“The best. Juno loves going to see them. I love getting the photos and Patty and Patrick are the kindest people who love pets. So lucky I found them!”

“Colleen and Joe took great care of Theo. Lots of adorable pictures were sent and we can tell Theo was happy staying over at their place despite his separation anxiety. Would definitely recommend!”

“Our pug LOVED his 4-day stay with Brenda and her family! Our little guy got along great with her two pit bulls and really bonded with their little boy. The dogs played and ran together in the fenced in yard. Our pug came home happy and ready to nap. Each day, I received a couple of photos with a brief update which I appreciated. This was a short-notice booking, and I am so grateful that Brenda was available. We will definitely arrange dog-sitting with Brenda in the future.”

“Our 7 month old large puppy had a fantastic stay with Lydia! We loved getting updates from her with adorable pictures. Lydia went above and beyond by brushing our dog a few times while he was there which was incredibly helpful since he has a high maintenance coat. We will definitely have him stay with her again.”

“Our puppy had a great time playing with Kirsten and her family! I would feel more than comfortable having our pup stay with her again. Kirsten sent pictures and updates. She replied to messages in a reasonable amount of time.”

“Jenny and Mark were great with Wall-e! He came home happy and healthy. They sent pictures during the day and even sent us home with some! Would book with them again in the future.”

“I will definitely be going to Lizzy for any services again!! She made sure to update me everyday and really made the pups were happy while my partner and I were away (:”

“Kari, Randy and especially Lexi have been the best sitters for Charley ever since her puppy days. Lots of feedback and pictures and super flexible about schedule changes. Charley absolutely drags me up to the front door when we arrive for the engagement and I know she’s in good hands. Charley and I have moved out of state but we always try to use Kari when be we come to town to visit.”

“Nathan did a great job with our Rosie. Rosie loved lounging with the kids, playing with the other dogs, and was even the center of a dance show. We received daily updates while we were gone, and came home to a happy exhausted girl.”

“An amazing second stay with Elsa and Nick! Enzo was living his best life (again) and truly didn’t want to leave when my husband picked him up. Thank you, team! Also - a quick note that Enzo’s behavior with strangers actually improved after his first stay with Elsa and Nick in April. He was much less anxious with new people at our house; an amazing byproduct of their wonderful care!”

“Gabi and Tommi took great care of Dora! They were responsive to my check ins and sent pictures so I could rest easy on my vacation. I’ll definitely leave Dora with them again!”

“We use Tim exclusively for our dog Mia. She responds well to him and his fur family, and has a great time. Tim is very responsive and knows we worry so updates come often, with photos or video. This person cares about what he does, and does it well. Mia thinks he is pretty awesome too!!”

“What an awesome family! Kelly and Jim and their girls were so welcoming, accommodating, and reassuring when we left our dog Hazel for a couple of nights. They sent the cutest updates with their sweet dog Maisie playing ...even outside on a very rainy weekend!! Would highly recommend their care and confidence. Ten stars!”

“Kara and Adam were amazing! I was a little leery about leaving my pup at someone else’s house for the first time, but I could tell Tupelo was in good hands and she had a blast! Kara is great about sending pictures and updates along the way, so I could see all the love and attention they were giving Tupelo. Kara, Adam, Oscar and family were awesome with Tupelo and I hope to become a regular patron of theirs in the future!”

“Nichole & Jacob took great care of our dog. They were very responsive with communication both before and during his boarding. I will definitely be using them for future boarding needs.”

“McKenzie took great care of our dog, Lulu! Our dog is shy and she alleviated any stress we had leaving her. She was accommodating to her medications and helped her make some new doggie friends. We will definitely use her again!”

“Thank you Eric and Martha for taking my pup in with such joy and enthusiasm! He wouldn’t stop talking on the car ride home about all the fun things he did with you, picking up sticks, recycling cardboard boxes, and getting extra treats. Keep up the great job!”

“This was the 2nd time that Sexton my puggle has been with Dave. He greeted Sexton upon arrival and confirmed all items - including food details, walk details, etc. I believe my dog was happy and well taken care of in Dave's care.”

“Maxi (my girl cat) loved staying at Mario's. I was afraid she wouldn't want to come home. He played with her, fed her, groomed her, treated her like royalty. I definitely will have him babysit my girl again.”

Amy took great care of my dog Maple! Maple is dog-reactive and takes a while to warm up to people, but Amy showed him nothing but patience and made it a great, fun stay for him. She asked great questions at our meet and greet and when I dropped him off to make sure she knew his favorite toys and games, his meal and treat habits, and how to make him feel supported. I felt assured he was in safe and attentive hands! She even agreed to keep him an extra night when our flight got delayed, and her flexibility and understanding turned a minor nightmare into a small hiccup. Apologies to the neighbors that had to listen to Maple bark all weekend, but huge thanks to Amy! 💖

Second time having Megan care for our slightly dramatic and highly sensitive pitbull-lab mix, Charlie. He was so excited to see her when we arrived and seemed so comfortable and happy when we picked him up. Megan always sends pics and texts about his day, and gives him lots of love. We will definitely book with Megan in the future.

Ken took great care of Koda during her 1st non-family overnight. He made sure to have a full understanding of Koda’s needs and routines. Koda was so excited when I dropped her off she didn't even care that I was leaving. I can tell that Ken took care of Koda like she was his own dog and would definitely recommend!

Shevon and Ian did a great job watching my dog on two separate occasions while I was on vacation! I get anxious leaving my pup with someone new, but they were fantastic about sending updates and asking all the right questions, so I was quickly put at ease. They have a great backyard setup, and my dog had so much fun hanging out with their pup and the family! Will definitely reach out again in the future!

Noelle was a lifesaver for us when we ran into issues with another sitter mid-trip. She took our pup on very short notice over a busy holiday weekend, and did a great job managing some challenging dynamics. We're so grateful and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to others!

Brooklyn and her family took wonderful care of my senior dog Betty. Betty loved the opportunity to wander off leash in a fenced yard, but Brooklyn followed my instructions never to leave her alone in the yard. Betty and Brooklyn's 2-year old happily exchanged kisses; Betty loved all the attention. Brooklyn was very understanding when my return/Betty pick-up was delayed by several hours which I very much appreciated. A good time was had by all.
Remy’s 2nd stay with Robert just as successful as his first. Robert thoughtfully sent a few photos of the activities. They were engaged in. Robert also dealt very thoughtfully with a timing/travel snafu that we ran into in an area where we did not have good Wi-Fi or cell service. We very much appreciate his calm, gentle and kind services.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
