“Nina was great. Easy to communicate with. Dogs were happy and well cared for. I'm extremely picky about my dogs and who cares for them and Nina did a great job. She stayed at my house while we attended a wedding I never once worried about the dogs. The cute pictures she sent were an added bonus.”

“Caitlin was communicative, kind and gentle with our Paco. She had our little guy cuddling all night long, and even reached out for a question he had in regard to his needs that I didn't address earlier. She was flexible in getting to the hotel exactly when I needed her there! We would book her again in a heartbeat! Thank you Caitlin!”

“It’s always nerve wracking having someone watch your dog who has trouble with strangers, but Rachel made it stress free! She was patient and kind, which helped our dog warm up to her quickly. We can’t wait to have Rachel come again!”

“Eva did a great job taking care of our big dogs. She was able to adapt to both of their quirky personalities and took them on regular walks. It is so nice to know your dogs are well taken care of when you are gone!! It really makes being away so much more comfortable❤️”

About: While I’m newer to Rover, I’m not new to dogs. I’ve cared for dogs for years through family and friends and I take pet care seriously—routine, safety, and attention to detail. I’m very reliable and will always keep you updated with photos and messages.” • Mon/Tue: Downtown (limited availability) • Wed–Fri: Available midday, before 8 AM, and after 3 PM • Weekends: Available and flexible for walks, drop-ins, and longer visits Your dog’s safety and comfort are my #1 priority. I’m very attentive, calm, and detail-oriented, and I treat every dog like they’re my own. I follow your instructions closely (feeding, potty routine, leash preferences, and any special needs), and I never take risks—leashes stay on during walks unless we’re in a fully secure area. My home is clean, quiet, and welcoming, and I make sure dogs have plenty of space to relax and feel comfortable. I’m also big on communication, so you’ll receive regular updates and photos so you always know how your pup is doing.
About: I have grown up with dogs in the household while I currently do not have any dogs due to my two cats and living in a rental that doesn’t allow any more than two pets. I love dog sitting for my friends and family when they go out of town! I have worked with small to large dogs, dogs with special medication need's, dogs with behavioral issues/needs and puppies. I currently work from home Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday anywhere between 8 AM to 7 PM depending on my work schedule it changes weekly but I’m more then flexible it fit in walks or drop in visits. My weekends normally consist of just relaxing at home so I thought why not look into helping people with their beloved pets in the evening and on Saturdays and Sundays. Unfortunately, with my two cats living in a townhome rental, I won’t be doing services in my home, however, if I dog sit in your home I will make sure that your pet gets all the correct meals needed, on time medication‘s if needed, and plenty of play times and cuddles with walks throughout the day or as requested!
About: Hi, I'm Bryanna! Animals have always been at the heart of my life. My journey into the pet world began through my day job, where I work with a company dedicated to supporting positive reinforcement (R+) pet professionals. Through that work, I've learned from some of the best trainers and behavior consultants in the industry, and it's shaped how I care for every animal I meet. My philosophy is simple: I will never use force, fear, intimidation, or pain. Every animal deserves to be treated with patience, compassion, and respect. I believe trust is something we earn—not demand. My greatest teacher was my late dog, Alfie. He battled a serious autoimmune disease (ITP), and caring for him taught me how to confidently administer medications, recognize subtle changes in health and behavior, and stay calm through medical challenges. More than anything, it gave me a deep appreciation for the trust it takes to leave a beloved companion in someone else's care. I've also shared my life with reactive dogs, so I understand that every animal has different comfort levels, communication styles, and needs. Whether your companion is outgoing, shy, anxious, elderly, energetic, or requires a little extra patience, I'm happy to meet them exactly where they are—without judgment or unrealistic expectations. At home, I'm now happily ruled by cats, who remind me every day that every animal is an individual with their own personality, preferences, and boundaries. **And if you're a fellow multi-pet parent, I get it! Those "just one more pet" fees can add up quickly. That's why I offer a very low rate for additional pets—because I know your whole crew deserves great care without the price tag piling up for every extra set of paws.** When you trust me with your companion, my goal is simple: to provide the same thoughtful, compassionate care I'd want for my own. I'll care for them as the unique individuals they are, so you can enjoy peace of mind while you're away. I work full-time from home Thursday - Monday, so my pet care schedule is built around providing dependable visits before and after work, with evenings (after 4:00 PM) being my most flexible availability. Many weekdays also offer some flexibility for midday visits when planned in advance. My weekends fall on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, which means I'm often available for additional visits, longer drop-ins, meet-and-greets, or last-minute requests on those days. I'm committed to being reliable, communicative, and upfront about my availability. If your pet has a specific routine or timing needs, just let me know—I'll always do my best to accommodate them and will be honest if I'm not the right fit. My goal is to provide care that's consistent, dependable, and tailored to your pet's needs. When I'm caring for your pet in your home, my goal is to keep their routine feeling as normal as possible. I'll follow your care instructions closely—from meals and medications to playtime, enrichment, litter box care, or simply spending quiet time together if that's what your companion prefers. I believe every pet is an individual, so I let them set the pace. Whether they're outgoing and ready to play or prefer to observe me from across the room for a while, I'll respect their boundaries and earn their trust through patience and positive interactions. You'll receive regular updates with photos and notes so you always know how your pet is doing. If I notice anything out of the ordinary, I'll let you know right away. My goal is for you to enjoy your time away knowing your pet is safe, comfortable, and cared for as if they were my own. I'll also treat your home with the same respect I would expect for mine—keeping things clean, secure, and exactly as you left them.
“Michelle took excellent care of my high-maintenance elderly baby for 3 nights. She followed his routines (directions), treat and feeding habits, his need to go potty a LOT, and kept him calm and happy. She also kept me updated while I was away and sent pictures. I didn't worry while I was gone, and my baby seemed so relaxed when I got home. She also kept my house clean, which I appreciate!! I would highly recommend Michelle!!”

“Danielle did a great job caring for my two dogs! I received updates and she had good communication before and during the time I was out of town. Very flexible and accommodating. I will definitely be hiring her again in the future.”

“Our experience with Kaelyn was great! It had been a while since we have left the dogs with a sitter and she quickly put our mind at ease. We received plenty of pupdates letting us know things were going well and carefully followed all the care instructions. We could tell they were well taken care of while we were away. We would definitely book with Kaelyn again.”

“Fira hung with the pups while we were gone for the day. It was obvious they were happy. Especially since she sent a photo with one of them on her lap. We are grateful to have a wonderful dog sitter!! Highly recommend her!!”

“Sarah was absolutely amazing with our cat. She provided daily updates and was so sweet with him. It was amazing to know that while we were gone, he was in such good hands. 10/10 recommend :)”

“Ellie did a great job taking care of our menagerie while we were out of town. Our dogs, Keba and Elvis, were excited to see her and they did very well with her. Our difficult cat, Jasper, also sat on her lap on the couch which is amazing! We highly recommend Ellie for taking care of your furbabies. They will be happy, relaxed, and well taken care of.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Apple Valley
Nina did a wonderful job caring for our two elderly pups. She sent updates and photos every day. She and her husband also came over a few weeks before our scheduled time away to introduce themselves and meet our dogs. She was very professional and did a great job. We would highly recommend her to others.

Our experience with Kaelyn was great! It had been a while since we have left the dogs with a sitter and she quickly put our mind at ease. We received plenty of pupdates letting us know things were going well and carefully followed all the care instructions. We could tell they were well taken care of while we were away. We would definitely book with Kaelyn again.

We had a wonderful experience with Aurora! She was reliable and caring. Our pets were happy and well cared for, and we really appreciated the regular updates. We came home to everything in great shape and would happily have her sit for us again. Highly recommend!

Michelle was a great host for Chloe. She gave her the eye drops, went for walks and spent alot of cuddle time with her. The house was spotless when we got home, she watered plants and brought in mail and packages. Chloe loved her, we could tell by the multiple pictures she sent. She will be the first one we call next time.

Carter was able to help out last minute when plans changed. He communicated well, fit in a meet and greet before I left, and I came home to a happy and healthy dog after my weekend away. Carter was respectful of my home, and even helped me out and watered some plants while I was gone which I appreicated.

Noah was great. When we arrived home the dogs were both tired! We track all of their walks with the GPS collar and Noah took them out everyday just as instructed. He also sent photos and updates every day and made sure to ask plenty or questions if he had any. The house was kept super clean and perfect to come back to.

Outstanding! Renee was thorough and loved on and spoiled our pups. They loved her. She sent pictures throughout our absence and this enabled us to truly relax knowing they were being so well cared for and loved on. We were in constant contact and that gave us peace of mind. We were so lucky to have found her!

Errin is the BEST! We are so glad we found her! She is incredibly kind, respectful, and dependable. Our little Lucy absolutely adores her and is always excited when Errin comes over. In fact, Lucy is genuinely sad to see her leave. One thing that really stands out is that Errin always leaves our house in even better condition than when she arrived. She goes above and beyond in every way. We only wish we had more reasons to have Errin come over because she is such a wonderful person. We feel very fortunate to have found her and couldn't recommend her more highly.

Sam took great care of our pups while we were out of town for five days! He sent lots of great pictures and updates to help us feel comfortable. He found ways to get our dogs exercise while also keeping them safe with the extremely hot weather. He was very reliable and we would definitely use him in the future!

We just had Ally stay for 3 nights with our 2 cats. She is a great communicator, providing updates and photos frequently. We had complete peace of mind knowing they were being well cared for. We came home to calm kitties and a tidy house. Ally is a wonderful sitter!

Savannah was amazing! She sent pictures multiple times a day, walked the dogs, played with them, communicated regularly with me and it was great to have her hang out with Thor and Loki for a couple days. I would definitely recommend Savannah to everyone looking for someone to watch their pups. I will be reaching out for certain!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Apple Valley walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Apple Valley maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Apple Valley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
