“Rylan did a great job with two cats! One is shy and one is not, and Rylan took the time to make sure the shy one was OK. Cleaned box, fed as directed and also brought in mail and packages. Daily updates, photos, and notes. Highly recommend!”

About: I've had lots of experience with a wide variety of dogs from family pets to working with Wag! I have a 8 month old German Shepard/Lab, Opal, so I am comfortable with puppies and high energy breeds. I also have experience caring for senior animals. I am currently a stay-at-home mom. I am mostly available for weekend care but can do walks & check ins during the week if I bring my youngest with me. I am open to boarding and other care during the weekends. I have a fenced in yard for lots of fetch & play time. We love walks & hiking so lots of opportunities for exercise, fun & bonding with the dogs. I also have experience with crating if that is necessary.
“Our first time using Rover, & Dani was great! Our new rescue kitty Ms Poppy is skittish and nervous with new situations & people, and Dani said it went well. Appreciated getting updates and photos. THANK YOU!”

“Jessica took great care of our cats while we were away. She sent updates and photos with each visit which was greatly appreciated. We were able to relax knowing that our babies were being taken care of. Thank you Jessica!”

About: I've owned a dog and/or a cat since I left college and once had 3 dogs, 3 cats and 2 children under age 6 in the same house! I worked for a pet sitting business in Virginia for two years and love to observe animals and get to know to know them on their terms. Experience matters with pets and I have that, combined with great communication and common sense. I'm the person you want watching your furry friends when you can't be there. I'm also a photography lover and I'm happy to work to get some good shots of your animals while taking care of them. I'm a semi-retired journalist who often works remotely, so I have plenty of time to pet sit. With my kids in college, my nest is empty except for my Pueto Rican chihuahua mix, Nina. We walk two or three times a day when the weather and my schedule permits. I'll care for your pets as if they were mine. I've owned multiple cats and dogs, from 8 pounds up to 90. If you have the patience and experience, almost every animal will give you clues on how they want to be treated.
“Anna is terrific! Super responsive to me, but most importantly so loving and caring for my puppy. She knows a lot about animals and I know Gus is in such great hands with her. She sends multiple pictures during her check ins, and Gus loves her!”

About: I have experience providing pet sitting services for families outside of Rover, caring for both cats and dogs in their homes. My responsibilities have included feeding, providing fresh water, administering medications when needed, cleaning litter boxes, taking dogs on walks, giving plenty of playtime and attention, and maintaining each pet's normal routine to help them feel comfortable while their owners are away. I understand that every pet has a unique personality and needs, so I take the time to build trust with each animal and provide patient, compassionate care. I also keep owners updated with regular photos and messages so they can have peace of mind knowing their pets are happy, safe, and well cared for. I'm currently on summer break between high school and college, so I have a very flexible schedule and plenty of free time to care for your pets. I can provide lots of attention, playtime, walks, and companionship throughout the day. I'm committed to making sure your pets stick to their normal routine and feel comfortable while you're away. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. When caring for pets in a client's home, I make sure they have fresh food and water, plenty of attention, exercise, and affection while following all care instructions exactly as requested. I respect your home, keep a close eye on your pet's well-being, and always make sure they are safe, happy, and well cared for until you return.
“Lacie went above and beyond caring for our dog while we were away! She is a fantastic communicator which really put our minds at ease while we were out of town. We really appreciate her kindness and generosity for our dog, and we could tell he was incredibly well cared for while we were gone. We could not recommend her service enough! Thank you!!”
“Sonia was AMAZING! Our cats are usually a little scared of new people but after the second visit, they both came out to get pets from her. Sonia was very communicative, kind, and really loves animals. I recommend her to any cat owners, and I will definitely use her services again. 10/10”

“I had a wonderful experience with Kiana! She took excellent care of my cats and made sure they were happy, comfortable, and well looked after while I was away. I received regular updates and photos, which gave me great peace of mind. It was clear they genuinely cared about my pets and paid attention to their individual needs. I came home to happy, relaxed cats and everything was clean and in great shape. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and trustworthy pet sitter. Thank you for taking such great care of my furry family!”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
