About: I’m an Animal Science graduate and I train service dogs with Can Do Canines, so I have a lot of experience working with dogs in different environments and understanding their behavior and needs. I’ve worked with puppies, high-energy dogs, and older pets who need a little extra patience and care. I’m very attentive to body language and routines, and I always try to make sure pets feel comfortable, safe, and loved while you’re away. I also grew up with dogs and have hands-on experience raising and training my own family pets—including a feisty dachshund puppy who I helped train into a gentle, well-behaved dog, along with two other dogs with strong obedience and great temperaments. My background means I naturally reinforce good habits, use positive reinforcement, and keep things consistent with what your pet already knows. I truly love spending time with animals, and I treat every pet like they’re my own—whether that’s going on walks, playing, or just giving them some extra attention and cuddles. After graduating from UMN, I’ll be working part-time at the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Roseville (around 20 hours per week). My schedule varies slightly week to week, but this also gives me a lot of flexibility for pet care. Outside of my shifts, I have a wide availability and love filling my time caring for pets. I’m happy to work with your schedule and can often accommodate mornings, evenings, weekends, and extended stays. I currently provide care in clients’ homes, where pets are most comfortable in their own environment and routine. I always take the time to learn your pet’s schedule, preferences, and any specific instructions so I can keep things as consistent and stress-free as possible. Safety is my top priority. I’m very attentive to surroundings on walks and in the home, and always monitor pets closely. With my background training service dogs, I’m confident handling a variety of behaviors and situations calmly and responsibly. I also have experience administering medications, including oral, topical, and injectable medications, and I’m comfortable following detailed care instructions when needed. I respect your home as if it were my own, keeping things clean, secure, and exactly how you left them. About: Worked for four years at a dog boarding and daycare facility over summer and winter breaks from college as a dog handler and eventually as a supervisor. Per employment requirements, I am now certified in dog body language and dog group management! I also have a high-energy breed of my own at home who is still in her puppy phase. At school I am a double major in environmental science and human-animal studies and have a strong passion for working with animals. I recently started a part time position where I work a changing schedule 4 days a week, I work evenings from 4-9/10 on weekdays and 5-10/11 weekends. I’m happy to do drop in visits, walks, or house sitting before and after my shifts if that works for your pet’s schedule! I am happy to accommodate and follow whatever routine your dog/cat is used to! I have worked with all different kinds of dog breeds to the working breed, high-energy dogs to sleepy couch potatoes. I am very patient and understanding and will give unconditional love to any cat or dog! I live in a nice neighborhood so I would like to take dogs for walks multiple times a day or play in my big backyard with them! I am a teacher in White Bear, and I would be able to take your dog for a walk before and after school to make sure they are able to get their energy out! I currently do not have any other pets in my home so all of my care an attention will go into caring for your pet. My apartment has a big back yard for dogs to run around and play in, and a quiet neighborhood to go for walks. I am also close to many parks where I could bring a dog to play or walk!
