It’s with a heavy heart that I share that my sweet boy, Rocky, crossed the rainbow bridge on February 20, 2026. He was 13½ years old and courageously lived 100% blind due to diabetes. Caring for him through his medical journey deepened my experience and commitment to providing attentive, compassionate care to every dog entrusted to me. I have volunteered with Coco’s Heart Dog Rescue for many years. I stepped away temporarily when my son left for college, but I am now actively fostering again. Rescue work has given me extensive hands-on experience with dogs of all ages, temperaments, and medical needs. I am comfortable and experienced with: Twice-daily insulin injections Oral medication administration Subcutaneous fluid administration (including during Rocky’s pancreatitis episodes) Senior dog care High-anxiety dogs requiring daily medication and structured support My late dog Rambo (who passed over three years ago) required daily anxiety medication, so I understand how important patience, consistency, and calm energy are for sensitive pups. Important Note: Beginning September 10, 2025, I will be caring for my 3-year-old granddaughter in my home during the week. She is very familiar with dogs (her mom is a professional dog groomer) and understands how to behave appropriately around them — no chasing, climbing, or startling. However, for everyone’s safety and comfort, dogs in my weekday care must be kid-friendly and have prior positive experience with young children. Your dog’s safety, comfort, and emotional well-being are my top priorities. I treat every pup in my care as if they were my own.
