“Ed really goes the extra mile, not only for the pets for whom he is caring, but also with keeping their “parents” entertained with stories, puzzles, and humor. We look forward to each time he sits for us!”

About: Hi! My name is Phouthavone, but I go by Kat! 🐾 I’ve been around and cared for dogs my entire life. I currently have a 7-year-old rescue dog who’s been part of my family for five years, as well as a 2-year-old cat—so I’m very familiar with caring for both dogs and cats and all their different personalities! Both of my fur babies have sensitive stomachs, so I understand how important it is to follow feeding instructions, dietary restrictions, and routines carefully. I’ll make sure your pets are happy, healthy, and well-fed while they’re in my care. I also have previous experience as a human caregiver, which has taught me a lot of skills that transfer naturally into pet care—patience, attentiveness, responsibility, following routines, and making sure the person (or pet!) in my care is comfortable and safe. Most importantly, I genuinely love animals and will treat your fur babies like they’re my own. Whether they want playtime, walks, company, or just lots and lots of cuddles, I’m happy to give them all the attention they need. 🐶🐱💕 I can’t wait to meet you and your fur babies! I currently work part-time, so my schedule gives me plenty of flexibility to care for your fur babies! I’m available throughout the week and can work around different feeding, walking, and potty schedules. I’m also happy to spend extra time playing with them or just keeping them company and giving them lots of cuddles. I know every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs, so I’ll always follow any instructions you leave for me. I’m very attentive when it comes to feeding schedules, dietary restrictions, medications, walks, and anything else your pet may need. I also have a dog and cat of my own, so I know how nerve-racking it can be trusting someone else with your babies! I’ll treat them like I would want someone to treat mine and keep you updated while you’re away.
“Anna continues to be the best pet sitter you could ask for. She's punctual, kind, follows complex directions well. My girls absolutely adore her, and were so excited to have Anna visit at our new apartment! If you need a worry free stay out of town, Annas got you covered. She even does odd tasks like cleam my cats goopy crusty eyes when I can't be there to do so.”

“It was a pleasure to have Patricia take care of my cat again. She was up for whatever my cat was in the mood for whether it was playtime, pets, or treats. Patricia followed all instructions and went above and beyond for my cat. I highly recommend her and plan on rebooking in the future.”

“Josephine was amazing! My pup is very shy and sometimes stand offish to new people but he warmed right up to Josephine. We had a very late request for in-home visits and Josephine was able to accommodate for us and was very timely with her responses. She provided updates at every check in and even took our pup for a short walk on most visits! Can’t thank you enough Josephine, we will be requesting your help again in the future!!”
“Lauren was great to work with and very communicative! We felt comfortable with her taking care of our cat, Beau, and will definitely book again if we need help in the future. We loved all the pictures we received too!”

“I've hired Annika multiple times to take care of my cat Nala and she always has done a great job. In addition to taking care of Nala she has consistently helped with other house-sitting tasks. I look forward to working with her in the future!”

“Rob is absolutely FANTASTIC and we would highly recommend him to anyone in need of a quality and dependable dog sitter. He is an awesome communicator and he genuinely cares -- he takes thorough notes, he stays in tune with each pup's individual needs, he is reliable, punctual and overall just wonderful at his job. We HIGHLY recommend Rob!”

“Clara did a fantastic job of taking care of my two cats, when I returned they were the same happy cats as when I left. She was great about communicating about what was going on with the cats and I got to see pictures of them frequently, which assured me that they were in good hands. I highly recommend her services.”

About: I have been raising my two Labradors since they were puppies and have also cared for older/elderly dogs of my friends and family. I have lots of energy so can handle energetic dogs. My daytime job is flexible and I often have time in between tasks so that I can be available during the workday, evenings, and weekends! One of my two Labradors lives with me (the other lives with my ex-partner, but he visits from time to time). While we no longer kennel/crate, I do have a crate set up in my living room, if needed. I don't have a fenced in yard, but love taking the dogs to dog parks to run, play, etc.
“Ben was amazing!! It was our first time leaving our sweet cat under the care of a sitter, and he was so kind and attentive. He sent great updates and built trust with our cat, who can be quite shy. We highly, highly, highly recommend Ben!”

“Morgan is the absolute best! The kindest sitter that I trust completely to take care of my cat. Morgan is such a fantastic communicator and showers pets with love and care. Cannot recommend highly enough!!!”

“Dana was available last minute for a weekend of drop-ins. She was very attentive and on time, dogs were so happy and well cared for! She even tried to dry them up after some rain (which is quick the feat). Very thankful for her willingness to care for our girls!”

About: Dogs have been my whole world since I was four years old, and I've been actively caring for them since I was around ten. Now at 25, with over 15 years of hands-on experience, I know what it means to love a pet like family, not just as a pet, but as a real member of your life. I'm a proud fur-parent to Boogie, a rescue pup I adopted at four months old. He's two now, and watching him grow has only deepened how much I care about the life every dog deserves. It's something I think about a lot: our pets are experiencing everything for the very first time, and that's worth honoring. I also volunteer as a temporary foster, which means I'm comfortable meeting animals exactly where they are, whether that's a nervous newcomer or a playful goofball who wants all the attention. I take every walk and drop-in seriously, because I know a mid-day break and a kind, familiar face can make a pet's whole day. My schedule is more flexible than it might look on paper. I work full-time in the office four days a week, typically wrapping up between 3:30 and 4, and I'm always happy to stop by before work, after work, or in between my jobs. I also work part-time some weekday evenings and weekends, but my hours shift week to week, so I'd rather just talk through what works for you and go from there. If you need someone reliable who's willing to figure it out, I'm your person. When you invite me into your home, I treat it with the same care and respect I'd want for my own. I'm tidy, mindful of your space, and will always leave things exactly as I found them. Your pet's routine matters too. I'll follow whatever instructions you leave, from feeding schedules to favorite toys to the walks they're used to. For walks, I keep a close eye on leash behavior and surroundings, and I'll never push a pet past their comfort zone. I know some dogs need a slow warm-up and others are ready to go the second the leash comes out, and I'm happy to meet them wherever they are that day. You can also expect regular updates while I'm with your pet. I'm happy to send a photo, a quick message, whatever gives you peace of mind while you're away. I know handing over a key and trusting someone with your animal is a big deal, and I don't take that lightly.
“Carla did a great job looking after my cat. She was extremely responsive to questions and directions and sent lots of pictures, so I knew he was well taken care of. I hadn't used Rover before and was a bit nervous, she did a great job putting me at ease and I'll definitely be checking her availability if I need a pet sitter in the future.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Bloomington
Josephine is so reliable, responsive and a great communicator. She cares about the animals and does a stellar job with all the chores every time. Because my husband’s travel schedule is often last minute, I can’t plan ahead on my needs for cat and bird care, so I appreciate so much how she jumps into action at the last minute to take on my needy household!!

Emma Rose went above and beyond for our pets! Right from the get go, I was impressed with her thoughtful communication, attention to detail, and genuine desire to make our cats as comfortable as possible while we were away. She is clearly passionate about providing the best care possible and loves ALL animals. We highly recommend her services!!!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bloomington. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
