“Katherine was always on time and professional, she sent me regular updates on the dogs and left the house in perfect order, even cleaned up, did some vacuuming and poop patrolled so that I came home with nothing to left to do except hug the dogs!”

“Anna was amazing! She communicated with me the whole time, knowing I was worried about my older dog. I told her she did not need to take the dogs for a walk, yet she did. She stayed at our house while we were on vacation, but left everything perfectly intact. I will definitely be hiring her again.”

“Penny was great. She really listened during our meet and greet. The dogs (1 senior cocker spaniel and 1 middle aged active beagle) really seemed to love her. We came home to happy dogs and a well cared for house.”

About: I have 2 dogs and 3 cats of my own. One of my pups is a rambunctious puppy and the other is getting up into his senior years. My puppy is self taught and already knows over 10 tricks, he’s still young so hopefully we can squeeze a few more in. My senior pup I got later on in his life, I taught him a few tricks but he can get stubborn in his years😅 all of my cats are healthy, except for the oldest who only has 3 teeth(she was like this when I adopted her) and those 3 teeth are going strong! No matter how much I pushed wet food she always went for her sisters dry food that is left out. On of my cats in the past was a wobbly kitty so I also have experience with special needs. All of my pets were adopted from AHS! A little more about me: I am a full time paraprofessional at a level 4 year round autism school, my hours there are 8am-3:30pm. I recently transitioned to schools this past year and have loved it. Then I work Saturdays at a group home for disabled adults, my hours there are 8am-12pm one week and 8am-8pm the other. I’ve been with this company for almost 6 years and have played multiple roles from a DSP-Program manager. I can assure you I know how to handle things in tense situations! These hours still give me plenty of time to play with your fur babies, I know the one Saturday can get long but I will make sure they get a good walk and fed before leaving and returning home! (If the stay is in my home though, I have other people that can let them out for a quick potty breaks if you allow.) First thing I do is feed my cats and dogs when I get up, they don’t let me forget. I’m constantly cleaning up all their toys and clean their litterbox twice weekly. My dogs get a quick walk in the morning and we always finish the night with some training and a longer walk before bed. If I am in your home I will follow your guidelines that you give, whether that be potty breaks/ meal times/ exercise/ meds, whatever you need! In my home I will still follow your schedule but I have a chain for them to go outside quickly, a nice field next to my house(not completely fenced) that we can run around in or if you are okay with me taking them in my car there’s a few trails and a fenced park less than 2 miles from me!
“It was so nice to not have to worry about our cats when we were gone - Gretchen had it all under control, even with one of them needing medication. And the house looked even better than when we left it!”

“Emma did an AWESOME job! She kept us updated with pictures and our cat who never trusts anyone was totally content and happy with Emma and hung out with her all weekend. One of our dogs has to take medication and Emma was very professional and had all the medical stuff under control. Emma did a fantastic job and we will absolutely ask her to watch our two dogs and cat again!”

“Aaron is a very thoughtful and caring dog and house sitter who has cared for my pet on multiple occasions. My dog is always happy to see her! Aaron makes sure she is well loved during my absence. The house is always clean and Aaron is conscientious about Performing the chores that need to get done while we’re away. I can’t recommend Erin highly enough.”

“Olivia did a wonderful job with Tessa and also communicated well with us while we were away House was left clean and nice . Most of all Tessa (our dog) loved her .”

“Kristina is ah-ma-zing! She sends multiple videos/photos during the stay, and obviously loves working with animals. She’s excellent person and we will rebook with her in a heart beat”

“Jaci took very good care of my cat in my home while I was on vacation. My cat was clean, healthy and happy. I liked that Jaci provided me with twice a day pictures and updates. Jaci left my home clean and locked. I definitely will he using her in the future.”

“Paige did a good job looking after our feisty little Yorkie. When we got back she seemed happy and relaxed. Thank you for taking care of her. Will be booking her again.”

“We loved having Ava watch Oliver. She sent us updates and pictures that put us at ease while we were away. We came home to a happy puppy and could tell he was well cared for.”

“Cari is absolutely amazing! She is warm and conscientious and took the time to get to know our cat and dog with their various quirks! Great communicator. I did not worry about the pets for the entire trip! Not only was she great with the animals, she took care of the house and even folded laundry/sheets we left in the dryer.”

“Lisa is a repeat sitter for my dog, Phoebe. I recently got two kittens and this was their first stay with a sitter, and Lisa was flexible and willing to adjust to their life style. I love getting daily pictures and updates which is always done with a lovely message. I’d recommend Lisa!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Little Canada
Anna took excellent care of our cats. (We have a 10 year old and a 20 year old!!) She loved them up and gave them lots of attention. She was also excellent at communicating with us. We received many photos and notes while we were gone. We’ve already booked her for our next trip away. 💛💛💛💛💛

Luke contacted us every day with wonderful and detailed updates on all four of our dogs. Our home was clean and the bed stripped when we returned home which was wonderful. If our crazy dogs didn't scare Luke and Rachel away, we will definitely have them stay with our zoo again!

Katrina always takes great care of our kitties. We were on an extended trip, and she took care of our house and kept us updated on our cats. One cat is 16 years old with kidney disease, and she made sure to keep us informed on how she was doing. We were able relax and enjoy our trip knowing our girls were well taken care of with Katrina.

Chioma took good care of our dogs. The two dogs were rescued a few months ago from a puppy mill, and have special needs due to how they had been treated. Chioma understood their needs, and upon our return, the dogs were thriving even more than before we left. The house was clean and everything in order. Thank you Chioma!

Repeat customer and so happy to be one!!! Sarah is amazing with our dog who is....somewhat high maintenance (think bad on walks, not always accepting of new people, etc), old grumpy cat, and guinea pig. She does it all! Not to mention she talks amazing care of our home when we're away! Highly recommend!

Elli was really wonderful to work with. She was communicative and I really appreciated that she was proactive about setting up meet and greets ahead of the stay to get to know our dog and to make sure she had all the information she need to house and dog sit. She was very friendly and caring with our dog and we would absolutely book with Elli again.

We enjoyed meeting Katelyn and entrusted her the care of our 15-year-old cat. Emma is a bit suspicious of new people but we hoped she and Katelyn would become friends in the 3 days we were away. Katelyn said that Emma purred a couple times on the last day. When we returned, the cat box had not been scooped for several days, and it looked like Emma's water hadn't been changed.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Little Canada on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 3,502 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Little Canada. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Little Canada walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Little Canada maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Little Canada choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Little Canada. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
