All animals deserve love
Hey, I’m Soph! I have been caring for animals my whole life and professionally for over 2 years. I am also an MCAD student (it’s summer break so I’m super open until August!) and teach dance to preschoolers and work at the Whittier after school program! Whether you just need someone to feed the cat or make sure your baby is cared for while you are gone you have found the right place! I have all the love in my heart for every animal I come across! Big to small, young or old, easy and high maintenance. I have a passion for all creatures and caring for them. I find winning the trust of a nervous pet as one of the best feelings! I work with a bonded pair of cats I work with who went from me not even seeing them to them taking treats out of my hands, the trust we’ve built is so rewarding! I have lots of knowledge about cat and dog body language and use that so ensure any animal I am caring for feels happy and comfortable. I learned a lot when I volunteered at my local animal shelter in high school. I have cared for my own pets since before I can even remember. I currently have a 4 year old golden doodle, Buddy, who I rescued as a baby. He is a gentleman and I’ve taught him lots including loose leash walking! I also have a 5 year old orange cat who I got from the shelter, where I used to volunteer. They are the sweetest boys and caring for them makes me so happy! They are a part of my family. I am passionate about taking care of others whether it be animals, kids or even plants! I especially love puppies and kitties, but who doesn’t!!

Our kitties always struggle when we’re away, but it’s nice to have a friendly face checking in on them. Sophie provides great updates and photos on their activities during her check-ins.

Sophie was so loving and gentle to my two cats. She left detailed accounts of all she did with them and sent many pictures. She followed all of my instructions and took care of my home as well. I came back to two happy cats and that’s exactly what I wanted, thanks Sophie!
Sophie’s done amazing every time she’s watched Oscar (who is sometimes fickle) is very patient and has gotten him to warm up over time and play.
Sophie seemed very good with Penny and recognized her “boundaries”.

I am a pet care provider, dance teacher for preschoolers, work at an elementary school and a student at MCAD. I have a handful of reoccurring rovers I do weekly :) I am very available during the summer! During school I am available mostly on weekends and evenings. My busiest days are tue-thurs. It doesn’t let me be quite as specific with my schedule as I wish I could so if it says I’m unavailable you can send me a message and I might be able to help out anyway :)

I am happy to care for your pets in your environment however you do! I want them to feel like their routine hasn’t changed and trust me as much they do you! My cat loves to cuddle and he always has his face burrowed in my neck. His favorite place to sleep is on my pillow with me. I try to enrich him physically (he loves to play fetch) and mentally! My pup is pretty low energy and loves to sit outside on the balcony for fresh air and bird watching throughout the day. I live in an apartment so unfortunately for Buddy he always has to be leashed, but there is lots of grassy space, it’s a pretty quiet area and I have a longer leash so he can run around me! He’s a very happy boy. We take him on lots of adventures and he gets to go to doggy day care once a week to get good social interaction!

My favorite thing to play with my dog is fetch (he likes to play keep away). He’s been getting better at tug of war too, which has been fun. I like to go outside on walks, and go to the dog park to run around in a large space with no leash. I give him a frozen treat that he gets to work on to keep him happy and enriched! I love using treats in play and enrichment! Making them work to get/find the treats!
