“Meghan was great! She sent us daily updates on our boys and even shoveled our driveway and brought the garbage up for us! We will recommend her to our friends and use her again! Thank you so much!”

“Avita took great care of my two cats and even spent extra time with them while I was gone on a longer trip. She made both the kitties and myself feel completely at ease. By the end of the trip, they were her new best friends—curling up on her chest and giving her kisses, which is a massive compliment from my cats! She also took special care of my plants. She is thoughtful, kind, highly responsive, and so easy to work with. I would recommend her to anyone!”

“Cassidy is the best! She stayed with our pets for 5 nights and all went so well. She walked Honey, gave our cat her meds and kept us updated as needed. We’re so grateful for her help!”

“Zach was very good at building a strong bond with my dog. He sent photos and took him on walks even when he was resistant (not a fan of the cold). He also took care of our bunny and cat. He was able to effectively handle more then one pet at a time and made sure all got equal time and attention.”

“We didn't know Julie beforehand except for doing a brief meet-and-greet, but she stayed at our house with our small dog for a long weekend when we were traveling, and did a great job. I always worry about my little pup who is very shy and attached to my wife and me, and has a hard time warming up to other people. She was shy and probably confused at first, since this was only the second time we left her for the weekend, but she clearly warmed up to Julie after the first day. Julie was great about promptly responding to our messages asking how things were going, and sending pictures and videos. She kept our house very clean and even took out the trash and washed our bedding before we got home. I would definitely hire her again!”

“Summer took great care of Toad through an unexpected illness and emergency vet visit. We were so thankful for her communication throughout and for her good care of our pup.”

“Our pups had the best reaction to meeting a new person ever. They felt her confidence and kindness. She always sent a pic and a note each day. Everything went great! She's the best.”

“This was our first time with Chuck and all went well! He reached out where clarification was needed and responded and shared updates, house was clean and Churro seemed happy :) Will definitely keep him in mind for the future.”

About: I've loved and taken care of animals since I was about 3 years old. I always asked to be the one to feed the dog before dinner! I have 2 cats, who are my world. I have a lot of experience with dogs, and have a chihuahua named RiotGrrl. I love dogs. My family has always had dogs, and i once lived in a home where I helped care for 6 dogs, a cat and a rat. I have 26 years of pet care and sitting experience. I'm able to do overnight sitting in your home, walks and baths! Meal times too, of course. I would love to make your pup or cat my new fuzzy best friend! I'm currently free full time for pet care! Im available from 6am-8am and again from 1pm to 12am all weekdays and weekends. I'm available for walking and pet sitting for holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas etc). I do same day booking for walks, but require one day notice for stay in sittings. I prefer to watch animals in their own home, so they are the comfiest they can be. My apartment doesnt allow me to board unfortunately. I will completely stick to your pets normal daily schedule while they are in my care.
“I cannot recommend Marykay enough as a pet sitter. From her initial lightning-fast response on Rover to the end of her stay with my dog, Scooch, she was simply amazing. Marykay is incredibly passionate about animals and possesses a calm and responsible demeanor that immediately put me at ease. She came over to meet Scooch a couple of weeks before her stay, and I knew immediately that I could trust her with my best buddy. Even when there was some miscommunication on my part, Marykay handled it with grace and flexibility. When I returned home, Scooch was happy to see me, but it was clear Marykay had taken care of him well. Knowing that Scooch was in such good hands made my time away stress-free.”

“Lilah is now our go to Rover for home stays when we are out of town! She checks in when she arrives, sends pictures daily and takes our dog for a walk. We will gladly have her stay again!”

“Val was the sweetest! She sent me pictures and updates of Zeke while I was away! She kept my apartment very clean and Zeke looked like he was so happy spending time with her! Zeke is leash reactive and Val was so honest with me about how their outside trips went which I really appreciated! Thank you for treating him like your own Val!”

“Tatiana was very communicative and took great care of Ichi. I know he must’ve enjoyed all the playtime. Tatiana also left me a framed picture of Ichi that she made while I was out of town.”

“Robert was communicative, sent updates/photos throughout the day, and took great care of Pukka. Really appreciated his flexibility and attentiveness. Pukka seemed very happy and comfortable with him. Thank you again!”

“Absolutely terrific service. She made little videos after each visit that showed her time with my kitties. It was such a joy. First language is no English, but that does not have any impact on the amazing service, so please consider Sumak! I know I will be requesting in the future.”

“Jenny was fantastic! Highly recommend her. She’s professional and calm and kind and everything our young hyper dog needed. Can’t thank her enough for making us feel so safe and worry free with her watching over the house and our boy.”

The median cost per night for house sitting in Richfield is $50
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Richfield
Tina was great with our two dogs. This was our first time leaving them with someone other than a family member. Tina made the entire experience easy with great communication and updates which gave us so much peace of mind. She took wonderful care of our dogs and home while we were away. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will absolutely be booking with her again in the future. Highly recommend!

We were in such a bind. A family trip we had looked forward to for years. A friend was supposed to watch our animals and our home for the week we were gone but ended up in the hospital. With our departure on the 4th of July, everyone we knew was out of town. We were nervous, having never used Rover for housesitting, and with our departure in less than two days. Anna was a dream. She was communicative, caring, and asked thoughtful questions. We received photos and updates every day we were gone, which provided such peace of mind. We returned home to happy animals and a tidy home - such a gift. We will be using Anna again in the future and highly recommend her. Thank you, Anna. You saved our family trip!

Tori took such good care of our dogs and also house while we were gone on an extended trip. She is a great communicator - reaching out when she needed to, and sending regular updates so that we knew all was well and could relax while we were away. House was nicely tidy and clean when we got back - we arrived late, so it was particularly appreciated to be able to hug happy dogs and go to sleep right away. We will definitely be booking again!

Seth was a fantastic pet sitter. His communication was excellent and prompt, he sent great pics of the pets during our entire trip so I felt confident in their ongoing well-being, and he left the house in amazing shape. He even put up with the fact that our cats have an extremely annoying wake-everyone-up-at-5:00 AM habit ... his patience with our all of our pets' quirks and needs was exceptional. I will book him again!

Gone for a week with a NEW PUPPY. Avita was a great sitter. Both dogs and cat were well cared for as evidenced by their complete nonchalance when we returned. Avita woke up early with the puppy everyday and helped us crate train. Our house was, I dare say, cleaner than when we took left. Highly recommend Avita as a true professional pet/house caretaker.

Dannie did such an amazing job with my sweet Pax while I was out of town! He’s a slow-moving older guy who needs some extra TLC and I can tell he was wonderfully cared for by Dannie and loved having a new friend to spend the weekend with! My house was so clean and in wonderful shape when I got home, I would absolutely recommend Dannie and can’t wait for Pax to see her on our next booking!

We just returned from a trip to Europe and McKenna took care of our toy poodle, Ellie, for 10 days. This was our first time using McKenna and it was amazing. She sent us updates with photos and videos daily and we came home to a very happy dog. She also took care of our house and it looked like we had never left. We will definitely be using McKenna again.

River has been our go-sitter for almost 3 years. Our fickle dog loves her and she did a great job watering our gardens while we were out. River house sat for 10 days, and the house was spotless when we returned. I can't speak her praises enough. She's the best. 15/10, every time.

My wife and I were very comfortable on our 10 days in France knowing Duffy was in good hands with Rachel--a dog-sitting veteran! She regularly sent photos & videos showing a happy dog which brought smiles. And except for a few incidents "involving mud"--in which Rachel had to bathe a reluctant little guy--things went smoothly. If you're looking for a reliable house-sitter, look no further than Rachel!
Calvin did a great job staying with our dog while we were gone over the weekend. He communicated well, followed the instructions for Rex’s routine and meds and overall was super easy to work with. We highly recommend Calvin and will use him again if we need a dog and house sitter.
Launa is an incredible pet sitter. She was very communicative and noticed that one of our cats was not feeling well and acted quickly to make sure that he was alright, and filled us in on any important details. It was a stressful situation, but knowing that our pets were in good hands made a huge difference.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Richfield on Rover is $53.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 3,494 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Richfield. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Richfield walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Richfield maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Richfield choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
