Introduction Hi! My name is Lori and I LOVE ALL ANIMALS! I am recently retired and I always said that when I had time, I'd spend my days helping animals, however possible. I am so excited to finally be in a place where I can make that happen! If you would help me get my new focus started, I'll offer you a $20 discount and I will treat your pet like family! I’m an experienced pet caregiver with over 40 years of hands-on time caring for dogs, cats, and small animals, and a genuine passion for ensuring pets feel happy and at home while their families are away. I have a special spot in my heart for senior dogs and cats but I also love puppies and kittens, and everything in between! I've cared for my own dogs, cats, mice, hamsters, gerbils, and birds for over 40 years, so I understand the daily routines, quirks, and needs of all kinds of companions. I'm especially attuned to dogs and cats—I read their body language exceptionally well and know what they're "saying. "For example, a slow blink from a cat is their way of saying "I love you," while a soft "mee mee" often means "come here." With dogs, I always approach respectfully: letting them sniff my open palm first (never reaching over their head, as it can feel dominant), then gently petting the shoulder and down the side. Energy matters so much—staying calm, happy, and positive helps even anxious pets relax quickly. I have a whole "warehouse" of these insights from years of close observation, and I love using them to build trust and joy. I'm reliable, patient, and genuinely excited to care for your pets as if they were my own. I'll play with them, give plenty of love and cuddles, follow your instructions to a T, and make sure they feel at home. Being away from your furry family is tough—I get it, and I'll do my best to keep things feeling normal and happy for them (and send you lots of updates and pictures so you can see for yourself!). I can provide most of the same loving care as other sitters—feedings, fresh water, potty breaks, playtime, toy fun, and house check-ins—but due to some mobility limits, I focus on shorter, gentle walks (up to about 15 minutes) or indoor/outdoor potty time and enrichment instead of longer neighborhood strolls. This works wonderfully for calmer dogs, seniors, smaller breeds, or cats who prefer cozy companionship. I'm happy to adapt to your pet's energy level and needs!
