“This was our second time having Alex stay with our pups and she was just as amazing! Our boys always look so happy with her and it’s so nice to know they are in good hands while we are away. I’ve been recommending her to everyone!”

“Eva did a great job taking care of our big dogs. She was able to adapt to both of their quirky personalities and took them on regular walks. It is so nice to know your dogs are well taken care of when you are gone!! It really makes being away so much more comfortable❤️”

“Zach was very good at building a strong bond with my dog. He sent photos and took him on walks even when he was resistant (not a fan of the cold). He also took care of our bunny and cat. He was able to effectively handle more then one pet at a time and made sure all got equal time and attention.”

“Iuliia was a great dog and housesitter! She kept us updated on her arrival to our place, provided updates and pictures throughout our trip, and let us know when she left at the end of her stay. Our dog was safe, sound, and happy. And our home was exactly the way we left it.”

“Our house was spotless and our kiddos were happy! Evy was great! She communicated with us the whole time, and kept us updated on our zoo at home! We have a pup with some bladder control issues and reactivity, and Evy handled her like a champ! Will for sure be using Evy again!”

“Meghan was great! She sent us daily updates on our boys and even shoveled our driveway and brought the garbage up for us! We will recommend her to our friends and use her again! Thank you so much!”

“Julia was so good with our dog while we were away. We had a Rover have to cancel on us and Julia was able to come stay at our house on short notice. She is attentive and loving with our dog which he absolutely loves! In true Mn fashion, it snowed while we were away so Julia even shoveled for us as well as provided excellent care for our dog!”

“We’ve used Brooke several times and can’t recommend her enough! We have 2 dogs and 2 cats and she is great with each of them. The animals love her and we love knowing that they are well cared for while we’re away.”

“Krystal is amazing! She recently house sat our 3 dogs for a week, not an easy undertaking. She was meticulous about following our instructions, communicating and sending pictures. She wasn't afraid to ask questions or get clarification. She is dependable and clean. When she comes to the door the dogs run to greet her. She has a pleasant demeanor you can't help but love! I can't say enough wonderful things about her! She is definitely our new "go to" sitter.”

“Kim was a wonderful dog sitter for our 2 year old Bernadoodle while we were away for a week over spring break. She stopped by the house before our trip to meet us and get acclimated to the dog and environment. She was a great communicator leading up to and throughout the trip and overall very reliable. She'll be at the top of our wish list for future dog sitting needs!”

“Felicia was great! She took our dog to the dog park and kept her busy. She sent lots of updates and photos. As a bonus she kept our apartment in great shape. She made our first time using Rover a great experience”

“I definitely will be using Catarina again for any future bookings I need for Penny! She was caring, patient, and understanding with Penny. My dog tends to have behaviors and Catarina did such an amazing job communicating with me and giving me helpful tips! Thank you so much for treating Penny like she was your own!”

“Kenna did an amazing job house sitting and caring for our senior beagle. She sent us nice photos throughout the trip and we knew he was comfortable and safe while we were away. She is very prompt in responding to messages and was always straightforward and clear with her communications. Our home was very well cared for, too, and it was a relief to come home to a clean and tidy house. We absolutely recommend her to others and will book with her again in the future!”

“Rachel was a great sitter for my puppy. She arrived on time and was very polite. She texted me a cute picture midway through the night and that warmed my heart! I definitely recommend her.”
“Summer was great with our pup Holly. She sent a lot of pictures and Holly is obviously happy and comfortable in each pic. She communicated regularly so our minds were at ease. Thanks much!”

“Fira was wonderful with our senior dog. I would hire her again in a heartbeat! We were out of the country and she was very good at proactive communication. Our dog had a hard time with us gone and she handled everything with care and patience. We know he was in great hands!! Cannot recommend her enough.”

“Sabrina is very responsive and kept me updated on her stay with Odin. He can be a little skittish with new people, but warmed up to Sabrina almost immediately. At the end of the weekend, Sabrina left the house cleaner than when she arrived and I came home to a happy puppy!”

My wife and I were very comfortable on our 10 days in France knowing Duffy was in good hands with Rachel--a dog-sitting veteran! She regularly sent photos & videos showing a happy dog which brought smiles. And except for a few incidents "involving mud"--in which Rachel had to bathe a reluctant little guy--things went smoothly. If you're looking for a reliable house-sitter, look no further than Rachel!
Josephine did a great job taking care of my two large dogs while I was away for 5 days. She sent pictures of the dogs everyday and made sure they felt right at home. The house was taken care of and she left it cleaner than it started. Would definitely book again

We were very pleased with Oliver and his care for our 2 dogs . Oliver was an excellent communicator and frequently sent updates and photos which was comforting as this was the first time we had booked with him. He walked the dogs on non rainy days. He left our home clean and let us know about a delivery. Highly recommend !

Madeline took great care of our pets and it was short notice. She was flexible knowing our travel plans could change with a big snow storm moving in. She even cleared most of our driveway and sidewalk to the back door! Amazing. She went above and beyond so we had no stress. Thank you!

James was incredibly caring and responsible. We have a female dog on hospice- she is dying from cancer. She was also in heat during his stay- and he did not mind either of those problems. He gave her meds and made sure she ate (even though she did not want to). He communicated well. I am sure he would have been a superb caregiver if her time to pass would had come while we were away. He stayed at our house, leaving everything clean and tidy. Recommend.

If you’re looking for a reliable sitter, look no further than Wyatt. He was fantastic with our two cats, highly responsive, and even shared many 'playtime' updates. Also, he left our house in better condition than when we left it. Thank you, Wyatt, for being so thoughtful and thorough!

We couldn’t be more grateful to have found Angie! When our first sitter suddenly stopped responding, we were in a panic about our upcoming trip. Angie stepped in at the last minute and completely saved the day. From our first conversation, she was professional, responsive, and reassuring. She took the time to understand our pets’ routines and needs, and we felt comfortable leaving them in her care right away. While we were gone, she sent us updates that put our minds at ease, and we came home to happy, well-cared-for pets and a tidy house. It’s rare to find someone so reliable and caring, especially on short notice. We will absolutely be using her services again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter!

Kate took great care of our 2 dogs, one of them is very anxious natured and also needs medicine for her health condition. She took great initiative from the first meet and greet to ask questions and handle them independently by interacting with them. She reviewed the instructions carefully and asked for options just in case. We were pleasantly surprised that she was able to give medication in a timely manner. Kate was also quick in responding. We would absolutely hire her again!!
Tessa took excellent care of Craig while we were away! She was friendly, responsive, and sent regular updates with photos. I could tell that Craig was relaxed and happy to be in his favorite spots around the house. She also left the house spotless when we returned. We will definitely book with Tessa the next time we need care for Craig!

Bianey is a great sitter. She helped us out last minute when our other sitter canceled last minute. She was wonderful to come and stay at our house with our dog. We came home to a picked up house and a happy dog!! I will definitely contact Bianey again when we need a house sitter/dog sitter.

First time using Bill's service. He knew how to come over for the first time and make friends with my dog Maya, who as a rescue is wary of strangers. He's affable and relaxed, and took care of my Shih Tsu mix Maya for almost two weeks and kept her happy so yes I'm happy.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bloomington walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bloomington maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bloomington choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
