“Sophie is so great with our scaredy-cats and manages to coax them out of hiding with some treats! They do very well with her, it's a great comfort when we're traveling to know they are in such good hands.”

“Molly is amazing! We've used her multiple times and continue to be so happy to have her watch our cat. She really takes her time on each drop in visit, sending lots of pictures and updates. We can't recommend her enough!”

“Larissa is caring and gentle with my dogs. She has exceptional communication. She handled a 8 week puppy and a 2 year old high energy GSD all within one visit and did an amazing job! I have great amount of trust in her, 10/10 recommend!”

“Sonia was AMAZING! Our cats are usually a little scared of new people but after the second visit, they both came out to get pets from her. Sonia was very communicative, kind, and really loves animals. I recommend her to any cat owners, and I will definitely use her services again. 10/10”

About: Someone who grew up with at least two rescue dogs in the house at all time, a few cats and horses, I've taken care of animals of all sizes, breeds, personalities, ages, and needs throughout my lifetime. I've even seen kittens born! I raised and loved the one I chose to mine, finally saying goodbye when she reached the ripe age of 21. Whether it is puppies / kittens, mid-life, or elderly I have experienced all the life stages of our fur babies. I've also dealt with the not so fun parts of being a fur baby parent. From cleaning up hairballs or puke because the dog decided to eat grass, cleaning a dog who decided it was a good idea to go for a swim in the pond, or literally breaking up cat fights... I've been there. Because I teach, and right now school is out, I would be home during the majority of the day during the summer for pet sitting. Come the school year, I would be away between school hours. Because right now I'm working part-time I have plenty of extra time to fit walking your fur baby into my schedule! I have a large porch which leads down to a fenced-in yard. My fur baby personally loves sunning himself on the porch or going down to the yard and just exploring. The apartment itself is a renovated music studio so it is wide, spacious, and beautifully designed. Your fur baby would have his own feeding area and you are welcome to bring any toys or other comfort items. I've had to board my cat before so I know how important the small things are.
“Elizabeth always goes above and beyond to care for our dogs. You can tell this is her priority above all else, and always ensures they are safe and taken care of. 10/5 would recommend”

“Dani loves our cats! It helps because I miss them when we go ❤️ It was my first major booking with someone outside of family, and I'm so glad I did it. Hope to see you again, Dani!”

About: I've had pets my whole life, including dogs, cats, and small animals. I am experienced in their care and am open to all personalities. I am committed to doing everything I can to ensure they are happy and comfortable. I also have experience with senior pets and puppies. I'm currently a student on summer break, so I have plenty of time to care for your beloved fuzzy friends. I am available all week days and on weekends. I am willing to care for your pets in any way they need. I am committed to doing everything I can to ensure they are happy and comfortable.
“Sarah took care of our cats, and I’ve came back to a clean fresh litter. She even clean some of the cats poop outside of the litter and feed/refill water. Definitely recommend her services. Thank you!”

“Taylor took amazing care of Watson when she dropped-in and walked him while we were away. We booked her for three sessions, and each time she was very communicative and sent lots of photos.”

About: Growing up with 2 dogs, I know the amount of pure joy and giggles all doggies bring to families! I grew up with 2 little Dachshund (wiener) Dogs named Frankie and Lily! They were both so smart and oddly enough thought they could fly! They knew every night at exactly 9pm it was officially SNACK time! As they both aged, I spent much time carrying them up/down stairs, walking them and bringing them to appts such as Vet, Chiro and other therapies. There is no greater experience than coming home to your best friend wagging their tail. My main job is supporting the deaf/hard of hearing in the twin cities. My work experience allows me to get a sense of my surroundings quickly. I have experience house sitting, walking dogs and also taking dogs to vet/grooming appointments. Now I have 2 fur babies Highlander cats, Gracie and Fynn. ❤️ can’t believe I lived so long without my kitty cats!!

“Juli was a perfect dog sitter. Mac took to her right away. She took him for walks and took very good care of him and he was healthy and happy when we got home. I would definitely hire her again. Thanks much!”

About: Worked for four years at a dog boarding and daycare facility over summer and winter breaks from college as a dog handler and eventually as a supervisor. Per employment requirements, I am now certified in dog body language and dog group management! I also have a high-energy breed of my own at home who is still in her puppy phase. At school I am a double major in environmental science and human-animal studies and have a strong passion for working with animals. I currently have open availability for this summer and fall and would love to take care of your pet(s)! I may be starting a part-time position in the future but for now I’m available most days! I am happy to accommodate and follow whatever routine your dog/cat is used to! I have worked with all different kinds of dog breeds to the working breed, high-energy dogs to sleepy couch potatoes. Whatever your pet needs I will make do!
“We have entrusted the health and happiness of our two senior cats to Phoebe several times now. She always communicates so well, takes great care of the boys (one who requires insulin injections 2x daily), and makes it possible for us to leave home without worry. We still miss our pets, but know with Phoebe’s care they will be AOK!”

“Natalie did great with my special-needs cat. I was short on time due to a different pet sitter canceling last-minute, and Natalie handled all of my requests perfectly. Will definitely book again.”

About: With over 8 years of experience in animal care, I’ve had the pleasure of working with a wide variety of pets—including dogs, cats, rats, and even lizards! I’m confident handling pets of all ages, from playful puppies to senior companions who need a bit of extra TLC. I also have experience administering medications like pills, topical creams, and pet inhalers. I’m always happy to learn your pet’s unique routine and needs so they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. I’m a student at the University of Minnesota and love spending my free time caring for animals. While my weekday schedule is limited due to classes and work, I’m fully available on Fridays and weekends and would be happy to dedicate that time to pet care. I look forward to meeting new pets and giving them the attention they deserve! Since I care for pets in their own homes, I always try to make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you're away. I stick to their usual routine—whether that means walks, meals, playtime, or meds—whatever they need to feel at ease. I know how important it is to have someone you trust in your home, so I’m always respectful of your space and do my best to leave things just as I found them (or better!). I’ll also send plenty of photo updates so you can see how your pet is doing and feel reassured while you're away. I treat every pet like they’re my own and try to make the time you're gone as stress-free as possible for both of you.
“Cindy is the best. She was super responsive and took such detailed notes with several pictures each visit. We truly felt our dog was in the best hands. We knew Cindy was someone special when our shy dog immediately LOVED her at our meet and greet. I cannot recommend Cindy enough!”

“I’m a repeat customer because Emily is so great! Our cats have a complicated feeding setup but Emily always nails it and shows such care and kindness to our fur babies. Thanks Emily!”

Cindy was perfect. She seems to truly care about dogs, especially ours. It was a comfort to know she could drop in twice to care for our Dear Floyd on our daughter’s wedding day. She followed all instructions and kept us updated. It was a comfort and a relief.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
