“Nina provided attentive care to our two dogs in our home. She provided daily check-ins that gave us the peace of mind to enjoy our 8 days away. She left our house clean and the dogs extremely happy!”

“Rachel is wonderful !!! She and my 1 yr old Goldador Remigus (Remi) instantly bonded at the meet and greet and became great best buddies and new friends. Would highly recommend and plan on more housesitting and/or visits when needed! Thanks so much Rachel !!! Julie and Remi”

“We just got back from a weeklong trip & Bri watched my 3 year old Basset Hound. I CAN NOT say enough wonderful things about her. Butters is a neurotic, difficult dog and she was MAGIC! Her communication was top notch. So many pictures and videos all week (which we loved). Our house was in better shape than when we left. Can not recommend enough!”

“Lia & Steven were wonderful!! Our dogs were so loved and well cared for while we were away. They provided many updates and pictures and were great at communicating! We will absolutely use them again and are so happy we found them!!”

“Eva did a great job taking care of our big dogs. She was able to adapt to both of their quirky personalities and took them on regular walks. It is so nice to know your dogs are well taken care of when you are gone!! It really makes being away so much more comfortable❤️”

About: I’ve taken care of my neighbors cats and dogs for 12 years whenever they needed! This includes walking, feeding, and other care for their pets. My family has a wire fox terrier that I helped train and take care of as needed. I’m available any day during the week in the mornings and evenings! I am also available during the weekends too to care for your pets! My house sits on an acre of land and has areas nearby to walk where I would walk my dog. In my client’s home, I will treat their pets like my own and treat them with care.
“Jaqueline was great! She was very responsive and reached out when she had questions. She left our house nice and clean when she left. We loved getting pictures of our dogs while we were away!”

“Caitlin was wonderful watching my dogs this past weekend. This is my first experience with Rover. She was highly responsive with communication. She came over to my house in advance to meet the dogs in order to ensure a smooth transition, especially given my dogs protective nature. She also walked me through the process and expectations, not having used Rover previously. My dogs took well to her and that was most important! I would absolutely book with her again.”

“Maizey is a tough dog (reactive, energetic, tough introductions to new people), and Maliya walked right in and made best friends with her. Maliya has a great way with pups and I felt good knowing my dog was in good hands. She was a great house guest as well, and was communicative with me setting up the initial visit, planning dates and the return. I would definitely book a sitting with Maliya again. Thank you so much!”

About: I have taken care of both my two dogs since I was 8 years old. I have trained both of my dogs, fed, and walked them daily. I have also house sat for two other dogs. One was less than 8 months old and the other was 2 years old. I house sat those two yorkies for a week. I am not working this summer so I will be able to take care of your pets 24/7. I am an animal lover and will take great care of your babies as if they were my own. I am flexible with strictness of schedules and particular pets as I know some animals have their quirks. I have one friendly beagle who is 9 years old. She is very laid back and typically spends most of her day voluntarily in her crate. She goes on daily walks but these can also be separated from your pet walks if needed.
“Leah did a great job watching Harley (soft coated wheaten terrier) while we went on a short 4 day trip. Kept us up to date on how he was doing and made sure he had his walks and breaks.”

About: I have taken care of dogs and other animals since I was eight years old, but I have been doing it professionally since I was fourteen and have been doing it through rover for eight years. I’ve owned and watched different animals throughout my life, including cats and dogs of all ages, ferrets, rabbits, fish, reptiles, and birds. I’m an avid lover of them and am currently studying animal behavior and wildlife biology. Treats, toys, and enrichment of every kind can be found here! I am able to administer oral medication and am pet CPR certified, always on my toes to help keep your family member happy and healthy. I am currently attending Inver Hills Community College and am there from 8am to 4pm daily, with the exception of Thursdays being from 12pm to 2:30pm. I am available for drop-in appointments later in the day, and am available for house sitting on weekends or for pets that are okay with being left alone for that long. I have a fully fenced in backyard and if the weather permits I keep the door to the yard open all day, allowing your dogs to come and go as they please. Any other animal is housed in my basement, where I keep the screen door shut but open the glass door so they can have fresh air. I have geckos myself and so any reptiles will be expertly cared for and kept away from any stressors by remaining in my room, keeping them safe and happy. If I house sit, I treat your home with the utmost respect. Directions are followed to detail, and pets are loved just as much as they would be at my own place.
“Penny was absolutely AMAZING and we are so very thankful for her help watching our babies (2 dachshunds). If you know anything about a dachshund, they are loving, needy and can be barky and particular about new friends. We had previously never left our dogs with anyone other than family, but needed to find a sitter while we were away for our wedding for a week with family. Penny blew it out of the park from the moment we did our meet and greet. She has such a warm and calm presence that our dogs instantly became comfortable around (which is no small feat when you’re meeting a dachshund!). She gave us twice daily updates while we were away with plenty of pictures that we were so happy to see. It was clear through her messages that our pups were getting plenty of love and engagement. We were quite worried about our finicky pups and Penny eased those worries and went above and beyond. We would 10/10 recommend Penny and look forward to using her pet watching services in the future 🙏💗 Thank you so much Penny!!! (From the dogs and us humans)”

“Iuliia was great! Our two dogs were completely comfortable within moments of meeting her. They were very well looked after and I was able to enjoy my weekend away knowing they were having a great time!”

“Pachee and her partner were an absolute dream to work with. I have a senior pup who can be a stubborn handful at times, and they blew any expectations (which were already high) out of the water. They took great notes on my senior pup’s med schedule/routine, made sure he got looooooots of love and attention and exercise, regularly sent pictures/videos, and took just as good care of the house. I could go on and on. The short version: The amount of love, kindness, respect, and care is unmatched. Definitely going to book with them again.”

“Meghan took great care of our pups, cat, and our chickens while we were away! We couldn’t ask anymore from a sitter; she gave them plenty of love, was very responsive, gave frequent updates, and went above and beyond! This was our first experience with Rover and we couldn’t be happier!”

We would absolutely book with Maliya again. She is very friendly and enthusiastic about providing top notch care to our fur baby. Our care instructions were followed closely, we received daily updates, and we returned to no issues at home. She is an absolute star and we hope to have her over again!

We just got back from a weeklong trip & Bri watched my 3 year old Basset Hound. I CAN NOT say enough wonderful things about her. Butters is a neurotic, difficult dog and she was MAGIC! Janet was absolutely amazing! She gave each of our dogs personalized care. She asked thoughtful questions and really listened. She took great care of our very old dog. She gave him his medicine and even got up with him at night with no complaints. One of the best dog sitters we've ever hired! Would absolutely have her watch our dogs again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Eagan walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Eagan maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Eagan choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Eagan. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
