“Our senior cat had an awful IBS flare right before vacation. We needed someone who could pay attention to the details and administer medications. We were first time Rover users and it was such a positive experience. Amanda was wonderful and made us feel so comfortable. We returned home to cat who was well on the mend. We also have two other younger cats who took to Amanda, too. It was fun to see at the initial meet-and-greet. The visit reports always made us feel good about enjoying our time away. We definitely will be contacting Amanda again!”

“Christy is always amazing. Our cats adore her. It is so nice for the kitties to be able to stay home when we are away and have someone as responsible, caring, and skilled as Christy looking after them.”

“Sonia was AMAZING! Our cats are usually a little scared of new people but after the second visit, they both came out to get pets from her. Sonia was very communicative, kind, and really loves animals. I recommend her to any cat owners, and I will definitely use her services again. 10/10”
About: I have had two dogs in my life but have been the “best aunt ever” for many of my brothers and friends dogs. I understand that not all dogs are the same, they have their preferences, their likes/dislikes, and their levels of activity and stimulus. As a sitter I believe it’s important to keep up with the pets regular routine as much as possible by following the rules established by their owners. I love to spoil a dog and take them on more walks and more cuddles than normal because when owners/parents are on vacation i want the pet to have a fun vacation as well. I currently don’t have any pets so am able to care for the animal that needs to be an “only pet”. But I have friends and neighbors with dogs so I also have a way to help they socialize. I work a full time job but can do it from anywhere with internet. My job is pretty flexible so if I need to walk a dog at a certain time or have a cat sit on my lap all day I can usually make that work. I have a fully fenced in yard with lots of fun smells. Most of the yard is five+ feet fence but some is a traditional chainlink fence. We have a magnetic screen on the back door so when the weather is nice we have the option of opening the door so the dog and go in and out as much as they want. We also have a full door that can be closed if the pet needs someone with them when in the yard.

“Juli was a perfect dog sitter. Mac took to her right away. She took him for walks and took very good care of him and he was healthy and happy when we got home. I would definitely hire her again. Thanks much!”

About: I have taken care of dogs since I was about 8 or 9, mostly family dogs to start. I have also house sat for not only family dogs but friends as well. I work at a doggie daycare facility currently, so I am familiar with dog behaviors and care. I currently work full-time in evenings, so that gives plenty of morning time for walks and cuddles. I am available for both boarding and daily care most of my week and always try to be flexible with clients. I love to have animals be as comfortable as they can be in their owners home, whatever that might look like. My goal is to make the clients and dogs as comfortable as possibly while building trust and good relationship.
About: I have lots of patience for all kinds of animals with all kinds of behaviors. I am passionate about cats dogs, and any pet I meet. I am often the favorite human to the animals in my life. I currently have a part time job but am planning to do full time school in the fall. I will have time outside of classes, and plenty of time over the summer, to care and play with your pets! I will try to get to know your pet as best I can. I am flexible and willing to snuggle, play, go on walks or look out the window with your furry friend. If I am ever watching pets in my own home I have a very friendly 30 lb terrier mix that loves to play with other dogs.
“Elizabeth always goes above and beyond to care for our dogs. You can tell this is her priority above all else, and always ensures they are safe and taken care of. 10/5 would recommend”

“Katelyn provided great care for my shy little Quincy. I appreciated the daily check ins as this was the first time using Rover. I would ask Katelyn to care for Quincy in the future. Thanks. He was a hoppy boy when I got home.”

About: I have experience caring for dogs, cats, birds and a wide variety of other animals. I’m excited to meet your pet and provide them everything they need! As a student in wildlife biology I have a fairly flexible schedule. Please contact me about days that are not immediately listed on my profile. Walks, cuddles, feeding, playing, medicating, cleaning up after, and general husbandry/enrichment are just the start of what I can provide for your pets. Please let me know about any particular services you may need!
“Pamela was fantastic with our two cats! She was always timely in her drop-ins, gave comprehensive updates, and kept our cats happy and entertained. We highly recommend her for anyone else looking for a sitter!”

“Pingping is the best sitter anyone could ever ask for!! She is so kind, attentive, flexible, and always follows instructions. I can’t imagine leaving my cats with anyone else - I highly recommend booking with her!”

“Lauren was wonderful in taking care of Mr. Kitty who was newly diagnosed as diabetic. She was very punctual as Kitty needed injections and feedings every 12 hrs. She left little notes as to how he was doing with injections and his litter box habits. We are very pleased with the time that she has spent with Mr. Kitty”

“Katelyn was great! Her communication was always quick and friendly. She was flexible the day of our outing which we greatly appreciated. She sent lots of great photos and we knew our 4 dogs were well taken care of. Highly recommend!”

About: ✨️🐶 Please continue to read my profile (including availability and pricing sections) before requesting a meet & greet I have always loved and cared about the welfare of animals ever since I can remember, and even had several different pets of my own growing up that I cared for, including a couple of dogs (one of which lived to be 17 years old!). I have past experience with volunteering at organisations such as the SPCA (providing care for cats, dogs, and rabbits) and caring for cats at AniMall Cat Clinic. I have helped several close ones and neighbours thoroughout the years with pet care needs for their dogs and cats, which included: feeding, walking, providing transportation to veterinary appointments, and spending quality time with the pets, just giving them affection or playing games such as fetch/tug of war. I have experience with caring for breeds that are reactive to other dogs (but still love the company of humans), and with breeds that are often subject to housing or insurance restrictions, some of which have included: Pit Bulls, German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois, Huskies, Dobermans, and American Bullies. I focus on understanding each dog's individual temperament, communication style, and needs. I am also experienced in administering medication to both dogs and cats in oral, injectable, and topical forms. 🐾 I require a meet and greet with all new/first time clients before officially booking a house sitting. Please know that a stay is considered confirmed only after the meet and greet is completed, the booking has been mutually agreed upon, and has been officially booked through Rover. For longer stays (especially longer than 1 week), I would recommend you to reach out once you've fully decided that in-home care through Rover is the option you'd like to pursue. 🐾 Please also note that I do work M-F full time, excluding major holidays. For house sits that fall on weekdays, my standard on days that I am working onsite is to provide care mornings before work, evenings after work, and of course, stay overnight in the home. On the days that I am required to be onsite (which I communicate with pet parents), my ability to provide midday breaks is limited, and only available if my schedule and commute allow. For walks and drop ins in particular, I would be a great choice for pet parents that need care in evenings, nights, and weekends. I will listen to/observe your pet's body language and demeanour before approaching, and will always interact with them gently and kindly. On walks and out in the yard, I always use a leash or harness to keep the pet safe. Furthermore, I always strive to keep an eye out for any potential hazards to pets while they are in my care, whether that is something that spilled on the floor, or an unfamiliar object in the yard, and will always act swiftly to remove the hazard so your pet will be out of harm's way. I believe good pet care includes planning for the unexpected, so I like to establish emergency contacts, veterinary/animal hospital information, and contingency plans with every client before a stay (and preferably have these included in written directions too).

“We appreciated Mezi coming to let our pup out and play with him while we were out. Great communication and reliable, she even accommodated coming to meet us beforehand which we really appreciated. We will definitely use her again to watch him.”

This is the third time we have worked with Amanda to watch our cat on a prolonged trip. She takes such good care of our kitty. Amanda sends lots of photos, and our cat loves playing with her. Handing off of keys is easy, and she’s extremely flexible. We’ll absolutely work with her again.

We asked Tyler to do a drop-in visit for our three cats while away for the weekend, and he did a great job. Our cats were happy when we arrived home. Litter robot had adequate litter, water fountain and food bowls were full. One of our cats is very shy, he put in effort to find her to know that she’s well but ultimately respected her boundaries and put wet food in a safe space for her. Would definitely recommend tyler to others needing a rover sitter and would love to hire him again! Thanks again

Cari did a great job during a drop in with Honey! She was able to let her out twice and get her to take her meds even though she is anxious and wary of people coming into the house. Cari is a great communicator too! I would definitely recommend her and plan to use her again.

Ava was really amazing. She was very professional, and above all she was very thoughtful, kind and caring with our senior with special needs dog. She met with us prior to our scheduled drop ins so she was familiar with Cole’s needs and routines. She was an exceptional communicator, sending pictures and updating us with how things were going, and very understanding with our shy senior dog. We would highly recommend her and definitely look forward to using her again!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
