I love Animals I take car of the pets in our house and enjoy hanging out with them on a daily basis. I watch pets in our neighborhood almost every week as our neighbors have come to enjoy and rely on my pet care services I have watched pets in my home but have additionally visited neighbors and stayed at their home to watch pets overnight. I am comfortable caring for pets in any of these enviroments.
“Our humans and dogs were very pleased with Gretchen’s services. She is super professional and kind. We booked last minute and just for 2 nights. Gretchen was responsive and set up a meet and greet right away. Based on her stellar reviews and the way she knowingly handled our dogs during the meet and greet, we felt very comfortable with the arrangements. Gretchen kept us updated over the weekend. The pets were peaceful and ready for naps when we returned, which was perfect. Our house was also very well cared for. We will defiantly call on Gretchen again!”
“We had a wonderful experience with Rebecca during our vacation. She took great care of Kane and gave us peace of mind while we were away. Kane was happy, well cared for, and clearly comfortable in her care. We would absolutely book with her again.”

“Tayler is wonderful! My two pooches loved her. She did such a great job with both of their peculiarities. She took good care of Bowie with his allergies and his tendency to chew his feet. She left my house looking great! Also, her regular updates with photos made me feel so reassured that they were all doing well. I hope to keep her as my “go to” sitter!”

About: Caring for dogs since age 10, I grew up fostering pets and have experience with dogs, cats, and different personalities, providing loving, attentive, reliable care. I am available for Rover pet care services on most days of the week with a flexible and reliable routine. I can provide care in the mornings, mid-day, and evenings from Monday through Tuesday and Thursday through Sunday, making it easy to meet pets’ feeding, exercise, and companionship needs throughout the day. On Wednesdays, I am available in the morning and evening but unavailable during the afternoon, so care on that day would be adjusted to ensure pets receive attention before and after that time. I prioritize safe, respectful, and reliable care when looking after pets in their owner’s home. I carefully follow all instructions provided, including feeding schedules, portion sizes, medications, and daily routines, to ensure pets feel comfortable and stress-free while their owners are away. I also take great care to keep the home secure by locking doors, monitoring pets closely, and preventing any potential escape or hazards. Cleanliness is important to me, so I maintain tidy feeding areas, litter boxes, and living spaces while ensuring anything unsafe is kept out of reach. I pay close attention to each pet’s behavior and well-being, watching for any signs of stress or illness and keeping owners updated with regular communication. Above all, I respect each home and its rules, providing a calm, safe, and loving environment so pets can feel happy and secure in their familiar space.
“My animals (2 dogs and a crabby cat) loved Carolyn. In fact she came over a few days after I returned and the were so excited to see her. They definitely got a lot of attention. She sent lots of pictures which I really appreciated and communicated everyday on how their day was going. I appreciated her taking good care of my fur babies.”

“Kiara took such good care of my babies again. She always updates me with photos and status of them throughout the day and night. I recommend her highly. She also kept my house clean and looks just as good as when I left for vacation”

“Emerson was able to provide house sitting for my 8 week old puppy last minute, which I fully appreciated. He has a way with pups, my pup slept the entire visit in his lap ❤️”

About: I have 2 dogs and 3 cats of my own. One of my pups is a rambunctious puppy and the other is getting up into his senior years. My puppy is self taught and already knows over 10 tricks, he’s still young so hopefully we can squeeze a few more in. My senior pup I got later on in his life, I taught him a few tricks but he can get stubborn in his years😅 all of my cats are healthy, except for the oldest who only has 3 teeth(she was like this when I adopted her) and those 3 teeth are going strong! No matter how much I pushed wet food she always went for her sisters dry food that is left out. On of my cats in the past was a wobbly kitty so I also have experience with special needs. All of my pets were adopted from AHS! A little more about me: I am a full time paraprofessional at a level 4 year round autism school, my hours there are 8am-3:30pm. I recently transitioned to schools this past year and have loved it. Then I work Saturdays at a group home for disabled adults, my hours there are 8am-12pm one week and 8am-8pm the other. I’ve been with this company for almost 6 years and have played multiple roles from a DSP-Program manager. I can assure you I know how to handle things in tense situations! These hours still give me plenty of time to play with your fur babies, I know the one Saturday can get long but I will make sure they get a good walk and fed before leaving and returning home! (If the stay is in my home though, I have other people that can let them out for a quick potty breaks if you allow.) First thing I do is feed my cats and dogs when I get up, they don’t let me forget. I’m constantly cleaning up all their toys and clean their litterbox twice weekly. My dogs get a quick walk in the morning and we always finish the night with some training and a longer walk before bed. If I am in your home I will follow your guidelines that you give, whether that be potty breaks/ meal times/ exercise/ meds, whatever you need! In my home I will still follow your schedule but I have a chain for them to go outside quickly, a nice field next to my house(not completely fenced) that we can run around in or if you are okay with me taking them in my car there’s a few trails and a fenced park less than 2 miles from me!
“Leaving our energetic standard poodle with Jessica felt like we were leaving him with a close friend. We were away for two weeks and we didn’t worried about him once. Jessica kept in touch just the right amount and from her texts and photos we could see that Charley was get plenty of exercise and love and he likes a lot of both. We and Charley look forward to having her dog sit again.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Arden Hills walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Arden Hills maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Arden Hills choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
