“We had such a great experience with Fernanda! She was loving, reliable, and kept us updated the whole time. Our dog was so happy and well cared for—we’ll absolutely book with her again!”

“🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Ashley is Incredible! Ashley watched our French Bulldog, Blue Bell, for 5 days, and she was absolutely wonderful! Frenchies definitely come with their own unique quirks and big personalities, but Ashley didn't skip a beat. She completely embraced Blue Bell's quirkiness and made sure she felt comfortable, happy, and loved the entire time. It is such a relief to find a sitter who truly understands and appreciates your dog's individual personality. Ashley is a genuine dog lover—reliable, attentive, and is very knowledgeable about different types of dogs. We will absolutely be using her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for top-tier care!”

“This was Nikes first time with Andrew and it was seamless! He sent us updates, videos, photos and eased any concerns we had. We appreciated how thorough he was with checking in Nike and keeping us informed. Nike came back totally happy and exhausted. Perfect. Highly recommend!”

“Kirsten was amazing — attentive, sweet, communicative and put my mind totally at ease leaving our puppy with her (the first time we’ve had to do so!). We will absolutely rebook Kirsten the next time we need care for our dog. She was so lovely and I know our pup felt right at home the whole time.”

“Takenya was amazing! My dog had some behavior issues come up and she handled them perfectly! Excellent communication and plenty of photos and videos to share to ensure I didn’t stress about the issues. These really helped me enjoy the work conference I was attending without stressing :) Mountain was a very happy camper after staying with Takenya. Her home was very clean and quiet!”

“Amy took great care of my dog Maple! Maple is dog-reactive and takes a while to warm up to people, but Amy showed him nothing but patience and made it a great, fun stay for him. She asked great questions at our meet and greet and when I dropped him off to make sure she knew his favorite toys and games, his meal and treat habits, and how to make him feel supported. I felt assured he was in safe and attentive hands! She even agreed to keep him an extra night when our flight got delayed, and her flexibility and understanding turned a minor nightmare into a small hiccup. Apologies to the neighbors that had to listen to Maple bark all weekend, but huge thanks to Amy! 💖”

“Our two dogs loved going to their house! Good yard to sniff around and play in and their dog was very sweet and got a long so well with our dogs. Even when an incident came up, they were so good about communicating with me and keeping the dogs' best interest at heart.”

“Lizzy did an amazing job!! This was our first experience leaving Cookie with a sitter, and it was perfect for us. With Cookie’s separation anxiety, we were really nervous about how she would react. Thanks to Lizzy’s patience and expertise, it sounded like Cookie was able to relax and get comfortable quicker than expected. Thank you, Lizzy!!!”

“I was very comfortable with Danielle and Chad. My dogs were well cared for, I didn't have a moment of concern. It was the first time leaving Lola, they were patient with her although she was rather skittish. I highly recommend them if you need care for your dogs.”

“We had a wonderful experience with Bryan. It was obvious from our first. Meet and greet -they are animal lovers and I felt like I was leaving my dog with a trusted friend/family member. I received updates while we were away. I would highly recommend Bryan to anyone.”

“Catherine was excellent with our dog Misiu! She was incredibly attentive, and sent lots of photos and videos throughout our vacation. She allowed him to snuggle with her in bed, which he’s used to. That was very much appreciated. We will definitely rebook with Catherine. Misiu was a happy boy the entire time, we weren’t missed 😆”

“Ken took great care of Koda during her 1st non-family overnight. He made sure to have a full understanding of Koda’s needs and routines. Koda was so excited when I dropped her off she didn't even care that I was leaving. I can tell that Ken took care of Koda like she was his own dog and would definitely recommend!”

“Noelle was amazing and the dogs really enjoyed their time with her! They came back happy and tired from all the running around in the yard. Noelle was very kind and kept me up to date with the pups. Will definitely look her way for future sitting needs 😊”

I had such a great experience with Lisa! She was kind, communicative, and took excellent care of Nala. She kept me updated and made me feel completely comfortable knowing Nala was in good hands. Everything went smoothly, and Nala came home happy and well cared for. I would absolutely book with Lisa again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter!

Lori was so excellent to our super senior kitty! She did oral meds twice a day and helped make sure she was eating and adjusting to her environment comfortably. Lori sent plenty of updates and pictures and made us feel very comfortable leaving our prescious little old lady with her.

Tobi had a great time with Brooklyn and her family. He loved their little girl and got along great with their gentle Bernese Mountain Dog. I received updates once or twice a day with cute photos. Brooklyn was accommodating of my request to change the pickup time. We look forward to having Tobi stay with Brooklyn again.

Roberta was genuinely a life saver for me this week. My cat was recovering from a surgery and while she was with Roberta, she got sick again. Roberta kept me up to date and without a question took her into the vet so that they could make sure everything was okay. I am so so grateful for Roberta’s help and care for my baby!

Shevon and Ian took excellent care of my poodle, Basca. They even set aside a request to watch another dog because it was her first time and she can get overwhelmed. And they understood about her being a flight risk. They sent me pictures and reports every day. In addition to all of this, they’re just as nice as they can be. I absolutely recommend them! -Tracy Wilson

Second time having Megan care for our slightly dramatic and highly sensitive pitbull-lab mix, Charlie. He was so excited to see her when we arrived and seemed so comfortable and happy when we picked him up. Megan always sends pics and texts about his day, and gives him lots of love. We will definitely book with Megan in the future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
