues before I left for my trip. She was able to give medication and follow instructions to ensure my dog was comfortable and happy. She also kept my house in great shape during her stay. Thank you, Katy!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Saint Louis Park
Seth was a fantastic pet sitter. His communication was excellent and prompt, he sent great pics of the pets during our entire trip so I felt confident in their ongoing well-being, and he left the house in amazing shape. He even put up with the fact that our cats have an extremely annoying wake-everyone-up-at-5:00 AM habit ... his patience with our all of our pets' quirks and needs was exceptional. I will book him again!

Kayna was an amazing house sitter for my dog and made the whole process so stress free! She was attentive to my dog’s needs and sent pictures/updates throughout the weekend which really put my mind at ease while I was gone. She’s trustworthy, timely, and to top it all off she booked with me on such short notice when I was in a pinch, which I am SO grateful for. I would love to have her back again and 10/10 recommend her to anyone else!

This was our first time using Rover so we were a bit nervous but Katy was a great communicator and sent us tons of pics throughout the weekend, which we loved! Our dogs were well taken care of and Katy left our house nice and tidy. We’d definitely recommend her services!

Katy did a great job with my dog, who was dealing with an injury/health issues before I left for my trip. She was able to give medication and follow instructions to ensure my dog was comfortable and happy. She also kept my house in great shape during her stay. Thank you, Katy!

He was great! We had him housesit for several days and he was very communicative. Responsive the whole time and sent daily updates with pics. He was very relaxed and calm around our very anxious pup-he knew how to comfort and bond with her! He was flexible for the meet and greets and arrival/departure times. We’d definitely hire him again!

EJ took phenomenal care of our two dogs and our apartment. She stayed at our place for an entire week. When we returned, the dogs were happy and well taken care of, and our place was spotless. It was so nice to not have to worry about our dogs or our home while we were away, as EJ is extremely trustworthy, communicative, and an overall kind, good human. We are very grateful to have connected with EJ for dog and house sitting services. We will most definitely be reaching out to her in the future!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Saint Louis Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Saint Louis Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Saint Louis Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
