“Our dog is a on the independent/skittish side and doesn’t love a lot of people. Anna knew just how to act and gave her space while still giving her the attention and care our pup needed while we were out of town. A true dog whisperer.”

“Heidi did such a wonderful job with our cats and our dog, that I’m 99% sure the puppy was disappointed when I came home. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire her again (and look forward to doing so soon!)”

“This was our first time using Rover and Ben meet with us beforehand to talk about the care for Josie. He was excellent at communicating with us each day and sending us photos. He did all the tasks we asked of him and Josie seemed to really like him. He made this entire experience easy and we would book him again.”

“Highly recommend! It was obvious from the fabulous photos that Gabriella made my cat feel extremely comfortable and cared for. Her in-depth reports gave me immense peace of mind while I was out of town. Thank you so much!”

“Clara took excellent care of my kitties while I was away! Great communication and response time. I would recommend Clara for any of your pet sitting needs!”

“Carla was very responsive, from when I first reached out through all of her drop ins. Easy to work with, gave helpful updates, gave Callie love while we were away. Thanks!!”

“Inge was great to work with especially since we needed someone last minute. She was punctual, quick to respond to our messages, and very friendly. We will definitely use her again.”
“Lauren was great to work with and very communicative! We felt comfortable with her taking care of our cat, Beau, and will definitely book again if we need help in the future. We loved all the pictures we received too!”

“Josie meets every expectation we could have for our first time "Drop-in" Daily caretaker of our two big boy cats, Jondular and Tonga. This is the first time we have used Rover and we are thrilled with the outcome. Before we always took our cats in carriers to places where they sat in cages and they were very unhappy so we were unhappy too. When we discovered Rover we were so relieved. Josie has had plenty of experience with cats and was top notch all the way! Thank you Josie and we will be asking you back next time which may be soon.”

About: Animal lover here, excited to care for your pup! I have experience with many breeds and can't wait to share adventures on our time together! I work 8-5 mainly with a shorter workday Friday. I have weekends off and I am looking to spend some time keeping your animals company. Typically don’t have a long lunch, but can potentially be flexible if needed. Grew up with dogs around me and have plenty experience watching peoples pets. Love following list of needs so they feel most comfortable when they aren’t with their parents!
About: I have been taking care of friends and families pets for over 5 years, always being the first that they call! As much as I wished, my family never had any dogs so I have plenty of love to give to others! I am in my off season for my job as an artists/athlete, working part time as a dance teacher and have plenty of time to spend with your pets! I live in an apartment complex that has easy access to our backyard full of grassy area. I live in a residential area with plenty of sidewalks and trails to walk.
“Joanna did a great job checking in on my kitty Peaches. She reliably showed up as promised, communicated well, shared pictures and my cat loved her. She was good at telling with Peaches was in the mood to play or in the mood to cuddle and gave her all the love she craved. I will definitely have Joanna look in on Peaches again in the future. Highly recommend.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Bloomington
I can’t say enough good things about Kayla. I have 4 cats and she makes sure to shower them each with attention. She is the most thorough, responsible, responsive, and sweet cat-sitter I’ve ever worked with. She handled giving my cat her medication like a pro. She is great about seeing to their litter. But what I love most about Kayla cat-sitting is her updates and photos she sends me (so thoughtful!)! I know my cats are safe and well taken care of with Kayla. She’s just the best!

Rachel is absolutely amazing! She took such good care of my cat Jack. This was my first time leaving him and I was nervous but her communication and genuine love and care to make sure he had a great experience put my mind at such ease. She was even kind enough to do a meet and great before I left him and Jack warmed up to her instantly and I knew he was in great hands! She not only made sure he was fed and taken care of but that he got all the pets and attention his little heart wanted. She sent pictures so I could see how great he was doing and even swept up the litter he tracks around! She went above and beyond for my boy and put this anxious cat mom’s heart and mind at ease. I can’t say enough great things! 10/10 recommend for any one looking for top notch care for your fur babies!

Emma Rose went above and beyond for our pets! Right from the get go, I was impressed with her thoughtful communication, attention to detail, and genuine desire to make our cats as comfortable as possible while we were away. She is clearly passionate about providing the best care possible and loves ALL animals. We highly recommend her services!!!

Rachel did an AMAZING job taking care of our kitties while we were gone on a 2 week trip! My cats are normally very shy, but they very quickly warmed up to Rachel. She was also very communicative and it put our minds at ease knowing our kitties were taken care of so well while we were gone. I would recommend her to anyone ☺️

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bloomington. On Rover:

- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
