About: I treat every pet like they’re my own, with patience, attentiveness, and lots of love. Whether it’s administering medications, deep-cleaning litter boxes, or taking them on long walks I am currently working mornings and evenings so I have plenty of time in the afternoon to play with your pet and taking long walks. I’ve done house sitting at others home and have respected all of their wishes with their pet and their home. It is better for pets to stay in their home so they are comfortable.

About: I have been taking care of animals all my life. My family ran a doggy daycare in Germany for several years, And ever since I've moved to Minnesota I've been longing to get back into the business! I have experience working with dogs of all different sizes, cats, rabbits, and even birds! No challenge is too big for me and I am very familiar working with animals that require special needs. Your animals well-being is my top priority and I will treat them as if they were my own! I am a college student with flexible, part-time work– meaning that your pets will never be alone for too long! We can discuss exact schedules in more detail as needed, and I am more than willing to be flexible and accommodating to your needs! As a professional in the industry, I am very aware of the fact that every client has their own needs and wants. I always engange with animals and client homes with the utmost respect. Please do not shy away from requesting any accomodations! No request is too small, and it is very important to me that you feel your loved ones are in good hands with me!

About: I have grown up around pets all of my life, having had multiple dogs and cats throughout. As a teenager, I would be trusted by neighbors to sit multiple pets at a time while they went on vacation. More than that, I am familiar with senior pet care and administering oral medicine. I am currently working part-time so I am available and ready to handle pet care most days of the week, including weekends. More, I am able to do early morning and late night care. I can create a safe environment for your pet by finding their comfort and acknowledging what they need within the home. Likewise, on walks, I am able to handle large dogs and other animal contact, making sure your pet stays safe in my care.

About: Hi, I’m Lydia — dog mom, belly rub expert, and professional sniff-spot scout. I’ve spent 15 years learning what dogs actually want (hint: it’s all of the above), and a lifetime growing up with dogs and cats of every personality. Energetic or chill, young or old, I’ve got them covered. My daily and weekly routine revolves around pet care. My dog is my first thought when I wake up and the last thing I worry about before bed. I have an abundance of parks near my home that I can take your fur baby to for both exercise and play. I love a good adventure.

About: I have 23 years of pet ownership experience (cats, reptiles, and a simple fish tank). I also have a bit of volunteer experience training service dogs and have taken care of friends' pets while they're away. I work my other job from home and determine my own hours, so my schedule is generally very flexible. I have a weekday evening commitment a couple times a week, but I can easily work around that two hour block of time. I love animals and will do everything I can to take care of yours as if they're my own. Let's discuss medical needs before booking, and I will make sure I have your vet's information in case of emergencies. I require a meet & greet for first time bookings. This is a complimentary visit to meet your animals, learn the routines, and ask each other any questions we need to make sure they get the best care.

About: We LOVE dogs and have a city sized house full of people that love giving them attention! We have 2 school age children but are home full time in the summer with a good sized fenced backyard and our own friendly pups, Oli and Lulu. We go back to our full-time jobs as educators on August 25, so our calendar reflects our school year availability (mostly weekends and some school breaks!) I (Kara) grew up always having a dog in the family, and as soon as I could, I acquired one of my own. I've learned that dogs need people, but people need dogs just as much. All this to say, we can't imagine a world without these furry little companions! With many attentive people in our household, your dog will never have needs unmet. Whether it be snuggles, toys, pets, walks, playtimes, food... be assured we can handle it! We can't wait to meet your dog! We both work in education, so our summers are very open & flexible and offer so many opportunities for dog walks, dog parks, pet cuddles, etc. Once the school year starts, our calendar reflects our weekend and school break availability! We have a fenced back yard and get on many outings with our own high energy dog. We do on long walks daily and often to the off leash dog park (if your dog is licensed in Minneapolis). We have a friendly cat that mostly keeps to herself around dogs, but she does not allow other cats in the home (so we are unable to board cats.)

About: My name is Serenity, and I guarantee peace of mind when you leave your animals with me. I grew up on a farm and with a mother who adores animals. I've cared for all kinds of animals and have extensive experience with looking after their well-being and health. I love any animal from big dogs to baby kittens. I know that your pet is like family to you. If you choose me as a sitter, I can promise that they will be treated as family. I can work with rescues and special diets. I can bottle feed and help with disabled animals as well. Not only am I able to look after your animals with the care that is necessary, I can also ensure the loving environment any animal deserves :) I am a college student who has lots of extra time this summer. I recently moved states and I deeply miss my own pet family; for that reason I plan on working with animals as much as possible. Tell me what you need, I'll work with you! I don't plan on hosting because I live in an apartment, however I am very respectful of spaces that aren't mine. If you need me to watch your babies over night, I promise I'll treat your space with as much respect as my own- even if your pet makes a mess, you wouldn't be able to tell because I'd clean it asap!

Emily took great care of our dogs! She was on time for our meet and greet and made sure she got to know both Pete and Rosie. When she came to walk the dogs, she was able to get Rosie outside and down the road (which is a big accomplishment with a timid, blind dog)! We definitely would recommend Emily.

As the adult account holder and caregiver, I will be responsible for all aspects of your pet's care, including walks, feeding, medication administration (if needed), and supervision. My daughter's presence is always supervised by me, and your pet's safety and well-being remain my top priority. I look forward to getting to know you and your furry family member! I work long days Mondays through Wednesdays but have more flexibility outside of that. Can accommodate before and after work visits. I love long walks! I cannot care for pets in our home but can come to you! Your pet MUST be kid friendly in case my 10 year old comes with!

  • 92% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
