“Luke was absolutely AMAZING! He stayed with our fur baby for a whole week at our house while we went on a trip! He was constantly in communication with us, sending updates & photos and spoiled our girl rotten! I think she went on more beautiful walks than when we take her at home 🤣 I have major anxiety leaving our fur baby places or with unknown people, but Luke took all of that anxiety away and we were able to fully enjoy our trip! 10/10!!!! He was truly amazing!!!! Thank you again, Luke!”

“Kaitlin was awesome! Our two big dogs loved hanging out with her and we were grateful that she was available to watch them all week. It's really nice knowing that your pets are well taken care of. Kaitlin sent us daily updates with pictures and we came home to happy, excited boys. Would book again in a heartbeat!”

“Norah is the kindest animal lover! She’s great at communicating, giving updates and pictures. Norah is the best of the best, you will be happy with her caring for your pets!!!”

“Katherine was always on time and professional, she sent me regular updates on the dogs and left the house in perfect order, even cleaned up, did some vacuuming and poop patrolled so that I came home with nothing to left to do except hug the dogs!”

About: I’ve always connected with animals, dogs in particular have truly been the best friends of my life. Their love, curiosity, and genuine spirit is a magnet to me. I am patient and kind, and have good intentions, dogs pick up on that and trust me quickly. I work full time as a handyman, and have a passion for the outdoors, and animals. My schedule is flexible, which allows me to help others with their pet care needs. I’m happy to come to your home and help with any pet care needs. I currently rent, so unfortunately I’m not able to have animals at my home.
“Anna is by far one of the best dog sitters. She sent a ton of photos as well as communicated throughout her entire stay. I appreciated her thoughtful questions and the care she gave to my fur baby. Would definitely book over and over again.”

“Jaci did a great job house/pet sitting! When I returned home, my house was clean and my cat was happy! I will definitely reach out to her again in the future!”

“Emma was great! She took such good care of our special needs pup and elderly cat. She asked great questions and followed everything we asked. We got a bunch of updates and pictures, so nice. Will absolutely be booking with her again!”

“We cannot say enough good things about Keely! She was so unbelievably kind and caring with our very old pup. She’s a great communicator and very thorough. It was a real relief leaving him in her very capable hands. She also took great care of our house and left it just like we did. Looking forward to working with her again!”

“Shawnda house sat for our two dogs and left our puppies happy and home spotless. She was an incredible care taker. 10/10 would recommend to anyone searching for someone to stay with their fur babies.”

“Rylan was a lifesaver. She agreed to take care of my girls (11 month old kittens) very last minute so I could go on vacation. Her communication and daily updates were great, and she took very good care of my home and kitties while I was away.”

“Leann did a fantastic job caring for our 2 dogs, one of which we adopted just 3 days before our trip and she was more than willing to take on a second dog! She helped him acclimate to our home and other dog and even taught him how to sit for us! She kept us updated with lots of videos and pictures and our house was very tidy when we came home. Would definitely recommend!”

“Cari is absolutely amazing! She is warm and conscientious and took the time to get to know our cat and dog with their various quirks! Great communicator. I did not worry about the pets for the entire trip! Not only was she great with the animals, she took care of the house and even folded laundry/sheets we left in the dryer.”

“We loved having Ava watch Oliver. She sent us updates and pictures that put us at ease while we were away. We came home to a happy puppy and could tell he was well cared for.”

“Lisa was great to work with and was great at communicating while we were on vacation. It was nice to see pictures of our cat and dog being well taken care of while we were gone. Would recommend her for sure.”

“First time having a house sitter and I must say, Anika took all of my worries away. Regular updates with pictures and videos and good communication. It was as if Id known her forever and my fur babies were in great care with her. 10/10”

About: I have 2 dogs and 3 cats of my own. One of my pups is a rambunctious puppy and the other is getting up into his senior years. My puppy is self taught and already knows over 10 tricks, he’s still young so hopefully we can squeeze a few more in. My senior pup I got later on in his life, I taught him a few tricks but he can get stubborn in his years😅 all of my cats are healthy, except for the oldest who only has 3 teeth(she was like this when I adopted her) and those 3 teeth are going strong! No matter how much I pushed wet food she always went for her sisters dry food that is left out. On of my cats in the past was a wobbly kitty so I also have experience with special needs. All of my pets were adopted from AHS! A little more about me: I am a full time paraprofessional at a level 4 year round autism school, my hours there are 8am-3:30pm. I recently transitioned to schools this past year and have loved it. Then I work Saturdays at a group home for disabled adults, my hours there are 8am-12pm one week and 8am-8pm the other. I’ve been with this company for almost 6 years and have played multiple roles from a DSP-Program manager. I can assure you I know how to handle things in tense situations! These hours still give me plenty of time to play with your fur babies, I know the one Saturday can get long but I will make sure they get a good walk and fed before leaving and returning home! (If the stay is in my home though, I have other people that can let them out for a quick potty breaks if you allow.) First thing I do is feed my cats and dogs when I get up, they don’t let me forget. I’m constantly cleaning up all their toys and clean their litterbox twice weekly. My dogs get a quick walk in the morning and we always finish the night with some training and a longer walk before bed. If I am in your home I will follow your guidelines that you give, whether that be potty breaks/ meal times/ exercise/ meds, whatever you need! In my home I will still follow your schedule but I have a chain for them to go outside quickly, a nice field next to my house(not completely fenced) that we can run around in or if you are okay with me taking them in my car there’s a few trails and a fenced park less than 2 miles from me!

“Kristin stayed with our pups for three nights! She was very accommodating of their schedules and they seemed to be happy! She sent pictures daily and kept us updated on how they were doing. We would recommend Kristin to others!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - White Bear Lake
This was our first time using Rover and Erin was wonderful! She took great care of our boy Jax, as he can get very anxious being left alone but he warmed up to her quickly! She was very communicative with updates and pictures, which helped reassure us that Jax was being well taken care of. We would definitely have Erin watch Jax and house sit again!

Kaitlin was amazing. She took care of our two French Bulldogs and was very attentive and communicative, incredibly professional, and you can tell she really cares about animals. We would highly recommend her and will definitely be using her services again in the future.

Courtney was absolutely awesome with Bubba. We got pictures every day. She took him for many walks and we could tell he was well loved while we were out of town. She left the house clean and picked up. We will definitely be hiring Courtney again!! She is the best!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred White Bear Lake walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in White Bear Lake maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in White Bear Lake choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
